Using A Pro-find 35 Without A 9v Battery

If you've read some of my posts, you know I hate 9V batteries. I finally finished a working prototype of a 9V voltage booster so I can use a rechargeable LiPo in my Pro-Find 35. Here are a few pics:

I was hoping to use loose AAA cells for this, but it would require permanent modification of the end cap and I'm not ready to do that yet.

Planned to mod my F2 (2x9v) some time ago .. in the end it‘s probably easier to get one of those 9v usb rechargeables

I know I've taken the hard way. Part of the reason I do it this way is to release some of my frustration at metal detecting companies who are still stuck in the 1980s.

Nice garage mod, mh!  The White's TRX gives the user the option of one 9V or two AA's.  I've always gone the AA route.  I haven't measured the run time but it's multiple hunts (where my typical hunt is ~3.5 hrs).  WAG is >25 hours.

The 9V should have gone out with the transistor radio.  Come to think of it, I still have one of those.?

The fisher / Teknetics f-pulse takes two AA .. one of the reasons I‘ve choosen it. Sadly the new firmware version isn‘t as good as the first one I had.. should have kept it

I heard about the F-Pulse issues and that's one reason I stayed away from it.

EBL 9V batteries are some of the best, and have been tested against other rechargeables. They consistently output very close to their rated capacity vs others. They aren't outrageously priced either.

I use these with my Tesoros and Garrett Carrot.  Picked up a 4 pack of 600mah 9vs and charger for 10 or 12 bucks about 2 years ago and they are still going strong!!  No problem getting 2 full  days in the tesoros and 3-4 in the carrot.
