  1. Thanks, interesting stuff! It's not plated it has a 10K stamp. The bands are rose gold. There is very little gold weight. I will get the stone checked when I get back home!
  2. Well it has been a dry spell, but finally connected! Besides the gold stamp there is gcic4 stamped in the ring. Does this refer to the diamond? TIA
  3. There is no luck of the draw. Their are going to be lots of broken coils.
  4. Hey Badger I am 100% positive my EMI was communications equipment. I have been waiting for feedback on Electric EMI. So please post, I guess no guarantees? Thanks Dave
  5. You know this is not that hard! The tape is sticky, not peeled it is not sticky. I assembled it so all pieces touching my cover still have the backing on it!
  6. Please go to my fist post [I am the OP]. In the picture is a cage built out of aluminum tape. Some of is unpeeled [not sticky] several layers to give it stability.
  7. ****UPDATE**** I made an aluminum shield out of tape that goes over my cover and can be removed. I have the same EMI outcome. No EMI from cell phones and NO EMI from that communications equipment. Dave
  8. Are things not clear that Minelab is only releasing gold machines this year? What am I missing??/ Also with a 6 month build-up to the release of the Equinox and now with zero build-up, minelab is going to dump a surprise machine on us. UGH, just not their MO.
  9. One source who was on scene tells Arundel.news the man may have been wading offshore to search for items with a metal detector when the cold water likely caused hypothermia. The man was not able to return to the shore on his own. https://www.arundel.news/news/a-a-county-fire-boat-41-pulls-man-from-bay-near-beverly-beach/article_7b76d062-5511-11eb-b855-1fa2fc38b935.html?utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook&utm_campaign=user-share Dave
  10. GOTTA love a gift one can actually use!!!!
  11. It was just amazing how I could call target size with my Sovereign!
  12. Being on a beach or river it sounds like you would not have a location where target saturation is a problem. The 6" coils would excel in a target saturation environment. But in all reality the Nox 11" coil is an awesome separator of targets. I just don't see money well spent on another coil. However that money could be used for a nice graphite shaft, coil and screen protector. A decent arm cuff too!!!! Dave
  13. Well I thought it was me that was unable to tell target size with the Nox!!!!! However I do work in one tone and with one tone I do have confidence in small targets sometimes. But tell the difference between a dime and a silver dollar. Forget it! Thanks Clive! Dave
  14. A quality set of headphones to keep outside sounds out IS A MUST at the beach. For beach use with the Sovereign GT I use the Black Widows. I also use the same Black Widows with the Equinox.
  15. I never used the wireless on my Nox. Hard wired from the start. Call me old school...................
  16. Well in 8 hours of use I lost all of my EMI on this beach with the foil in place. Working on a more permanent fix. I am 100% sure this EMI is from communications equipment. Would like to hear from someone who try's this on overhead power lines Dave
  17. So I ran the Alum Foil again today. No EMI from cell phones. In fact I had my friend sweep his cell within 5 inches all around the detector and no EMI pulses. 😁
  18. So I thought nothing ventured nothing gained. I have about three blocks of beach where the EMI forces me to turn the sensitivity down to 20. Also sick of hearing all the cell phones coming at me from 20 feet away so......It was not pretty. Did not know what to expect. I WAS FLOORED! Not only did I not hear cell phones any more, my EMI issue completely disappeared. I was able to run a solid 22 sensitivity and even 23 with water contact. On the wet sand [no water contact] I ran 24 all the way back. I have NEVER been able to run at 24 on this beach. Your mileage may very, but I will be out with this again today. Dave
  19. I do not like the coil bolt that came with the machine. So yes, I am running a nylon bolt.
  20. Hi Joe The grip is purchased. It is an add-on grip for bicycle handle bars. I then add a foam grip to it. Also the top needs a piece of hardwood pinned into it so the plastic washer can be put on top. My rod is a custom straight rod, so I just put the pod where I like it.
  21. ALSO, here is my mod to save the control pod from breaking under the pressure of water hunting. I prefer my hand grip 100% over holding the pod.
  22. So I have a total of 5 hunts about 20 hours of time on my coil solution. Again, a [solid] plastic coil stiffener is epoxied to the coil. Then a plastic side plate is added to both sides. Each coil ear is now 1/2" thick! Let you guys know when I have 500 hours on it. I have also removed the two center coil supports for weight savings and water drag.
  23. LOTS, of crusty ........... There is more their!
