mn90403
Can the 3030 use the WM 12 or the 7000 use the WM 10? I tried with the 7000 and the 10 and couldn't get a connect. I'll be trying again. Anyone else try it?
Steve Herschbach
I was initially excited by the idea that the GPZ 7000 might be able to use the same wireless module as the Minelab CTX 3030. I own a CTX also, and I figured it would be great for a backup, or to run dual modules, one on each shoulder. Unfortunately, I was told there was an interference issue, and so the CTX WM10 module is running on a different frequency than the GPZ WM12 module. I have not given mine a try, but the theory is they should not work. Bummer.
mn90403
How much is that WM12 in the window?
Steve Herschbach
The WM10 is $275 Australian and $249 U.S. and my guess is WM12 is the same?
DDancer
I've not found anyone who's selling extra parts and pieces....
Steve Herschbach
Minelab seems to have done an poor job of having plenty of accessories ready at time of release. Especially spare batteries. Anyone in sales knows the time to sell accessories is when the credit card is out and the customer is in the buying mood.
Jonathan Porter
I think the WM 12 might work with the CTX 3030 though, as in its backwards compatible, but I've not tired it to find out. JP
AUddicted
They could have waited a month or two, stocked up on parts then released the machines. I'm glad they didn't wait.
Steve Herschbach
I did finally try it. My WM 12 (GPZ module) will work on my CTX 3030 so it is backwards compatible. My WM 10 (CTX module) will not work on my GPZ 7000. Seems like they should just discontinue the WM 10 and ship both detectors with the WM 12.
