Hobo
Can someone tell me who makes the Jimmy coils for JS? Thanx
Steve Herschbach
Well, right now I think either White's or Miner John (Razorback). The Jimmy Sierra coils pictured on his website at http://jimmysierra.com/tdi_loops_menuC.html have Miner John stickers on them, except the T-Foot. Not sure about that one. The sticker on it says made in Sweet Home, where White's factory is located. Hobo
Thanx Steve, l was wondering about the 5 1/2 x 9.
Steve Herschbach
The Dual Field 6 x 9? That started as a White's labeled coil. Then Jimmy took it over for awhile. I think the story is Dan Guyer at White's made the initial TDI specialty coils. Dan was the White's PI guru. Unfortunately he passed away, and I think that was the end of those coils, and then Jimmy went to Miner John. Could be wrong on that, just vague memory and best guess. Hard Prospector
Dan Guyer also made a hand full of TDI 4x6 mono "shooter" coils (yep, same plastic housing as the goldmaster shooter coil) and I have found more small nuggets with this loop than any other TDI coil. Its been my experience, no matter how nasty the ground is I can run my TDI SL at max sensitivity / GB "off" swinging this coil. When I heard Dan had died (God rest his soul) I heard that Whites had little interest building his TDI specialty coils. What a shame but not surprising. PastTom
Picky point Steve, but your graphic lists the T Foot as a single field and its a dual field coil. The prior and no longer made version called Big Foot was a single field, I believe. PastTom
Steve Herschbach
Want to hear the funny part there? First, you are correct - good catch and I fixed the graphic. Second, I grabbed the image from White's website at http://whiteselectronics.net/pulseloops.png The original is incorrect! I actually had a Bigfoot TDI coil at one point and it was single field. I did not know the T Foot was different. I do not like inaccurate information and want none on this website if at all possible. I appreciate you pointing that out Tom
