  1. Some magnetite looks like meteorites. So this is close to invisible to my ATpro unless I manually drop the GB way down. Then it still gives a funny iron tone. Anyway if it was intact a meteorite would it then give a positive hit beings it should have some nickel in it? Also are there meteorites will little to no nickel? Just trying to get all my facts strait before I tell my buddy it isn't worth $50,000. LOL
  2. My buddy brought this thing back from a gulch in Colorado. He wasn't having any luck finding gold with is Atgold so he started using his magnet on his pick. He happened upon this thing. I don't know what to call it yet so it's a thing right now! LOL Anyway it stuck like glue to his pick but he told me his machine would not hit on it! I told him he must of had his machine set up wrong. OK. So I bring it home and tried my Atpro on it with my already set GB to 80 and not a peep at full power, Pro zero with no disc! I then lowered my GB to around 60 and there I could get a hit. It would not hit at the center of the coil but would hit as the coil approached and departed the target with an iron tone. The Propointer A/T won't peep even touching this thing but yet it is strongly attracted to a magnet!! It's small and heavy weighing in at 2.7oz. What the heck is it???
  3. It would appear that the coil, rod and arm cuff is exactly the same as some of Whites current Made in America machines. Namely the TreasureMaster, TreasurePro and Coinmaster. This makes me wonder if these components are made in China as well? Then all they have to do in the factory is slap the control head on it.
  4. It doesn't surprise me that dealers such as myself are in the dark on this machine. It's business as usual for us Whites dealers. The last time was when a guy called me and wanted a TRX. I didn't know what he was talking about until I saw K-Co already had them. On the other hand First Texas contacts me when they change toilet paper brands. This I like!
  5. I have never used a detector to hunt gold. However I like coming here for some strange reason. I've even made a post or two...LOL. So having a Coin, Jewelry and Relic forum would keep me more interested. I think adding the extra forums will be sweet!
  6. I agree about the long handled shovel in public areas. Been griping about that for years. I would have to say that non of them cut nice plugs with them in the park. Also didn't put them back well either.
  7. I have used wireless for quite some time now with the Auvio. But the main issue with those is battery life. On a hunt more than 4 hours I had to switch to my wired set so really what is the point? Just when you needed them they were dead... Battery life is the most important to me and with 30 hours life I'll have a set.
  8. A cap - good idea! At least stuff wouldn't stick as much plus would keep it from scratching paint like kiwijw said, I could use a proper sized Fernco cap without the clamp and simply slide it over.
  9. I didn't put the washer on so the flats of the nut would seat better on both sides of the radius. Yes, I should have drilled from both sides. Try making a video all the while trying to narrate the procedure for others to follow, keeping the subject in the proper frame and lighting and in one take and you might just miss some details too. Insinuating that I don't take pride in my work is just nonsense. I produce a lot of "how to" videos on my Youtube channel. Some better than others. Please take the time to make a perfect video and you just might miss something that I can call you out on. If you already have some "how to" vids please leave a link.
  10. Countersinking the magnet would have been even better. But my handle was too small.
  11. I believe it's what Steve had mentioned. The firmware is what it is. They only shut down the line to fix the screens. Just a simple sticker inside the battery cap or compartment would have been enough to know which upgrade it had. What Whites could do is have a place on their site to search the serial numbers for which updates it either has or has not.
  12. Boykin, Since you skipped over my question about the modulated audio I can only believe that it a feature that does not work correctly. How about doing some more "serious" videos showing a proper working machine?
  13. We still don't know if the firmware is working fully? I would love to see them show a smooth operating modulated audio. But I really believe they can't fix that.... Until that is fixed I'm out.
  14. There is plenty of room on the face to rearrange the info and give us large numbers. I would like to see the Standard mode removed and make that side say "Expert" Then give us a back light and tone options to begin with. It's called AT"pro" Not AT"standard" so give us more "Pro" options.
  15. The "neutral buoyant" 12 incher floats too. Why don't Whites have Detech make all their coils under a "Private Label" agreement? Where will the outsourcing stop? What if they started selling Deteknix pinpointers? Garrett Headphones? What about the detector itself? Take your Makro Detector to the next level with our Detech search coils offered by Whites Electronics. Buy in the next 30 days to receive a free Deteknix Pinpointer. Check with your Authorized Whites Dealers for more info!
  16. I was very vocal when Whites announced they would sell the Ultimate coil. I believe their ad was "Take your Whites to the next level with the Ultimate coil"? If Whites can't build a better coil than an aftermarket coil then can they really build a machine? I mean I use aftermarket coils. But the manufacturer doesn't take on that line and then say it's the greatest coil for their machines. Couldn't they reverse engineer the coil? Now the 7 inch Deteck coil is introduced. They spend years designing the MXS and put all that time into making a coil and in a few months Detech can whip one out probably better than Whites can build! Detech also builds metal detectors. Will they have Detech build their machines? If Detech built the MXS then maybe we could get one that works?
  17. My distributor is taking my MXS back with full refund plus they are covering the shipping as well. I can't say enough about my distributor. Honest nice folks trying to scratch out a living. This MXS came off of Whites latest shipments to the distributor. Whites told them that all new machines have all the updates. Well I guess except mine and Craigs and maybe yours????????
  18. I do have the 950 coil but as you know it floats like a cork! I only want the MXS for water and a loaner machine. I already have a land coin and relic machine. There should absolutely be zero non upgraded machines on anyones shelves. But there it was right at my distributor which was sent to me. Jeez....
  19. I was charged $32 to have the MXS shipped to me from my distributor that is just 258 miles from me. As a dealer selling a discounted machine there is not much profit in a mid range machine. The lower end machines are even worse. I always push the M6 and all flavors of the MXT's because they never had any issues and just worked. I thought the MXS was going to be the machine I would now push - but I cannot. I will wait to see what guts they put in the next MXS's frame. But for now I'm done with the MXS's.
  20. I cannot simply send the machine back and ask for a refund. The work around is I ask for a replacement and then send the bad one back and refuse the new one so it's sent back. So in the long run I can get my money back. As a customer Whites stance is "No refunds" They will however repair it as many times as it takes within 2 years. The customer can get a refund from a dealer and then it will be up to the dealer to hassle with the distributor if the dealer choose to do so. Nothing is easy when you have a bad machine....
