  1. Wow....rough conditions indeed but the pay off was there. You had to work for it! I can only imagine 110 rings for the year in my dreams. Great hunting skills, great locations you have. Thanks for posting.
  2. Yea, here too. I don't get it. The water is a nice 78 degrees and there are quite a few sunbathers, but nobody in the water. I'm thinking the air temp needs to get hotter and humidity needs to move in in order to make them want to cool off in the water. Maybe they are just waiting for the June/summer last school bell to ring before getting wet. I'll be out there. 😁
  3. Nice hunting. I don't see any scratches on those Ray Bans....how did that happen??? What is the gold coin in the 2nd pic? Replica?
  4. I have a junker bag at the house that they go into so they can mingle with each other. If somebody comes over and asks "Ever find anything?" I show them all the junkers first then I break out the good stuff. I'm proud of my junker collection! 😁
  5. Junkers are fun! Love digging something other than aluminum. 😄
  6. Nice! That's what I call taking advantage of the situation. Let us know what else you find.....sounds like fun except for the can slaw.
  7. Man!.......All this negative talk about Minelab starts because they ran a sale on Manticore. I'm sure there are a lot of folks that appreciate the sale and bought one.
  8. 😆Pretty bad when you still have to prove your machine is under warranty at this point!
  9. I just checked Ebay and they are still listing my CZ-21 with 10.5" coil for full price- $1579. I guess you have to make an offer on that one to see how low they go? Probably going to try to sell mine is why I was interested in their price.
  10. I don't understand where you're saying you put the silicone Ray. So you're putting silicone on somewhere AND using the coil cover?
  11. I've got one of those sites too. I nicknamed it "Canslaw Beach". I mainly go there just to hunt the water which doesn't have as much slaw as the sand. I have no idea why it's just only in about a 2 mile stretch of beach, but I do know it's sand from a renourishment project. So not only did they sand the place in, they screwed it for years to come with all the slaw.
  12. They got me out of hibernation a year ago January with the Manticore. But it cost me $1600, so you're getting off cheap. 😆
  13. I see mostly 800's and Excal's still. (some 800's didn't flood!) Did come across one lady who was swinging a Legend a while back. Then there's the older than me sand hunter that I run into all the time with a Ace 300. His wife escorts him to the beach to make sure he doesn't stray too far or stay too long according to him. Ha! Have yet to see a D2.
  14. 👍 It's nice to have a chance at a recovery every so often.
  15. WOW! Now that's a sale. You guys that have been thinking about it.....here ya go. Good till May 6th....figure out a way to come up with the cash by then. Great machine.
  16. Your area seems to be quite gold-rich. 18k is always welcome!
  17. I was thinking of trying that myself to see if I could use the M15 on my longer shaft for 6 hours of sand hunting in the winter when the water is too cold or too rough. Was thinking of tying a fishing sinker under the cuff or even out at the end of the shaft. Glad it works for you.
  18. My experience is that I use it in the water, not the land. (I know, you'd think I'd use a smaller coil in the water for less drag, right?) Let me qualify that by saying I use a tall boy stork leg shaft which is about 4"-5" longer than the fully extended stock Manticore shaft even though I'm only 5' 10". I wanted the WIDE swing path with the wide coil. The combination of the heavier coil on a longer shaft makes my arm tired after about an hour and a half of continuous swinging land use because of it being nose heavy with that set up. However, due to water buoyancy, I can hunt with it for 6 hours in the water and not get arm fatigue. I wish I could tell you how it affects me with the stock shaft, but I never tried it because I bought the stork leg and the coil at the same time to use as a pair. I use the stock shaft fully extended on land with the 11" coil for 6 hours with no fatigue. If you don't fully extend the stock shaft to the red lines like I do, you may not have any worries using the 15" on land. As far as "is it worth it?".....yes, I think so due to the added coverage. It dang sure hits on deep dimes or any other deep coin for that matter. If you hunt unobstructed open areas often where you don't have to worry about running the coil into things during your swing, I would give her a shot.
  19. Nice start....you will love it. Yes, Surf & Seawater is proper but other beach programs should be workable if you want to experiment. Just remember.....16' max depth!
  20. Thanks for your input. I don't prospect (wish I was in a gold area!) but small items sometimes make me wonder what I walked away from when I give up trying to find them. I'll see how the Accupoint does on my dinky rivet heads and 1/16th ounce split shot sinkers. 😆
  21. Thanks guys......if it doesn't work good at the beach for my intended purpose, I'll return yet another pin pointer and look at the Fisher. I don't intend to use it to search holes or pin point a shallow target. (I don't like bending/kneeling down any more than I have to... 😆) I just want one to identify a small target that is already out of the hole in maybe a handful of sand that I simply can't find. Drives me nuts.
  22. Thanks for that link.....I guess I searched the wrong sub forum. I searched "best pin pointer". But that thread is just what I was looking for. After reading through the observations, I settled on the Nokta Accupoint because lately according to Amazon reviews, the MI4 has had a rash of shipments with cracked end caps, even 2 in a row for one guy. Watched several youtube videos on the Accupoint, and it sounds like that's what I need when I sand hunt and can't find the tiny targets that fall through the holes. Why I want to find them, I have no idea!
  23. Good idea, thanks. I'm going to return the ML 35 as soon as it gets here as Ron suggested and will order one of these rechargeable ones. Anybody using any of the 3 above that can chime in here and advise on it? I'm reading the Amazon reviews on them, but you know how that can go.....
