I have found the ORX to be much better than the Deus for gold prospecting since it has four features in its two Gold modes that the Deus Goldfield mode lacks. They are Iron Volume, dedicated Threshold Tone with volume adjustment, the big Iron Probability Bar, and the big, awesome numerical Target ID display. These can turn the ORX into a two separate VCO tones detector: ferrous-low VCO tone/grunt and non-ferrous-med/high VCO. It also handles hot rocks and hot ground very well. With the addition of the display and iron bar plus the lightweight portability............it makes for an outstanding gold prospecting detector that has easily found gold for me too. Jeff Love mine and it's rocking .... said good bye to My Whites TDi SL ...... Has a better balanced threshold in hot grounds....
MannyScoot
It will hit a .04 gram nugget at 10+ inches .....

I basically like what I see. It’s funny how it’s tempting to jump on a new model when I don’t actually need one. It finds if you are on the correct grounds.......This is my second round starting in 2020...... Last year's finds help me buy a GPX 4500 from Rob's inventory ...... But still use the XP ORX a lot.......
Fskafish
Light as a feather, lightening fast.ive had my orx for about 2 months now, i liked the price point and how easy it is to use with the deus dna..it really is an impressive machine, it does punch deep sometimes surprisingly deep..and finds the tiniest of targets, loves silver..did i mention its ridiculous light? lauchon03

Fskafish
If you are even thinking about the orx just get it, this little machine is a beast. Ive had it for about 3 months now and man it surprises me more and more. Its super fast, deeper then i thought it would be, the weight is almost not real. And to be honest im pulling targets that my equinox missed, im not gonna say 100 percent that my nox missed them perhaps i didnt get my coil over the target but, on a site i have that i take all of my machines to it is finding new targets.my equinox opened this site that i have pounded withother machines and now this little monster orx has opened it again..i really believe the orx is a sleeper..if its a machine you are on the fence about, get it.. lauchon03
I really like the Orx, I wish I could use it at high frequencies 30 or 70khz but I don't know why it gets very unstable with wet soils, ID 99 95 as I go deeper the sound disappears. so i think khz is a lot of marketing they say that a gold detector has to be high frequency when detectors like the Garrett at gold and the Orx at low frequencies can find very small nuggets without any problem ...

I use the ORX in 74Khz and in 30.4 Khz for shallow ground.. and yes it works, but at a maximum of 6-8 inches on small gold ! If you want to go deeper than 8-12 inches and detect a small nugget ie. a .20 to .50 deeper than 8" inches you have to go to something better like a 4500 ....... or for real small gold .07 to .10 then something real sensitive like a gold monster 1000 .....
