That's great!! They must have gotten the backordered coils! That means the turnaround time on mine should be quick!

Just got my coil back today from Minelab! In fact, i was writing on phrunt's ( the coin king ) 20 page thread, when it arrived! Weird!!  Anyway, the coil is brand new, and included a new coil cover, with rubber gaskets and shaft bolt! I sent the coil back stripped, so kudos to Minelab for including these at no charge!  I don't know if the coil tabs are any different on this one, and the mold seams are still on the tabs! But we will see how it holds up! I'm still under warranty for a few more years so no worries!

Or at the very least (Minelab's favorite way), include some inserts with the coils, it would be so simple…and certainly would be far more expedient than having to replace whole coils.

Donut on another forum told me to only tighted the coil nut just where the coil swivels easy and not to crank down hard and get it super tight. This adds stress and then an accidental bump against a solid object can add just enough additional stress to break the ears. I guess that is what is happening. Now I am more careful since I was trying to get them very tight.

I was disappointed when Minelab came out with this type of coil because I had coil ears break on the 3030 and no amount of glue or heat would fix it.  I bought an outside repair kit which made the ears out of a different material and then you attached that to the broken coil with plastic fastners.  That cured me from tightening the bolts on coils.
