  • The title was changed to US Plates I've Recovered

Outstanding.  I often wonder how so much, that was still useful, got lost or discarded. I know War is messy and expeditious but it worked out in our favor for relics.  We’re some of these found at your Nashville dump site?

JCR, none of these came from Nashville. They are from a post battle of Murfreesboro (Stones River) hospital site. Long gone now due to a bypass.

Another "hunted out site" that I myself said I'd never return to but then I did when the Minelab Sovereign became a reality. My friend dug six US plates and 3 1830 artillery buttons. I recovered a number of bullets and other smalls but the belt plates and Drummer's plate (missing the drum stick holders) were my focus. Iron was so thick you couldn't use a shovel (square nails mixed with larger iron); trowels were the tool of choice.
