F350Platinum Posted October 15, 2023 Share Posted October 15, 2023 Nice finds Jeff, glad the Legend is working for you in the tough stuff. 👍 Did some quick research, and apparently the Grasshopper or Locust is a symbol of faith, from one account the insects can only leap forward. 🙂 Pretty good detail on the 1875 seated, that year had a fairly high mintage but it's still a great save. A major reason for this seemingly-random trend was fatigue from the rapid advancement of technology and society as a whole. A lot of the sash buckles are some sort of butterfly. I guess they paid attention to the little things back then. Heres a some sort of spider broach I found this year at an old mining camp. Not sure how it was attached as there is no pin.
