The Lama
My guess is that will similar in performance and price to the 900 maybe a little more pricy but it's main advantage will be durability and Garretts customer support.I also am guessing that the parts on the Apex that are yellow will be blue partly because it looks cool ,i'll be buying one i like supporting great American manufacturing companies

Also, are Garrett detectors just assembled in America? Meaning, are most of the actual parts made overseas?

It would be unrealistic to expect all electronics components to be made in the USA, it sounds like Garrett assemble their own PCB's in USA though, that's about as close as you can get to homegrown electronics in this day and age, like most things in every country, made in "place country here" from local and imported ingredients.

I saw a video a few years ago an Aussie guy made touring the factory and it showed them making coils ,bending tubing pretty much all parts being made,
phrunt
Yep, there are a few by the Garrett sponsored people or associates/dealers. Some examples. They're actually pretty cool to watch, and see it all take place. I'd love to go to a metal detector manufacturing facility. 5

That's a fair price if you don't want to have any fun. ?? 1
