  1. whatta ya talking about? I'm on the west coast and i'm rocking my legend! It's a great device and runs super well on beaches, but I can't compare to any other detectors cause this is my first one! Also the YouTuber monterey magnet man also runs a Legend on beaches. In terms of finds, It's been dry lately due to the sanding in, but late January/ early Feb. I was finding stuff left and right. silver rings, silver coins, a ton of clad and even a gold earring and gold baby bracelet (the bracelet was found at a park). By late feb and early march, everything got sanded in though. Last best find at the beach was a 5.9g 14k gold ring along with a silver ring and 1 silver dime.
  2. Depends on if I find a coin line or not. If I do, I'll hit the coin line hard and double/triple check around the the area for missed targets. If it's parks, I also spend alot of time.
  3. Also current legend users are going to get a discount on the carbon fiber shaft, new arm rest, and maybe the LG 30 coil? Let's go!
  4. 1.11 working smoothly so far, did a park hunt and beach hunt. No issues here except the sanding in!
  5. And here I thought the LG30 would separate better. I guess i'm sticking to my LG35! It's a pretty solid coil when there are targets to be had!
  6. If anything update to 1.09 at the least. I've heard it's the most stable with 1.11 being possibly the final update.
  7. I'm fairly young and I need to workout anyways so i'll be going in with all the strength I can muster and in the end it'll just end up a good nights rest after all that exercise! For certain though, the size of the holes will be based on the sound the machine produces. I wont be making craters for surface finds!
  8. It has yet to be tested on the field, but this xtreme scoop is huge! I'm definitely not going to be missing targets anytime soon, and those zincers that sink into pooled water will finally be able to be extracted! Easily 3 times bigger than my previous scoop and looks fairly durable! Carbon fiber handle makes it light weight and has a great grip compared to the iron rod I am currently using. I'm excited to try this out tomorrow!
  9. Any issues popping up with 1.11 yet? Also isn't this the last update or will it be fine tuned?
  10. I can already tell you that most places are sanded in. You'll be lucky to find a beach that isn't as sanded in, but they do exist! I'm itching to go back down anyways cause I finally got the new xtreme scoop and I wanna dig!
  11. I went back yesterday and it's pretty much over for now. Gravel/rocks got moved to the front of the beach near the water so nothing solid could be found up on the beach. I only found light material like broken zincers, worn zincers and dimes, and 1 copper ring. It isn't sanded in like the other beaches so it still has potential but i'll need to wait for a few cycles for the rocks to be pushed back up when they do. The 4 other beaches I went to that same day had pretty much nothing. No coin lines or anything significant, and I fear that moving away from the city beaches will produce even less, as even less people visit those locations. Still, it might be worth to check out while waiting for low tide, then I'll head back to that one beach again.
  12. Oh that sound terrible. Yeah the most I've seen is 2 others, but it's usually just 1 guy. It would stink if that beach had 10 guys on it. Everyone gets 1 clad coin each, it's that small!
  13. It was very difficult these type of rings are so elusive! It's a small beach too, so it's likely to be picked over by detectorists who live nearby if they get the hint. It kinda doesn't matter as much because the waves will keep bringing more stuff in. However at the same time, I got super lucky to find the rings before that other guy did! Sorry other guy if you're in this forum, finders keepers!
  14. How deep would you say these targets were? I want to know if these more valuable targets were buried deep or if they were kinda in the usual depths of 0 to 10 in down.
  15. Thanks everyone, that beach is seriously the best despite everything else around it being sanded in. The treasures keep piling up there, or at least the coins will anyhow. Hopefully there won't be a flood of detectorists, but I did put out hints about which beach it is! ;) that beach will be my go to beach during lowtide, but I'll need to scout out the area for a another viable beach to detect at in the meantime.
  16. At last the legend has found me a 14k gold ring. Was hitting up my usual beaches; all of them were barren, except the last one that I knew would have a coin line at least! (It's the same beach that has given me at least 1 silver ring every visit) Arrived on site and there was already another detectorist in the water, so I bee lined it to my usual side on the left of the beach. Hit a few targets and then this gold colored object popped out. At first glance, I thought it was another one of those gold colored circles that were usually made of brass and had threads on the inner part. Upon a second look however, I noticed the metal curved inwards, which is when I knew it had to be a ring! There was also alot of crud within the band where your finger is supposed to go. (It prevented me from knowing the gold content of the ring until after I cleared it out.) Afterwards, I circled around the area where I found the first ring, and popped out a damaged silver ring! Oh and I also found a 1951 silver dime. Pretty solid day, that beach is a treasure trove every time I go. 10/10
  17. Too close to home man. I usually head south of there to SC. Best beaches around for finding stuff. San Mateo is a wash though, no swimming allowed.
  18. Surprised you're not getting rained on right now. Nice finds!
  19. My first machine and my entry into the hobby. It's pretty fun to use. There's generally one submenu, but I also had to learn how to save my profiles and notch off numbers for custom discrimination. I have yet to learn how to reset the machine to factory settings though! (which is important when you're updating the machine apparently)
  20. Dude i found like 2 gold pieces in 3 weeks, you're doing a hell of a lot better than I am!
  21. I have an issue with the surf eating my hole, so i'm itching for a new bigger scoop so i can get to the targets within 2-3 scoops before i get blasted. I have the strength to carry that thing for many hours so weight isn't an issue.
