  1. Steve had already mention to me that he loved the idea of a lightweight detector. He really did not want to add any additional weight that a cover might add. I understand his thinking on this subject. Although my complete cover set only weighs 8 ounces. But that threaded port screw is very clever. Doc
  2. Lunk is where I learned about them. I tried a pair, and then got a dealership for them. $95 free shipping. I love them because they are great for everything. The computer, watching smart television is a hoot. It sounds like speeding cars are going right through your head. You can answer your telephone. These things are really neat. I agree that the GPX6000 has a pretty good speaker but I don't like the doppler effect you get when you are swinging that speaker back and forth. It is really bad for me because I wear hearing aids so it is even more pronounced. I hear the sound loud in my right ear then as I swing the detector it switches to my left ear then back again, and I find it very annoying. These Torus give me equal sound right directly under my hearing aids and the sound is crisp and clear. If the wind is blowing I take my hearing aids out and use the ear buds. They also make a small transmitter or receiver that is so small you could attach it to the back of one of my speakers and accomplish what you are talking about. The pair is available on Amazon for $60. These things are slightly larger that a silver dollar. You would only need the receiver and a speaker. Again they are the low latency Qualcom APTX technology. I'll have to play around and see if my speaker and the receiver will pair with the GPX6000. I had to agree not to advertise on Amazon to get a dealership for the Torus -Doc
  3. Love to see pictures of you guys with the Nugget Stalker cover on your new GPX6000. Doc
  4. Hey gang all backorders are filled. Check with your dealers as they have stock on the way to them as well. Rob Allison, Chris Gholson, Gerry McMullen, Bill Southern and Finders Keepers in Kalgoorlie Australia. Listed alphabetically in the U.S. by last name. This was just a fraction of the production run. But I had these shipped by air because I know so many people have been waiting. The balance are coming by boat. Here's the instructions for those of you that want an understanding of the meticulous attention to detail that went into this cover. Special thanks goes to the President of Minelab, Peter Charlesworth, who assisted me along the way with advise, suggestions and gave a thumbs up on the unique blue camo material. By the way the weight for the entire cover set, which consists of 5 pieces is under 8 ounces. There is the main body cover, the arm cuff cover, the arm cuff strap, the head cover, and a detachable shade cover for the head cover. Installation instructions for Nugget Stalker GPX6000 cover. Doc
  5. I'm still the guy. 😆 I just don't carry Coiltek anymore. I still have a few WALCO picks, and I have my own brand of pick, However, it's not like the old Serial Killer pick I designed for WALCO. This is my Nugget Stalker Pick. I still have a few WALCO picks left I think. Doc
  6. You waited 12 years, when all you had to do was call me! You never know what I have sitting on my shelves until you ask. Doc
  7. The hat I wore in N. Sudan Africa to protect myself from the intense sun and unrelenting heat. Attractive? Not exactly the adjective that I would use to describe this hat. Functional? You bet. This hat, is completely size adjustable via an elastic band that secures in the back with a Velcro® type hook and loop closure. The hat is made of very soft t-shirt like material that absorbs moisture while it protects you from direct sunlight because of a SPF rating of 50. Do you know how your ears get so sweaty and damp when wearing a pair of headphones in the summer? Well this hat really helps. Wearing your headphones over the material does not interfere with the sound at all. But what it does do is it wicks the moisture away from your ears. The cloth, covering your ears, directs the moisture out of the headphone cup. It seeps under the headphone cup to the exterior where it evaporates. This actually helps keep your ears dry and comfortable. The Detector Protector hat also has numerous Velcro® type tabs stitched at strategic locations so you can close the neck protector portion around the front of your neck, place part of it over your nose and mouth. Or you can tab it in the back on those over cast days where you don’t need so much protection. Or gather it in the back and pull it through the elastic loop in the back to get it completely off of your neck. Obviously this “DP” hat was not designed to make a fashion statement. But it will protect you from the sun and allow you to detect in more comfort than you have ever experienced with any other hat. https://docsdetecting.com/product/protector-detector-hat-protect-your-skin-extremely-comfortable-with-headphones/
  8. It's a made up name which is a mash up of the words Quick, Bungee and Double (double adjustment point). It describes another innovative product from Doc that makes detecting more enjoyable and helps save your arm, shoulder neck and back from undue stress. Just add your own backpack or Hydration pack. This amazing Bungee Support System provides absolutely instantaneous adjustment so your detector is always at the proper height off the ground, even when you are in mid-swing. We use super strong Marine Grade bungee that is stronger than 3/8ths inch bungee that is commonly used for tie-downs.
  9. Shipped Priority mail yesterday Mike. Thank you. Delivery says SATURDAY??? Geesh the post office is really dropping the ball. I could throw a rock from Las Vegas and hit Sandy Utah. Doc
  10. Me! I'm the automated assembly line. Only 1700 more to assemble. I can't keep up with orders. Your dealers should have more this week if you have been waiting for the SAGA™. I can't tell you how over the moon excited my wife is that I have completely taken over our dining room table. (Not really.) I have not seen any field reports from people who have purchased the Swing Assist Guide Arm yet. I would love to hear some news. Thanks gang! Doc
  11. We have two females as well. One is a Yorkie, the other is a Silkie. Great guard dogs, I mean they are too little to do anything but they are on high alert all of the time. Never have to worry about anyone breaking in, they hear everything and bark. The other thing is Yorkies and Silkies do not shed. Doc
  12. Beautiful dog. I love the color. Bright eyes, alert. I love dogs. Doc
  13. My favorite. My two studs one was named Astor, and the other was Eiko. They were both Schutzhund III's. Wonderful loving dogs. They both thought they were lap dogs. Nothing like having a big lapful of German Shepherd.
  14. I love Dachshunds. Steve do they like to be covered up? Every Dachshund I have ever known loves to be under the covers. When I used to go to Germany to buy dogs, the big three in popularity were Shepherds Long haired Dachshunds and Rottie's. In fact most of the GS breeders over there also had Dachshunds. Not for breeding but as their other pets. In Germany your Shepherds go everywhere with you. Restaurants, stores, everywhere. The SV which is the registration organization for German Shepherds is extremely strict. If I had a female and I wanted to breed to Gerry's male we would first have to get permission from the SV. First both animals would have to have their first Schutzhund training degree which involves Obedience, Tracking and bite work. Then they would check to make sure breeding on those lines had no "breed warnings." A breed warning is something that indicates breeding dogs from certain lines produce a deficit in the breed. Maybe it's limp ears, or monorchids, males that have one testicle, or overshot bites, etc. If there are breed warnings you can not breed your two dogs. Let's say you are given permission and Gerry and I breed our two dogs. My bitch has 8 puppies. We must immediately notify the breed warden in our area. The breed warden comes and inspects the 8 puppies for any defects. If any puppy has a defect they snap their neck and throw them in a gunny sack. If after inspection all 8 puppies are fine they ask you which 6 you want to keep. The other two are killed. A female is only allowed to have 6 puppies as they believe that is all a female can adequately care for and give each one proper nourishment. The pedigree issued by the SV for each dog in a litter will say right on it, 2, 0 Amenaufzucht. I think that is the word, I might have the spelling off, that means 2 males and 0 females were killed. So the German's have taken their idea of a "master race" and applied it to dogs. Doc
  15. That is one beautiful animal. I know a lot about German Shepherds. At one time in the early 70's my wife and I owned the largest German Shepherd Kennel in the United States. All of our dogs were imported from Germany. Our two stud dogs were out of the Number 1 producer of normal hips and the Number 2 producer of normal hips in all of Germany. All our dogs had the "A" stamp German certification for normal hips and many times we got them OFA certified too. I revamped the K9 unit when I was on the police department. I replaced all of the dogs with German Shepherds that had Schutzhund training degrees. Damn he is gorgeous . Doc
  16. Wow, that's great, that is almost back to normal delivery. Used to take 7 to 10 days then it went all the way to 30 days. Doc
  17. Dave, Jonathan Porter usually handles my products in Australia, and I have 2 boxes of merchandise ready to ship to him. But he has not been answering emails for like 2 weeks. He may be out in the bush. Doc
  18. I agree. If it is at all damp then you will not get gravity to work for you when you agitate the scoop so you have to add water. However, unlike a conventional gold pan, you do not need a lot of water. -Doc
  19. This is a demonstration of the Gold SPOT™ being used as a portable gold pan. It's extremely effective. Don't worry about the first few minutes where I am out of frame. Leo Aranza, my buddy, takes over and the rest of the video is well framed. -Doc
  20. I got a piece of wire stuck up in the area inside the Minelab scoop where the handle is molded into the bowl of the scoop, and spent 10 minutes trying to figure out why a scoop that looked empty was giving me a target sound. I have also had rocks get stuck up in therre. I would like it better if they had molded the handle on the outside of the scoop. You may like it because of the pointed tip, it is similar to many gardening trowels. Of course that was before I had Glaucoma surgery and Cataract surgery so maybe I could see a piece of wire now. 😀 Doc
  21. By the way for my international customers, here's a sharp stick in the eye, and then some eye drops to sooth the sting. To order one Scoop the shipping to Australia is $33. OUCH! However, if you have friends who want a scoop you can order 6 scoops for the same $33 shipping. Crazy right? Well the thing is 7 ounces to 32 ounces is the same price, $33. One scoop with packaging weighs 6 and change ounces so I have to round it up to 7 ounces and 6 scoops with packaging weighs 31 ounces. So 6 scoops would be only $5.50 per scoop. (Eye Drops) That is about the same shipping cost per scoop as it is here in the U.S. It averages about $5.35. So get your friends together. Doc
