You can buy a new Legend with a 3 year warranty for less than an out of warranty Equinox 800.

Who makes those>>>?
Got to tell ya Jeff. As a dedicated Salt Beach hunter, I have yet to see a GOOD Beach hunter using one!  Even now I struggle to find anyone touching Salt Water with one.
Yes, I know there was problems on release but that was long ago.
I even tried to start a PM with a member here that is using one in Salt asking a few questions on performance>NO response>>> So there is that!

If you are going to be out traveling around the country that means that you will most likely end up hunting parks and so forth and at some point you will probably end up venturing into or around the water be it fresh or salt. Also if you are going to be wintering in Arizona there is the allure of the yellow stuff.Buy yourself the NOX 900 and if you find yourself becoming passionate about this great hobby and you can afford it get yourself a Deus 2 as a backup machine.Have fun and good hunting!

And PS don't pay too much attention to the detector wars that has started up as a result of your post.
