Nokta Simplex Going To Be Released....?
Voyager32 replied to RobNC's topic in Nokta / Makro Metal Detectors
I was told by Nokta that the Simplex will NOT be able to use the Kruzer/Anfibio coils. I hope the volume is adequate, I’m going to try to get an adapter cable so I can use my Tony Eisenhower headphones that I use with my Equinox. -
Nokta Simplex Going To Be Released....?
Voyager32 replied to RobNC's topic in Nokta / Makro Metal Detectors
I was told by Nokta that it would be released with the stock coil and one more coil will be available sometime, didn’t say what size or kind, was hoping there would be more selection. -
Video - Dilek Shows Off The New Simplex

I can see a Simplex and a Pulsedive in my future! I was thinking of the Anfibio 14 but I like the simplicity of the Simplex. -

Eqx/gm 1000 Shaft Hack & Counterbalance Weights

I would like to see and hear more about your conversion, looks great, but didn’t quite understand what was involved with the parts and process -
I’m considering buying an Anfibio multi and am wondering about it’s abilities in and around saltwater, I know it has a beach mode but do you have to lower the sensitivity much to get it stable? I have an Equinox 600 and it’s a great machine except I live in Canada and find it frustrating on our clad coins, I’ve heard the Anfibio does well on it, the 600 is great in many ways but my buddy finds way more clad with his AT gold but can’t go near the salt, I have used the 600 snorkeling and would also dive with the Anfibio, the fact that it is rated deeper is a bonus along with the collapsible shaft. Anybody have experience with one.

I was thinking about a simple counter weight for a detector that was easy to attach or remove and thought that a Ram mount might work, they come in different lengths, the one pictured is 31/2 in and I have 4oz fishing weight in it, it is very secure, takes seconds to attach, a 6in might be better but I’m sure that with a bit of thought a system could be put together that works well.

I’m new to detecting, about 6 months, I bought an Equinox 600 and it’s a great detector, But wanted a simple machine to keep in the truck for when opportunity arises for a quick hunt and wanted something that works on our horrible Canadian clad, research pointed me to the inexpensive Compadre, couldn’t be happier, love using it, always puts a smile on my face and it does finds the goodies!

Is There A Clear Winner In Nox Waterproof Headphones
Voyager32 replied to Dig It's topic in Minelab Equinox Forum
You can adjust each cup, they slide up and down about an inch, look on the inside of the arms where they attach to the cups. I find the cord cord long enough ( I’m 5 10 ) I have used them underwater with my diy 12v hookah and they are loud enough for me but louder would be better. -
I mostly use multi in park2 sometimes all metal, in 50 tone, speed 3 (nox 600) iron bias 2 so we’re using similar settings, I have found quite a few loonies and toonies and quarters but it depends on the year, most of the loonies are late 80’s the vdi’s jump around but I’m starting to recognize the sound, bottle caps I listen for the iron grunt or check at 10khz and if the vdi starts jumping into the 20’s it’s a bottle cap, of course that doesn’t help when it comes to aluminum caps lol I hate those things. I have the 6in coil as well and haven’t used the 11in since I got it. The photo is two days of detecting about 5 hours total.

what frequency do you find works best for you on our modern coins?

Snorkel Hunting With The Ml Yellow Wp Phones
Voyager32 replied to cdv's topic in Minelab Equinox Forum
Nice finds, interesting technique for snorkeling, I use a diy 12v hookah, was out to a lake with my 600 and dove in about 7ft of water, I had modified a plug and used waterproof earbuds under my hood, with volume at max was able to hear pretty good even over the noise of the hookah, I like being able to stay down while fanning target. I just received my Waterproof headphones from Tony so will be using them now. -
First Person To Dive With Equinox?

Check out “Philbo Baggins” on YouTube from Australia, incredible what he’s finding in 10 to 15ft of water. -
First Person To Dive With Equinox?
Voyager32 replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in Minelab Equinox Forum
He was using headphones, I think you should be able to hear the nox without them, not as well of course but maybe at a usable level, I will buy a pair of headphones if Minelab ever releases them, but it would be nice not to be tethered. -
First Person To Dive With Equinox?

I would be interested in hearing from someone who dove with the Nox but without headphones, volume maxed, can you hear it underwater? I would do it but the water here is still too cold, seems to me you should be able to hear it in a calm lake. I will be diving/ snorkeling with my 600 this summer. -
Tyran Thank you so much! This is just what I was looking for, I’ve done some testing in my backyard with newer coins but the numbers seem all over, but I may be doing something wrong to cause it, noise cancel and auto ground balance then have a go. I’m a 68year old newbie in the sport lol, should be a lot of fun. Thanks again.

Thanks for the tip. A bit disappointing to have this cutting edge machine with all the different modes and not be able to utilize them. Hopefully beachmode will be fun and not too frustrating. Now for waterproof headphones.

Looking at the chart it appears that modern Canadian coins would be discriminated out like a nail or screw, what would be the best setting for these? Any Canadian Equinox hunters out there? I’m a retired complete newbie with a 600 looking for any tips to help me along. Also plan to do some snorkeling in lakes and ocean. Thanks
-
Thanks Steve, won’t happen here either for a while, but glad to know it’s possible in a calm lake.

Will be receiving my 600 in a few days and was wondering if you can submerge the unit without headphones and hear it, is it safe to do? I will be getting underwater headphones when available and intend to wade and snorkel with it, should be a fun machine.
