The place this all happen I have found over that seventy gold, silver and junk rings Then I could walk and hunt this place without trouble but now they have a fence around it. This place is in a park and now they have stop all detecting. I never seen another detecting and I never left a hole uncovered. Who knows what's the thinking of the powers that be but that's way life is. Let the next gold ring come soon for you. They're out there you've got to spend the time looking. You may not get as much as a thank you but you know you done the right thing.For the ones that do say thanks will make you all warm inside. I plan on running an add but I'm guessing since it was about 7" down its been lost for quite some time, although it looks like Gambler in post #8 might be the owner. Now all he has to do is show me what tree he lost it under for the return. I want to thank everyone for their kind posts and links. I'm going to continue work on the identification of the ring. No luck so far. 2016 is starting out good as far as rings for me. After only a few short park hunts I have found one gold, two silver, three junk and then a gold plated with stones yesterday.
