  1. This post is about 90 days old. So I pulled up a 90 day price chart of gold. Its gone from roughly $1850 down to aprox. $1650 over the past 90 days. Seems odd to me, as everything else keeps going up, up, and up some more.
  2. I expect pull tabs and beaver tails to be represented as an oval target, and not perfectly round. If so, it should make digging decisions much simpler.
  3. Im sure Minelab will continue to bring new and exciting products to the table, just as they always have in the past. The CTX and Equinox, are still both very capable machines to this day. As technology advances, they will surely get replaced with yet even better products. I believe Minelab has a very bright future ahead.
  4. I have a few questions, as Im not a gold hunter. I only wish we had gold in our back yards. 1. Were the found close to each other? 2. What is the aprox. weight of the small one? 3. Were they located in the Equinox's Gold1 or Gold 2, or ??? program?
  5. I believe the Manticore will have the ability to save up to 10 different profile settings. In was mentioned in at least one early video, a few weeks ago. 10 different user profiles will be a very nice addition in my opinion.
  6. I realize this is an old thread. I read your logbook, from start to finish. I ran out of forum likes for today, just before you paid off your machine, with your finds! Congratulations! Really enjoyed this thread.
  7. STOP IT! The more I see, the more Im wanting one....RIGHT NOW!
  8. Sounds like you and I hunt in similar fashion (parks = coins, jewelry). Personally, I use the 6" coil most of the time. Once a site is very clean, I then switch back to the 11". I do prefer the 6", but I have both at my disposal. Im looking forward to finding a USED Coiltek 10 x 5 in used condition. It may very well be the best of both worlds. Thanks for everyones input!
  9. Quick run down on all the features and settings:
  10. Perhaps their wife controls the check book? I dont know! No remorse for me, and saved quite a bit off the price of a new one. Im hopeing I can purchase a few more models (Deus 2 and future Manticore) the exact same way.
  11. If you hunted trashy parks 99% of the time, would you prefer the Equinox 6" coil, or the Coiltek 10 x 5? Im currently using the 6", and its great in my opinion. But I also hear good things about the 10 x 5 option as well. Additional depth is not really a concern, as the 6" is doing a great job on depth, in my opinion. Just wondering if the Coiltek 10" x 5" would unmask equally as well as the 6", but also allow me to cover a little more ground. Thoughts from those who have experience with both coils please....
  12. Good lord! 50 cm = 19.685" Thats crazy. Users are going to need longer shovels.
  13. Ive got an old Coinmaster TR with the 4B coil. It was a great machine in 1975, but its certainly not the first tool I grab these days! Great company with a long history.
  14. Basically a 20% savings, and Id swear it was brand new. Ive also contacted them again, about the possibility of a Deus 2 open box, and was told they would contact me if and when they ever get some of those models as well.
  15. About 2 months ago, I purchased a Nox 800, brand new / open box, for a little over $700. (about a $200 savings) The online seller had 3 or 4 units at that time, and they all sold fast. Before I purchased it, I emailed the seller, and was told it would have the FULL 3 year warranty. So i pulled the trigger, and it arrived a few days latter. Still had the shipping plastic on the keypad, and the screen protectors and cables were unopened. It looked brand spanking new, minus the open box description. I immediantly contacted Minelab reguarding a warranty. Gave them the serial number and registered the warranty I even called the service center, and was assured, that I had a 3 year warranty. Its been a great detector, and Ive certainly put it through its paces over the last few months. It has rewarded me very well, with a large amount of clad, small amount of silver, and 1 gold ring! Ive followed the same seller since then, and watched them acquire and sell yet another batch of similar nox 800 units (new/open box). I wonder where or how, they are able to get ahold of these open boxed machines, that have never had the warranty initiated. Any thoughts?
