  1. Just noticed this on the White's USA website, offloading of factory machinery. Full list of equipment can be found here Equipment ranging from Forklifts to Scopes and Drill presses Can't purchase any of this in the UK, but I thought it would interest members from the USA Whites-Equipment-List.pdf
  2. My spidey sense is tingling. October 16th, 2020. Keep your ear on the threshold.
  3. https://codan.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/FINAL-INVESTOR-PRESENTATION-20-Aug-20.pdf Metal detector sales up 30% (Recreational 11%, Gold Prospecting 42%) - Africa is the largest market by far (due to gold prospecting detectors) - New gold prospecting model coming GPX 6000 - X-Terra and Safari discontinued - Thirty million invested in Engineering / R&D. No wonder the competition can't keep up! I found it interesting that even with the new Vanquish and Equinox, sales growth is heavily weighted to the gold prospecting models, illustrating the relative size of the markets. The big money is in gold prospecting detectors, as further evidenced by sales in Africa in particular. And although a new GPX model is specifically indicated, there is no such hint about a new coin detector release soon. FY21 OUTLOOK Well positioned for FY21: • Strong start to the year and in line with FY20 • Demand for our metal detection products remains strong • Minelab will benefit from a full year of Vanquish® sales and the release of a new gold detector • Current travel restrictions may impact Tactical Communications business development • Minetec is expected to return to profitability • Strong balance sheet allows us to explore strategic opportunities Business update at virtual AGM on 28th October 2020

  5. I just received this email! Important Information from White's Electronics June 18, 2020 To our valued White's Dealers- This is a very difficult message to write, but the time has come for retirement from White's Electronics. We are suspending manufacturing operations at our Sweet Home facility while we re-evaluate the future of the company. It is never easy to make these decisions, however, we are faced with the reality of intense competition in the industry and ongoing counterfeit instruments coming from China. Lastly, there have been critical material shortages since the Covid 19 shutdown that we now find insurmountable. All of us here in Sweet Home are grateful for your service. We consider each you part of the White's extended family. Sincerely, Ken White American Made Metal Detectors since 1950
  6. Whites Electronics stop operation in June of this year. Based on conversations with representatives, Whites is looking for a buyer and contemplating other options. For all practical purposes, they are currently not in business. Visiting White's web site, you will notice they have nothing in stock. I seriously doubt they will not debut any new detectors in the near future. It breaks my heart. I think most of us in the detecting hobby saw this coming. I don't understand why White's didn't. They let themselves get woefully behind the 8 ball in the gold detecting arena. The GMT is still there best machine. The TDI, first generation design PI machine, is a MAJOR disappointment hunting gold in a highly mineralized desert. All you beach hunters and relic hunters will enjoy this machine but it is lousy at picking up small gold. I was so hoping Whites would have come up with a PI machine at least as effective as the GPX 4500, which I own. The reality is that the whites GMT is still their best Gold finding machine, not the TDI and not the 24K (me too VFL) with the added wingdings that don't make it go any deeper. Dammit Whites............This breaks my heart after all these years. Please come back stronger without some large corporate or foreign buyer.😥
  7. ACCEPT NO IMITATIONS COMPETITION Minelab are excited to launch our Multi IQ: Accept No Imitations competition, exclusively available to our EQUINOX and VANQUISH users. 8. Any speculation on what they will be? For me I would like to see an Equinox powered by easy changeable batteries instead of having to return to a power source. Anyway, any guesses ?
  9. I found a dealer supplier today who still has several New Whites in stock if anyone is looking for one. He has several accessories left as well. It is Whites of the Great Lakes if anyone is needing anything. Was told by them that they were the biggest Whites Distributor and when they got wind Whites was closing they pretty much bought out all they had. I do know they are out of the D2 coil. I needed an 8AA battery pack and that is how I found out about them from the old Whites of the mid south I used to deal with. Anyways, I hope no one minds me sharing this.
  10. White’s maintained their own forum at http://forums.whiteselectronics.com/ In another sign that the company is not being revived, the forum has now been suspended. Findmall also killed off all their White’s forums due to non-sponsorship. Rest assured that since this is not a company funded or sponsored forum, it will not be going away. If anything I will pay extra attention to trying to lend aid and support to White’s owners via this website.
  11. I had been a multi-line dealer since 2005. I moved back to Oregon in 2011 and continued to do so. 75% of the people in my Prospecting club owned Metal Detectors. Of those, at least 75% were White’s. I was living and selling in White’s Country! As a result, I concentrated on that brand. I didn’t give up my other dealerships. I just didn’t order unless somebody needed something. I stocked White’s only. Garrett is a family owned US company with a reputation of excellent Customer Service. Not only that, they’re solid financially. I recently learned that they purchase all the parts in January that they need to manufacture all the detectors for the entire year! That can’t happen unless you have the funds to do so. When I first started in this business, the Ace series was already in place. At the end of the last decade they introduced the AT Series; first the Pro, then the Gold, followed by the PI X and then finally, the Max. Within the past five years they revamped the Ace Series. Not by adding a newly designed coil and changing the rod colors like Tesoro did. We’re talking about REAL improvements. They introduced the new 400 and finally the Apex. They also came up with the Z-Lynk Wireless technology. Needless to say, they do not lack Innovation! If your looking for a great American company to represent, I’d look no farther than Garrett Electronics! ps: I know this is the White’s forum but didn’t know where else to put it so those that may need or want the information could get it.
  12. Things look to be over for White’s, as dealers and distributors either liquidate stock, or in the case of some dealers, shut down permanently. White’s has been lining up service options for their customers. These are the latest officially designated places to have warranty work and service done. I have added them to the service thread pinned at top of page. 13. It's been 8 days since I emailed Nokta. I gave them all the info on the problem and the serial number of my coil. Not a peep or response!!! about my coil issue. I never have not had acompany get back to you in 3 days, let alone 8. I guess we live in a throw away society, They make a great machine, But I do not need this poor service, Even the Georgia service center won't answer multiple phone calls. (wondering if its closed down) In the future I won't bother with the warranty, I'll just go purchase another item ( cheaper and faster that way, also less headaches). Luckily I can afford to do so, but I feel bad for the guy or gal who can't. I can't wait for the excuses I will hear, We are having problems due to covid, We are working on a limited staff, Our internet supplier is having problems. Anyone in a phone booth could respond to an email and give better service. I'm fine with not getting a warranty or service, Just tell me so I can keep on detecting without all the loss of time sending it back and forth. Our society has become accustom to poor service and bad warranty responses. REMEMBER WE SUPPORT YOU, THE LEAST YOU COULD DO IS SUPPORT US!!!! Tomorrow I will buy another 11'' coil for my MK and call it done. Anyone reading this post/rant, do not let this stop you from buying an MK or other Nokta detector they are top notch!!! I'm just bitching about bad customer service. I'm not the kind of guy who makes waves, But I've had enough of companies thinking its OK to NOT respond to a simple email. Customer service is the foundation of a great business.
  14. I tried to call the Sweet Home Oregeon facility. All that happrned was just a recording that kept on replaying over and over. So being an ex Whites dealer I decided to try Whites of the Mid South. Dwight the owner helped me set up my little shop when I got going. Anyways they told me they only had a few units left and they did have a lot of accessories left. I chatted a bit about how sad it was that Whites were no longer. Dwight seems to think the covid mess going on is part to blame. I guess it is possible. I asked them if they were going to pick up another brand and keep on selling metal detectors. They said no. I was surprised by that response. That same facility that is Whites of the Mid South is a Lawn and Garden Coop type place and one of the largest Old Timer knife dealers in the state. I guess being a die hard whites distribution center they do not have the heart to sell another brand. Heck if I were them I certainly would. Anyways....just thought I would share my findings.
  15. Steve Howard took care of my warranty issue...I now have a new 6 x 10 coil. I had told Steve I'd buy the old one back. I thought I could cut the mounting ears off, and make a new top, including new ears, and bridge over the spot causing the falsing, and I'd rather have that than no backup at all, and no new products since they were closing. He sent me back the old one at no charge! I also needed the handle and shaft for a GM2 I was trying to buy, and he sent me a the handle and travel shaft at a discounted price! Obviously, the old culture at Whites continues, even though they're going to close. Thanks Whites! Jim
  16. Coming soon? Not just one, but a series? https://search.ipaustralia.gov.au/trademarks/search/view/2076039?q=minelab Minelab SilverSaver metal detector series
  17. Jin posted this back in April.... The chart claims “5 key products” under development for FY21. We are in Minelab FY2021 right now... it began in July. Minelab has also been registering trademarks since February. Four new ones so far: MF5 Silversaver Series Geo Sense-PI GPX 6000 ????? That leaves just one going missing.
  18. Years ago I thought of a competition of sorts of getting metal detectorists together to go through a 'course' which would be akin to a test garden. BYO detector and see who could 'tell' what was and what wasn't at each stop on the course. This is nothing like that. haha https://minelabmetaldetectors.cmail19.com/t/ViewEmail/j/909B652EEB5D9FC52540EF23F30FEDED/DB0BCE1DBD546B193FEC1D8A50AFD3BD
  19. Hello all, Just an update on my 800 that was sent out to ML on July 6th! Just received shipping info for today's shipment, via USPS 2 Day priority mail! Pretty quick turnaround, considering Covid issues!! I had sent in all electronic parts for testing!! And a Repair Center Email below!!👍👍
  20. I just completed a survey that was sent to me via a link in my email. Minelab said it was going to produce informative videos and it asked what kind I would like to see. 21. An intrepid forum member passed this along. Interesting, as the name does not sound “recreational” to me, more like something for geologists or exploration companies? November 29, 2020 note: We know now this is related to the new GPX 6000 introduction. https://search.ipaustralia.gov.au/trademarks/search/view/2104206?q=minelab
  22. Minelab has sent me a couple of emails to 'join the team' and I have attempted to sign in but the Wooly marketing website requires a twitter, facebook or instagram account. I don't have these and no one responds. What is this 'team' all about? https://ambassador.wooly.com/minelab/signup/join/S0MyWXFUTGc4c05zMWcwOXBBVkFTUUQySjRUTWdCMnRFVUJ6cHhKQlFsM3I4blFzV1lPcld4VDJYOW96NEQzTHBSSjBOVVUxdmtaTW45VUp1bVdOcWc9PQ== Mitchel
  23. Does anyone know if Minelab service center is closed due to Covid 19? I called for help, got the canned recording promising a return call................................Still waiting Norm
