  1. Thanks for your comments BigSkyGuy! I own a good EQX800 and going for a 900... So I'm a bit in doubt with the water, but seems everybody is OK with water....
  2. Same as me, we are waiting for your conclusions ๐Ÿ™‚
  3. Hi EQX900 water hunter users, Would like to know about the real resistance of the EQX900 against water, so i made a form questions to make it easier (you can do copy-paste): 1.- How often do you submerge de EQX900? 2.- For how long have you submerged it? 3.- How deep? Diving? 4.- Fresh water or salt water? 5.- Have you noticed any issues with the water? 6.- Do you think is really waterproof, fixing the EQX800 problems? 7.- Do you belive/feel that it will last roughly? 9.- Your aditional comments: Thanks!
  4. My Nemo stopped working yesterday. It's the second time it fails. The second time for crashing. I wrote Blu3 asking for technical service support. I'm having bad feelings about Nemo.
  5. Yeah TarVatrex ๐Ÿคญ! Asรญ somos jeje I think reading backwards is not so important due most of water hunters use 2 tones... ferrous yessss or no: dig it.
  6. Hi Joe! Thanks for your comments, it's a happiness seeing that this invention seems so useful for you all. I did not add 90ยฐ elbow on the coil, because the shaft allows coil to accommodate 180ยฐ rotation perfectly. And yes, the pod returns to it's original design and position simply by opening the lock and inserting it in the original shaft. You can decide when to use this mini shaft for your convenience again when needed โœŒ๏ธ It's super tiny! Thanks Joe!
  7. Hi Markinswpa, You're right. I don't know what's Minelab doing since 2020, but seems like full throttle flat out saying bye to other brands, but forgetting to take care of its users: everyone who understands, knows what I mean ๐Ÿ˜ฅ
  8. Hi Steve, Thank you very much for your complete and well-worked message. I will try to do my best in the answer. I currently have an EQX800 converted to Seaghost, so I can use it on any shaft that has the proper diameter, and not just the Minelab socket. I use it on a DetectedInnovations carbon fiber shaft, which due to use on the beach, due to the rubbing of the sand like sandpaper, has been losing diameter, so that with the heavier coils, it ends up coming off. A few days ago I was with a colleague who has the EQX900, and I was able to compare them, and I saw that the original 900 shaft was stiffer than the one I use, and that's why I look for the original. However, after reading your comments, and supported by the good references provided by our colleagues, I am going to take a look at your articles, in case any of them could fit what I am looking for. Thank you so much for your help, this amazing forum is full of great people. All the best! Airtemisa
  9. Thaks RVPopeye, Iยดm using THIS SHAFT for 3 years now, but due to wear and tear, the lower shaft no longer exerts pressure like it did at beggining, and I have to replace the shaft. I've been testing the Equinox 900, and compared its shaft to mine, and it's better and stiffer, so I'm looking for the original EQX900/700 shaft, which I think I didn't say clearly in the initial post. Thanks!
  10. I did not make the modification of the speaker to get more depth, but yes to improve the audio underwater, since once the speaker membrane has been wet, it does not sound. Thanks!
  11. I like diving. Sometimes I use the Pulsedive, but I was missing a detector with real ferrous discrimination. So I decided to build one. This project can be applied to Equinox, X-TERRA Pro and Manticore, as their architecture is very similar. I bought an X-TERRA Pro, because it's very capable, it's cheap, has vibration, is goldlover and did the mod of the SOUND UNDERWATER and now I build a shaft for this project. Super simple. The shaft is made with 20mm pvc pipe, that fits perfectly for the handle, and made some thickening to fit perfectly, and adding 4 little "wood hairs" in the corners to avoid rotation (Xterra shaft is a bit square). The length of the mini shaft is 14cm to the bolt, because I use the eqx 6" coil and the Coiltek 5x10. The photos are with the 6" coil. And that's all. Very simple. The shaft can go upside down or viceversa. But it's more confortable as shown. The only thing I don't like it's that the coil wire connection to the pda is a bit exposed. But with a little care, can be used. Also, is stealth. Very small, and can be used whereever you want to use it with discretion. Underwater can vibrate and sounds like a pointer, so you don't "need" headphones. And you get use to read the ID upside-down very easy. And you can carry it everywhere. For me, is a winner mod ๐Ÿฅ‡ ๐Ÿ˜ Hope you find this helpful.
  12. Hi D&P-OR, Thanks for your message. Steves doesnยดt have the original Minelabยดs shaft. Thanks!
  13. Hi, I'm looking for an Equinox 700/900 collapsable shaft, but don't know where to find it. I'm in Europe, Spain. I use one similar from aftermarket, but the quality of the Minelab's is better. Any help, please? ๐Ÿ™ Thanks in advance!
  14. Second search with the XTP. Medium mineralized beach. I ran Beach1&2 modes to test THEM, all metal, 2 tones, tracking GB, 1-2 RS. V12X coil 1:30h run time Nearly all the objects sounded ferrous, negatives. Only the most superficial were non ferrous. Many of them sounded ferrous without ID, and finally were non ferrous. The ring sounded ferrous too at the beginning, and finally about 42-45. I feel that the findings are "big" in size (2 chains... REALLY??) , maybe due to the 8KHz frequency Very stable and deep machine. Not as good as my EQX800, but for it's price, is incredible.
  15. I had BDM coil in the past, and I sold it. It was very very sensitive, too deep, but it falsed enough, in my opinion, and I didn't feel confortable with it, it was big enough and heavy for handy job underwater, so... I sold it. Now I have 8" and 5,5" and the one that I prefer is the smaller one: you can go full power without falsing, accurate as a laser, and for my environment, very rocky, is the best.
  16. Congrats Phrunt, the real costumer care is what really builds brand loyalty. Well done @Nokta Detectors ๐Ÿ™Œ
  17. I got mine since 2019, many many hours using it, with a lot of coil changes, and still working as the first day. 80% in water 20% in land The best pointer I have ever used
  18. Hi StarVatrex, Thanks for your comments! On saturday i did an inmersion, and it sounds fair. Not as high as a pinpointer, but enough to hear the average signals. This, plus the vibration, means YOU CAN USE IT "STEALTH" ๐Ÿ˜‹ Talking about LS Pelso, that where the headphones that failed me in the detection trip. It worked fine till the momment the get off. They worked high, but since they get fail, i cant put the conifidence on them again... maybe again? About the config you said, is very similar to the one i use on the Equinox while diving; i use Beach2, noise canceling, Auto GB with tracking ON, 2 tones, all metal, and the lowest RS possible to hear the signal, and separate the iron density of each beach. To me, 2 tones is the most importante: ferrous or non ferrous. I detect by ear. Iยดm waiting to test the Xterra more extensively... is not an Equinox with MultiIQ, but it seems to work reasonabilly well for its price... and about the outcomes you show, it seems it like and smells well low conductors... ๐Ÿ˜‰
  19. I designed one in my mind. I would like to compose it soon. I will show if I have time... It's so easy to do... ๐Ÿค— I took the first step, and it works ๐Ÿ˜‡
  20. Finally, I got mine. I will make some tests in the future weeks, and will tell you ๐Ÿ˜‰
  21. Taking advantage of the fact that I have several Equinox series coils, I decided to buy an X-TERRA Pro, and make an all-terrain detector that, due to its cost, I did not mind leaving always in the back of the car. So I attached it to the Nox 10x5 coil. Fantastic, I am a fan of hunting with small coil and maximum separation, especially in the water. A few years ago, my headphones in the Equinox 800 broke down on an underwater detecting trip, and it was agony not being able to hear underwater. Now I was wondering how to "free myself" from using headphones underwater. The Xterra has the vibration function, which is a plus, but for me the audio is the most important thing. So, thinking about the matter, I made a parallelism between the sound propagation in the water of, for example, pinpointers, which can be heard ok, and how to achieve these properties with the Xterra. Thus, Iรฑi decided to cover the speaker with a very firm film, and seal the edges with hot silicone, so that the speaker could generate the sound in dry, and that this sound, when colliding with the film, could be transmitted underwater. If the speaker gets wet, even if it doesn't get damaged, it doesn't generate sound properly. And today I did an immersion test. Sometimes I detect in the water up to the snorkel, and as the ears are always underwater, I can hear the sound reasonably well, and combined with the vibration function, means that I can use the Xterra/Manticore/Equinox underwater without the headphones. I hope this mod can help someone who owns Manticore, Equinox or X-Terra Pro models and wants to use it differently ๐Ÿ‘Œ
  22. I have participated in many forums with a wide variety of topics, and for many years, but I have never seen one with such a human quality and as much knowledge as the one you created. DetectorProspector is a unique place, and unique places can only be created by unique persons: THANK YOU Steve
  23. I have used some, and this us my list from worse to the best: - the Yellow ones from Minelab - LS Pelso - Seaghost The Seaghost are incredibly loud and clear, simply the best ones I have ever used. During diving you listen very well, and on dry, are very very loud.
