For parks I run ATG (messing around with AThc lately) I am running lower -10, upper at 8 I'll check to see how much it ovals out the centerline today sometime vs. opening up those limits Felt insanely too 'tight' first couple of times out, but... new park gets a high speed sweep just to see if its been hit before..... don't mind hitting places heavily hit, but not with these settings- then I can make time to go back and do a proper grid/slow sweep All my 'wanted' test items (no way I'd run this even on a 50 year old homestead) with just a couple exceptions, some euro token, a newer fenig coin, two pieces of costume jewelry from the 50's didn't "tone off" but...BUT I'm able to run my sensitivity in those same parks I used to use 20 now easily at 25, 28........soooooooo, If my overlap isn't perfect, it still chirps when I pass close or swing too fast I don't run any discrimination...and I'd love to, especially 30-32... (you should see my collection of pull tabs-got a real nice rectangular one with ornate on it last week) but I have a gold earring, and a gold ring that both ping 30, solid...every. time.

not for me, my dirt they ring mid 40's, cross up nice. sound a we bit high or ever so slightly scratchy....but so did that ONE ring I found so far. Pull tabs...lol.. i know i should pass, but..but... ever have a bud dig a signal you passed on..then manage to work into conversation over and over.... 🤐

199% my fault. I actually thought it was the low grade 3030 or replacement for the Etrac. Fell for the hype, the 3o3o has no equal.....yet, too heavy thats its problem, well, too heavy for 6 or 7 hours, got heavy for me around 2, the 800..all day machine. the tones, spent a little time couldn't quite get the distinction I wanted, where as on the others I could get nickels to chirp and signals on either side lower. The CTX would sound different on zinc pennies and wheaties (got video) I put 50 hours on it before the update, very difficult learning curve. I figured the CTX out after 30ish. the common complaints about iron, tiny gold pieces like earrings, also in parks I noticed (in my dirt) that if coins were stacked, the signal was very misleading. almost skipped 3 quarters as the signal was 99, and on both sides of the centerline. Bottom line, it was 60% more money than the 800, a third less than the CTX, fcking thing should have performed as such..no extra coils, no talk of a sniper/4" type coil, THOSE are amazing in trash sites from colonial to current, the falsing on iron. (does seem better after the update) headphones were m'eh. I'm assuming they'll do another update, release coils and I'll quit being a whiny bitch 😄

So mad I sold my 3030, my 800, actually believing the hype about the Manti... no small coil yet, the update..not really sure what it did (for me)... Got half the hours sweeping as I did this time last year, very frustrated. Actually thinking of selling it, buying an 800 with coils (I've easily got well over 1200 hours on the 800) and hoping ML gets its sht together at some point

the ONLY reason I bought the manti, the ctx was simply too heavy for 4 or 5 hour hunts... I'm sure we'll all learn the manti, but right now, the CTX stomps it (my hands, my dirt, my spots) I'm starting to see glimpses of hope, granted an aluminum nail head...is an aluminum nail head...but when you find it in rust and nails at 7ish 8ish" down .....certainly gotta give cred where cred is due

I tend to disagree with that..sadly... I'd bet you a grand, they announce a new CTX4040 this afternoon, and preorders are flying and the value of 800's hits an all time low, our precious Manti's are going for a grand... the reason they continue to dump untested product on the market (all electronics in general) is the vapid desire to have the newest "whatever"....regardless... I'm still laughing at myself for buying one (got mine pretty early, someone announced they just got 2 and the buyer backed out) all the vid's I could see were unboxing and analysis of that photoshopped thing on the cover of the box 😄 updates, and coils minelab, finish what you started!!!

I played in my personal iron dust nightmare site- RS- from minimum to max, the 800 was notable, this one...honestly run RS all way to the max and the chatter increased...seems 5 is where its "at" across the board, I honestly can't tell any diff from 5 to 6, 7 and higher is prone to EMI and halos messing with it, lower..dunno even slowing my swing speed doesn't "feel" (yeah yeah, i know..feelings) my main focus right now too much crap to think about slowing it down, but..that said..I will try this week just to see...who knows

I so loved the small round in the 800, and thought the oval was ok, but the round really fit up in behind around crap where guy told me, he hunts where others wont, or cant. I'd buy a 4" round in a heartbeat

this one, several times, has surprised me how it easily pulls a tiny thing from waaaay down deep. deeper than the 800... and.. starting to think its beating the ctx

Pumping the coil....50/50 found if there was halos or iron close it would grunt..bummer...won't stop experimenting So! Tried these audio settings and radical reduction in pattern (I opened it up to 8, -8 in field) So much iron around this (we found out yesterday it's not virgin, heavily hit last year) 1840s house, pinpointing is quite impossible. Sens set around 22, 23, a bit higher than previously possible. Get a possible target, slowly reduce the swing, turning a full 360 to pinpoint. If I could get a repeatable tone matched with reasonably steady bid for half the circle, I'd dig Had an hour, hit the likely path from back door to privy The silver bracelet, catholic charms... one's stamped 1830. That's how it was in the hole no sht. I brushed off the dirt, but that's how they lay, check the nails, the big one was OVER the center of the cluster. Previous detectorist missed it, vdi was 90s..mixed in all the iron squonks The gilded 1870s naval button ..roofing nails everywhere...vdi mid 40s, but the tones were the huge difference for me today We'll figure this out lads 👍 I do wish they'd run a patch, and speed up the coil release....

bang my head on a tree mostly, LOL I only have maybe...30 hours (vs 1300+ on the 800 for example) so still trying to wrap my brain around how this works, at times it does feel like a CTX I'm more of a tone hunter, any tone. If it crosses its getting dug up. That said I would at least like to be able to hear a decent tone, but it squeaks, or breaks up or does that weird little thing that makes it iffy, allowing me to make a rational choice...life is only allowing a couple trips a week, for a couple of hours, gone for now are the all day two days in a row hunts...for now.. heres the thing, I got permission on a site- 1840 homestead north ohio, ALREADY in just 3 visits, a confederate lead toy soldier, 9 gilded uniform buttons, several mid 1800 buttons, spoons from early 18's, 3 half cents, excellent relics, 1874 world fair token, indians...its a freaking hot spot, best I've hit (potentially) and some of the densest can slaw, iron nails, slag, halos', scrap, pull tabs, did I mention the ghost ring halos?? this thing wants to make mad passionate love to each and every one of 'em...ffs.. ....oh... did I mention they tearing down the house, (the gorgeous 1860 barn is gone) building a new house, going to use dirt from new dig to grade the yard and we're literally working while construction equipment is doing its thing? I'm guessing 2 weeks, maybe 3 before its gone. Super cool old guy owns it so its embarrassing asking what I knew was going to be a noob question...no freaking small coils yet... DigaL, my thinking as well, the diagrams I've seen of shape of the wave influenced by the shape of the magnetic coil, the frequency etc.. coil flat on ground, one pattern, moving coil up down literally adds half a dozen more I'm always always open to anything that may decrease me digging crap
