How Do You Backup Your Data?

Recommended Posts

Hey Mitchel

another thing I didn`t mention, but it`s something I use ALL the time, sometimes 2 or 3 times a week.  If you are talking about you only want to save 25 meg of data that you have altered, email it to yourself from one account to another. I send from a hotmail account to a yahoo account. That way you always have a copy in your sent folder of one account and your in box at another account. And doing this you always have for ever a copy of every back up you have ever sent.  cheers Dave

I use backblaze, unlimited data backup of my PC, videos, pictures, everything on my pc , I pay $3.96 a month for the 2 year plan. I figure, buying a 2 new hard drives every 2 or 3 years, so they clone each other and setting it up, ect... costs basically the same, but backblaze runs in the background of my pc, backing up everything. Has both web and mobile app. I think there are others out there like carbonite, ect.... but you can never replace your pictures, videos, and data , better to be safe than sorry. If you dont want your sensitive data like your home porn videos and pictures seen by others put it on DVD, hehe..

Here is a chart that I have found that gives 'just the facts' about different sizes and speeds so you can make more informed choices about what you want in that regard.

The reason I was looking at this was because I was in a Costco (like many of us) and saw a 5TB external hard drive for sale for $89!  I can remember when I was in the IBM memory business and 2MB of ram was over $100.

What could they be doing with this and our detectors now?
