  1. I might be wrong, but just to be sure of the settings effectiveness, I believe that before to go on the field, this test should be done after those 10 minutes warm up... At that point I can be sure that the machine will react in a certain way with the knobs in a certain position...And I will hunt with peace of mind during future sessions... Great informations however...I just don't know how to be now...If sad, cause there's not yet a release time at the horizon or happy cause I'm gradually learning how to use this machine without even touching it...
  2. This guy reminds me why I was not successful as a promoter. When I was asked to film and test models already on the market, in a tone that emphasized a special function, it seemed to me that I was making an effort, rather than something that amused me. After years spent digging all kinds of rubbish, it is really difficult to tell someone that gold is there, waiting for you and You just have to buy this new toy to have it all. Honestly, when I saw on my hands for the first time a thin 1.7 gram wedding band to sound 35 cm far from the Tdi coil in a useless air test, the only thing I was thinking was:"Damn! how much I missed until now?"without to scream for the miracle. However, after videomaking, today I have another funnier hobby....😅
  3. 131 F degrees?😟means 55 C at the highest peak of your measurements...Jeez...Good to use it fully "underwater cooled"
  4. This is the best option for effortless disconnect/recharge/connect and go cycle... Thanks 👍
  5. Thanks for suggestion!I already found the website weeks ago and found good prices too!So I decided to push this project. At the end of games I'll have the winner pack. I already tried 8s 1.6V Ni-Zn (too low capacity of 1.560mAh) 11s 1.2V Ni-Mh @2400mAh (burned during last cell soldering) Waiting to make/test 4s 18650 Samsung 35e @3450mAh (probably the best option with bms and regulator @13.8V and cutoff @11.5V) Last less obvious and final destination 4s 26650 5000mAh (with same bms+reg. pack)
  6. With the factory operations recently closed, even the eventual future assistance is destinated to vanish...So I will check with longer cables and connectors the battery pack work for an half day and eventually dismantle the lower side of the control box...In that occasion, I might also swap the coil with a smaller one, this time a plain mono... There's a long debate on this, but I still don't find a coil that suit my needs in terms of shape and weight, not to mention delay, inductance and resistance.
  7. I was suspecting the noise was increased by adding more voltage. Also, capacity is the main factor I'm looking for. Right now, thanks to a friend, I have to the test a different creation with thin cells. This time a 3s pack. Hopefully with a little less voltage but longer lasting cells, I can squeeze out the good balance between duration/performance/noise
  8. And over time things have not improved! The shaft has remained the main disaster and never been updated with an adjustable Anderson, the 8 "coil disappeared from retailers and then only remained 10" in production ... For what absurd reason I do not know. Sensitivity on small gold stuff never improved, so a good part of Us choosed the risk to use the wading machines to go deeper and have a chance to pick up subtle signals missed by the green monster of the past..
  9. Wow!With a similar ring/time ratio I'd never leave the place without to keep at least a referral point to go back there soon as possible.Probably using a real gps with coordinates. Unluckily my find's life is under the surface and to keep trace of a point I need other three of them on the compass to isolate a promising spot. I'm sorry for your AQ, but thanks for the notice of a fast phone call from them at FT...This is something I really want from someone that is supposed to be my future "bread" supplier...
  10. Already owned both of them Steve... I love analogic machines and still prefer to hear by sound whats under there... The Ctx was and still is for me the gun which taked me on another level. I've been too many times out of air leaving water with gold in the egg and leaving there competition with stuff of any kind but no gold...I dream that kind of electronics in a bulletproof case...That's my nightmare more than a dream.
  11. Perfect and clear analysis of my little neglected world...😩 That's for this reason that I feel angry sometimes. Over a decade looking for a problem free working"tool" and really few options that I don't even like too much. I actually ended with the Tdi BH purchase just cause seemed able to copy the Excalibur conduct, or at least in the shallows and discrimination is a drug I'm gradually detoxing from... Still a too much floating ball...
  12. Underwater there's the opposite rule...Bigger coils means more noise and effort paying a lower effective gain too .... Smaller coils means less noise and effort and more effective gain to max out..Similar performance of a big coil out of water....Where a small one is almost useless...
  13. If I weren't aware of the planned obsolescence, I would think there must be some kind of idiot in the design department. After the overwhelming proof of the Excalibur in terms of diving ability, what else is needed to get them on the road to build completely watertight machines? I'm tired to fight with water leakage, burned batteries and flooded screens. They can do what they want with the electronics inside.A beach machine is something that I pretend to be environment proof and not to be personally adapted and arranged to the job. What a pain was for some of my friends to pay 2.500€ to drown the crap after a week. I never forget who play with my money.
  14. I think more of something like a fallout shelter, where I can stay silently to weld battery packs, where I can take a shower returning from the sea and possibly sleep when just Three hours later I have to be in the water again...My place...In two words...
  15. The meaning is: divided but always together...The other phrase half is on the other hearth face... I can't touch her Folletto otherwise I'd be in even more serious troubles... I'm making a plan to realize my hunting shelter, far away from woman things in the house.
  16. Might be the wrong way to set the audio and not only this thing...But I managed to keep a softer target response maxing 70%the treshold and reducing a lot the volume knob...Seems like the audio amplifier react a lot less in this way...leaving the higher treshold is much easier to balance your audio boost needs...Try it in an air test and see what I mean...
  17. Nice and clean work...I'm waiting four Samsung 30E cells now. 3450mAh should be fine and last 6 + hours.Talking about noise I ended up raising delay up to 18/19uS to stay quiet without continue treshold retuning.
  18. You're inspiring me Tony! I 'm wondering if the 8" AQ1 coil can match the needed inductance
  19. Joe, are you using a bms module inside the 4s1p tube?I hope not because.... I actually don't know if I'm correct but seems to be the easier combination for a self balanced recharge without the need of multiple solder and little cables around cells, not to mention the module itself presence inside the pod... I'm developing a similar pack for the Tdi and can be the base for the future of my dreamed AQ...
  20. As an 8" lover, I was strongly interested to buy the Garrett one mostly for the open shape and its underwater epoxy filled nature. Some of the tech experts here on the board were nicely explaining the different kind of coil compared with a plain mono for the Tdi.🤤 So the choice was then limited between the Coiltek Platypus 12x8 and the Detech which was an unbeatable winner for price.. Then I tried for the Coiltek to have one, but forced to ask in my area for someone to sell it🤬.I'm a strong defensor of equal price on the globe for anyone...I don't like to overpay for the same stuff otherwise feel like fooled. So the Detech was the last of my options but I already had to deal with the Coiltek 10x5" buoiancy on the Ctx and I can't accept the handling of closed design coils. No more. All of this effort to obtain (probably) a couple less delay points on the knob? Also, there's another factor...Must be hardwired on the board otherwise more noise can added to the already usual bouncy retuning scream... So I decided to take a breath and leave the world as it is.
  21. Really good. This one is the way to go.Open and heavy, even better in the water.
  22. If you don't want to live my same nightmare, try to ask Nenad as I think is the only "authorized" dealer near your area able to sell something of those brands to you...I tried to buy the platypus in the Usa...Nothing...
