Popular Post Skull diver Posted June 7, 2024 Popular Post Share Posted June 7, 2024 With little expectation, last Monday I began an inspection dive to check a narrow corner between a stretch of public beach and an old arm of the harbor. While the large concrete structure helps keep the corner protected from wind and wave energy, it also actually creates a troublesome decades-old pile of algae and sand. The risk factor is water depth, where in reality the Manticore is not necessarily the first choice to use, when in fact the Excalibur was and forever will be. Because of the lower level these days, however, I was able to get down and with some wonderment found a decent uncovered area with something like a cut. I closed the last session on Wednesday, leaving the area after a total of 10 hours of bottom in three days. Next week I will work on another SSA project and rebuild a proper harness and ballast system....
