  1. It's been 8 days since I emailed Nokta. I gave them all the info on the problem and the serial number of my coil. Not a peep or response!!! about my coil issue. I never have not had acompany get back to you in 3 days, let alone 8. I guess we live in a throw away society, They make a great machine, But I do not need this poor service, Even the Georgia service center won't answer multiple phone calls. (wondering if its closed down) In the future I won't bother with the warranty, I'll just go purchase another item ( cheaper and faster that way, also less headaches). Luckily I can afford to do so, but I feel bad for the guy or gal who can't. I can't wait for the excuses I will hear, We are having problems due to covid, We are working on a limited staff, Our internet supplier is having problems. Anyone in a phone booth could respond to an email and give better service. I'm fine with not getting a warranty or service, Just tell me so I can keep on detecting without all the loss of time sending it back and forth. Our society has become accustom to poor service and bad warranty responses. REMEMBER WE SUPPORT YOU, THE LEAST YOU COULD DO IS SUPPORT US!!!! Tomorrow I will buy another 11'' coil for my MK and call it done. Anyone reading this post/rant, do not let this stop you from buying an MK or other Nokta detector they are top notch!!! I'm just bitching about bad customer service. I'm not the kind of guy who makes waves, But I've had enough of companies thinking its OK to NOT respond to a simple email. Customer service is the foundation of a great business.
  2. Jin posted this back in April.... The chart claims “5 key products” under development for FY21. We are in Minelab FY2021 right now... it began in July. Minelab has also been registering trademarks since February. Four new ones so far: MF5 Silversaver Series Geo Sense-PI GPX 6000 ????? That leaves just one going missing.
  3. Coming soon? Not just one, but a series? https://search.ipaustralia.gov.au/trademarks/search/view/2076039?q=minelab Minelab SilverSaver metal detector series
  4. An intrepid forum member passed this along. Interesting, as the name does not sound “recreational” to me, more like something for geologists or exploration companies? November 29, 2020 note: We know now this is related to the new GPX 6000 introduction. https://search.ipaustralia.gov.au/trademarks/search/view/2104206?q=minelab
  5. Hey all, I found this website today that gives those of you outside the US; a US shipping address! To buy things here, sales tax free, and have them forwarded to your door anywhere in the world! Do your due diligence, and make sure things are legit first! But hopefully, they will make products cheaper, easier, and quicker for you all to ship from here!!👍👍 Http://www.shipw.com/
  6. Hello all, Just an update on my 800 that was sent out to ML on July 6th! Just received shipping info for today's shipment, via USPS 2 Day priority mail! Pretty quick turnaround, considering Covid issues!! I had sent in all electronic parts for testing!! And a Repair Center Email below!!👍👍
  7. Steve Howard took care of my warranty issue...I now have a new 6 x 10 coil. I had told Steve I'd buy the old one back. I thought I could cut the mounting ears off, and make a new top, including new ears, and bridge over the spot causing the falsing, and I'd rather have that than no backup at all, and no new products since they were closing. He sent me back the old one at no charge! I also needed the handle and shaft for a GM2 I was trying to buy, and he sent me a the handle and travel shaft at a discounted price! Obviously, the old culture at Whites continues, even though they're going to close. Thanks Whites! Jim
  8. Does anyone know if Minelab service center is closed due to Covid 19? I called for help, got the canned recording promising a return call................................Still waiting Norm
  9. Got a message while I was out of touch in Nevada. Holly? said they were reopening their Oregon repair center for 3 or 4 weeks. She said they'd take care of my GM24K problem, under warranty. Best news I've had since Tuesday Morning...LOL Jim
  10. Now that White’s has closed the factory in Sweet Home, these are the officially designated places to have warranty work and service done. Garrett has purchased White's, and will continue to support the product, with manuals here. 11. There is a thread about this over on Dankowski. After having some muck slung at me by someone over there, who, among other things accused Fisher and me of palming a “Prototype” off on the public.
  12. This is odd. I just tripped over this clicking on the FT logo at the bottom of the Fisher Labs website. It looks new, but has a 2013 copyright date on it, and has models listed for sale that are now longer current. https://detecting.com/store/index.php/ It is basically a First Texas online store, with all three brands listed - Bounty Hunter, Fisher, and Teknetics
  13. For almost a half century, my family and I have enjoyed your multitude of metal detector models, 1st class Customer Support, and such friendly people who have worked with White’s. But most importantly, the family fun you have allowed millions of people across the globe to experience. Mr White’s, from me personally… to help fulfill my childhood dreams of becoming a Treasure Hunter. You see, our family started enjoying the MD’ing hobby about 1970. Then a couple years later as a young eager 7 yr old skinny kid trying my hardest to push that big blue metal box across a school yard, and from there it all began for me. Now, 40+ yrs later as an accomplished MD’erist and multi line dealer, pushing the same MD’ing passion onto as many folks as I come across, I can only wish you a fun filled and well deserved farewell. No reason for me to try and figure out the mistakes made, when how and or why? As it won’t change me, the person you have already helped mold and or the career path I took. I personally don’t care who did or didn’t do something at a certain time as we all only live 1 life on this mother earth and I feel the overall history of White’s has done a remarkable job. I do know this is this fact. There are many thousands of happy families and individuals out there who’ve had the pleasure of enjoying a White’s metal detector for 60+ yrs and to be honest, is an accomplishment most any other family run company would be proud of. Am I bitter? A little since I feel part of me is going away for good. But when I think back of all the friendships made, MD’ing adventures traveled, the countless pictures and memories shared with your detectors in my families hands, a big grin and smile comes across my face and I just chuckle a little at what you have made of me. Many people know, but my family knows best, I built my life around the MD’ing hobby and 30 yrs ago turned it into the most enjoyable thrilling job and career a treasure hunter could ever dream of. Again, All I can say is a big Thanks for a lifetime of fun and dreams fulfilled. Here is a salute to you White’s Electronics for all the great memories.
  14. I spoke to Todd at the factory today, since I have a GMT there for repairs. They will still do repairs for the next 2 weeks; then, if you have a detector that needs repairs you will have to send it to: White’s East Service Center Centreville Electronics 9437 Main Street Manassas, VA 20110 (888) 645-0202 (703) 367-7999 Fax: (703) 367-0868 bobnpaul@centrevilleelectronics.net www.centrevilleelectronics.net I would still call the factory first, just to be safe! Best wishes to all! snakejim
  15. https://www.detectorprospector.com/forums/topic/12929-important-announcement-from-whites-electronics/ Important Information from White's Electronics June 18, 2020 To our valued White's Dealers- This is a very difficult message to write, but the time has come for retirement from White's Electronics. We are suspending manufacturing operations at our Sweet Home facility while we re-evaluate the future of the company. It is never easy to make these decisions, however, we are faced with the reality of intense competition in the industry and ongoing counterfeit instruments coming from China. Lastly, there have been critical material shortages since the Covid 19 shutdown that we now find insurmountable. All of us here in Sweet Home are grateful for your service. We consider each you part of the White's extended family. Sincerely, Ken White American Made Metal Detectors since 1950

  18. Just corresponded with him a few months ago. He passed away two days ago. A great man, many of us will miss. https://rip.ie/death-notice/desmond-des-dunne-ballincollig-cork/425931
  19. Treasure Depot is shutting down tomorrow. Detector/Prospector may get an influx of people wanting to join, to trade and sell detectors.
  20. Any speculation on what they will be? For me I would like to see an Equinox powered by easy changeable batteries instead of having to return to a power source. Anyway, any guesses ?
  21. I was wondering if anyone has heard any new information on Minelabs new Metal Detector MF5 ? Im assuming MF5 would be 5 multi frequencys? Dont know could be wrong? If this topic has been discussed please delete... Picture is from US patent, Trademark website Thanks.. Dave
  22. XP Deus is asking for one to do a survey with the possibility of winning a MI 6 Pinpointer. The survey isn’t long so take the time and you may be a winner Chuck
  23. Both the Fisher website and Teknetics website have been down for at least two days now.
  24. I just got an email about a Garrett survey, aside from what the type of hunting is done, you are also asked what are the qualities you would like in a detector and coil types. It seems what they want the opinion of future buyers. https://garrett.com/metal-detector-survey
  25. The Nokta/Makro AU Gold Finder is on sale currently at at least one dealer for $499.00 with two coils. The 56 kHz AU Gold Finder is a retro knobs style detector somewhat reminiscent of the Gold Bug 2 but with more advanced discrimination features. In what has become a rarity it can be hip or chest mounted, making it feather weight on the arm, and suitable for deep wading in water, especially with the water resistant control box. I'm not sure if this is a clearance price or what, but for $499 with two coils this is a good deal for anyone interested in a full warranty VLF nugget machine at a great price, especially if you like old style knobs. There is nothing over 40 kHz priced even close to this. I had one of these around for some time. It is a very capable machine, but when I did a house cleaning of my detectors a couple years ago I gave it to my brother, who still has it. As an FYI all Gold Racer coils are compatible with the AU Gold Finder, so there is quite a coil selection if your count aftermarket. Just be aware that Gold Racer cables are shorter and so not as suitable for the hip mount feature. AU Gold Finder More Information AU Gold Finder Straight Shaft Modification
