Woody Apparently Confirms That The 6000 Has No Active Shield
Nedkelly replied to Aureous's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
I think I got a good one as well. Never had any issues. I agree, a 14" round spiral would be great on the 6k. Dropped a few hints to coiltek but must have fallen on deaf ears. -
Slow and steady with a grinder. Out in the goldfields a large flat bastard file. The trick is to sharpen regularly otherwise it can become a big job getting them back into shape. If I want the hoe end sharper for cutting through thick grass and roots then I'll give it a few licks with a finer file at the start of every session.

Where Are All The In-field Reviews Of The E1500???
Nedkelly replied to Aureous's topic in AlgoForce Metal Detectors
Yep I agree. I've had no problems with battery movement. When a cover is available it will eliminate any concerns. Out of sight out of mind. LOL ð I made one out of a neoprene drink cooler, nice tight fit and works a treat. -
Hopefully they will be compatible with the GPX6500, because by the the time they are released the 6500 will be due for release. ð

Second Hand AlgoForce For Sale Already !
Nedkelly replied to Tony's topic in AlgoForce Metal Detectors
Looks like Pioneer's E1500 sold quickly. His add has been taken down. I think he would have found it to be a better performer if he was running better coils. The Sadie wouldn't be my first choice. Small spiral coils make it look very ordinary. In saying that it will always be in the E1500 detector bag because of its size. The other big coil he had I think that there are better options available. The coil cable issue is something I haven't noticed but will check when I'm out next. -
AlgoForce Coils...... Bundled Or Spiral?
Nedkelly replied to Tony's topic in AlgoForce Metal Detectors
Same here, rounds any day. Before the 6000 I only had 2 elliptical coils, the Sadie and 14x9" coiltek. -
Going GPX 5000 Modded - Any Tips?
Nedkelly replied to Gold Ryder's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
I'm in NSW but get down that way regularly. I used to sell gold to Neville Perry before he passed or his brother Jeff. Might try Grappys this time. Due for a trip down there when it cools down a bit. Probably just after Easter before I head to tiboobura. It would be good to catch up and do some comparisons, I'd love to to see the modded 5000 in action. ð -
Going GPX 5000 Modded - Any Tips?
Nedkelly replied to Gold Ryder's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
Yep watched them, I'd like to see the 22" concentric X-coil on the 7000 compared to the modded 5000 with some similar sized coils. Also a modded SD2200 compared with a modded gpx5000 with the same large coil on a larger, deeper target. At the moment my fully modified SD2200 has the edge over my standard gpx5000 with the larger coils and a deep test target. Would the modded 5000 equal the modded SD2200 or better it? If it's better by how much? -
Going GPX 5000 Modded - Any Tips?
Nedkelly replied to Gold Ryder's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
I'm debating whether to sell my gpx5000 or get mick to mod it. I've got a modded SD2200 and would love to see a comparison between a modified SD2200 and a modified gpx5000 with the same large coil on a larger deeper target. If the results were similar I'd probably sell the 5000 and get the large concentric X-coil for my 7000. Then again I'd like to see a comparison between the modded 5000 with similar size coil and and a 7000 with the X- coil. Sitting on the fence at the moment. ðĪ -
The coils I like so far that I own are the nuggetfinder 8x6" Sadie, 9" coiltek elite, 12" round nuggetfinder evo, 14x9" coiltek goldstalker 'blitz' series. They're all stored in the detectors memory. There's one slot left for another coil after further testing. Still haven't tried the 8" minelab goldseeker, 11" minelab goldseeker, 11" minelab commander, 15" round nuggetfinder evolution. Not sure if the coiltek AI coils are compatible but might be worth a try.

AlgoForce Coils...... Bundled Or Spiral?
Nedkelly replied to Tony's topic in AlgoForce Metal Detectors
It's not to fussy what coil you put on. One thing I've noticed with the coils that I've tried is the bundle coils don't need to be calibrated but the spiral coils do. Just my observations. I'm not sure about the larger coils , I wasn't all that impressed with the ones I tried. I think it's better suited with small to medium coils. -

Algoforce Firmware Update 1.08 Now Available For Download
Nedkelly replied to phrunt's topic in AlgoForce Metal Detectors
Don't do what I did and forget to hit the power button on the detector after its connected to the computer. After a couple of hours getting very stressed out I hit the button and bingo , easy as after that. ð I'm not very computer savvy as you can probably tell. ðĪĢ -
Second Hand AlgoForce For Sale Already !
Nedkelly replied to Tony's topic in AlgoForce Metal Detectors
I've got the 14x9 " goldstalker ' blitz' series and it works very well on the E1500, bit of a surprise packet really. Ultra sensitive for its size and nice and quiet over very hot ground just purrs along on the E1500. I think the 'blitz' series were the first coiltek coils to use the litz wire . They was designed specifically to be used with the gpx 5000 in fine gold. But it's also very compatible with the E1500. I'd imagine the coil in the photo would give similar performance. Other coils that work well on the E1500 are the Sadie coil , 9" round coiltek elite, 12" round nuggetfinder evolution. They are the pick of the coils I've tried so far in my collection . -

For anyone that's interested, there's also a coiltek goldstalker 14x9" 'blitz' series coil for sale on gumtree. Looks brand new in the box, a bargain at $140. Its located in Victoria Australia. It's one of the better coils that I've tried on the E1500. -
Some Things To Take Note Of With The Algoforce
Nedkelly replied to phrunt's topic in AlgoForce Metal Detectors
Pieces of conduit or poly pipe with a slot about 15mm cut out also work well . ð -
Just jokes. He seems impressed though, they all look the same inside to me.

First Gold Nugget Finds With The AlgoForce E1500
Nedkelly replied to phrunt's topic in AlgoForce Metal Detectors
Yes a button like the MLs would be nice. When I'm using the E1500 and need to ground balance I sometimes find myself feeling for the button on the back of the handle, just a habit that I'm used to doing. LOL
