  1. Very cool find! Found one HERE in better condition for $125 US dollars.
  2. Yea, some will go low but my experience with them is 75% of them hit 59-62 because they're fresh drops and the other ones like you are talking about outside that range are very deep and come up looking like they have been down there for an eternity. Caked on sand that you need a chipping hammer to get off and totally green. Those kind will sometimes go high and float up near dime range at 75-80 and fool you into thinking it's a dime. Whenever I see the depth meter showing real deep near the dime range, I start thinking "Could be an old zinc".
  3. Water temp 83 here this morning. πŸοΈπŸ–οΈπŸ˜
  4. I am a beach hunter with non-mineralized sand and not near the iron in the ground that you have. My problem child is aluminum. When I have a piece of non-ferrous aluminum next to another type metal which is also non-ferrous, what you are doing by crossing in all directions usually sniffs out the good target at a different location on the non-ferrous center line. Meaning I have two dots showing up on the line (with the aluminum dot being to the left usually under 12 or so positioning) and the ID #'s bouncing between the two on at least one direction sweep. I run prospecting audio, so that's different from your set up also. I run recovery 4 and sensitivity on dry sand at 21 in beach low conductor mode, again different from what you have yet we both have trash that we are trying to differentiate when close to a good target. I think in your case of iron falsing, the official word from Minelab quoted above that fishersari posted is valuable info to know that may help in your testing/experimenting.
  5. That's what I did 7 years ago! You will love the machine, great decision. Wish it was around when I started to pump the brakes. πŸ‘
  6. VERY nice! I used to tent camp with my parents when I was a youngster at Ft. Desoto campground down here in St. Pete. Now days, your rig is more my style. πŸ˜„
  7. Looks like you did good for how deserted the beach looks. Maybe you're finding leftovers from last summer when it's crowded? Off the subject a bit, but I'd like to see a pic of your RV/camper....
  8. Wow....rough conditions indeed but the pay off was there. You had to work for it! I can only imagine 110 rings for the year in my dreams. Great hunting skills, great locations you have. Thanks for posting.
  9. Yea, here too. I don't get it. The water is a nice 78 degrees and there are quite a few sunbathers, but nobody in the water. I'm thinking the air temp needs to get hotter and humidity needs to move in in order to make them want to cool off in the water. Maybe they are just waiting for the June/summer last school bell to ring before getting wet. I'll be out there. 😁
  10. Nice hunting. I don't see any scratches on those Ray Bans....how did that happen??? What is the gold coin in the 2nd pic? Replica?
  11. I have a junker bag at the house that they go into so they can mingle with each other. If somebody comes over and asks "Ever find anything?" I show them all the junkers first then I break out the good stuff. I'm proud of my junker collection! 😁
  12. Junkers are fun! Love digging something other than aluminum. πŸ˜„
  13. Nice! That's what I call taking advantage of the situation. Let us know what else you find.....sounds like fun except for the can slaw.
  14. Man!.......All this negative talk about Minelab starts because they ran a sale on Manticore. I'm sure there are a lot of folks that appreciate the sale and bought one.
  15. πŸ˜†Pretty bad when you still have to prove your machine is under warranty at this point!
  16. I just checked Ebay and they are still listing my CZ-21 with 10.5" coil for full price- $1579. I guess you have to make an offer on that one to see how low they go? Probably going to try to sell mine is why I was interested in their price.
  17. I don't understand where you're saying you put the silicone Ray. So you're putting silicone on somewhere AND using the coil cover?
  18. I've got one of those sites too. I nicknamed it "Canslaw Beach". I mainly go there just to hunt the water which doesn't have as much slaw as the sand. I have no idea why it's just only in about a 2 mile stretch of beach, but I do know it's sand from a renourishment project. So not only did they sand the place in, they screwed it for years to come with all the slaw.
  19. They got me out of hibernation a year ago January with the Manticore. But it cost me $1600, so you're getting off cheap. πŸ˜†
  20. I see mostly 800's and Excal's still. (some 800's didn't flood!) Did come across one lady who was swinging a Legend a while back. Then there's the older than me sand hunter that I run into all the time with a Ace 300. His wife escorts him to the beach to make sure he doesn't stray too far or stay too long according to him. Ha! Have yet to see a D2.
  21. πŸ‘ It's nice to have a chance at a recovery every so often.
  22. WOW! Now that's a sale. You guys that have been thinking about it.....here ya go. Good till May 6th....figure out a way to come up with the cash by then. Great machine.
