  1. Ceril I have a modified 2200 and it gets deep gold with the large coil u can try it if you want I also have a moded 5000 it will change your mind for sure at a outing I will bring I them if I can Lots of family cancer show going on now so maybe in a few month seeing is knowing good luck Does not really amount to the detector as much as the operator knowing what to look for on the ground lots of reading on prospecting looking for the right rocks pays off best I have found a lot with out a detector just breaking bedrock and looking at quartz like the old timers did pays of way better for me Still need to get the 5000 back so time varies on that offer
  2. Sad news but as said his health was bad for a few years if the razzed you he liked it was to see how you were and maybe because he liked you for one tough man his heart and honesty was second to non He had helped so many with his golden pointy finger and that damn dingier worked 100% I was very fortunate to be in his life the past 20 yrs As he was one of the original four that made the WSPA A small prospecting / metal detecting club to show members how to find and use detectors to find and identify mineral GOLD Deposits On our own claims Mr B Godspeed my friend and his family you will be missed by many
  3. Pretty bad move guess the used 5000 s Will go up in value maybe they got mad over all the ones who modify it and make it better Feels sour
  4. Worst I did was go to Montana fly fishing and forgot my reels stopes in Dillon Montana to my sweet spot and damn no reels Had to go to the store and buy one thank god they had the Loomas reels at a good price spent that Christmas fishing the Clark fork 25 degrees cast bring it in dip in the river to unfreeze then cast again it was finnaly a good day catch and release every cast plan was go to seAttle and home missed the good spot been lucky on the detector stuff did for get the pick once but used sticks We all do it as long as you make it home safe and don’t leave your detector I hear of that happening a few Times dohh
  5. In the past I feel most held there knowledge close to the cuff so to say I agree there is a lot of info and a lot Knowledge that is shared now days the known gold fields have been beet to hell and now most are going after scraps it dose not take long time for 2/3 guys now days with the tech to clean it up prospectors need to be that prospectors and work out side the box if you are going to make great finds 25 yrs of watching a lot of people the big Jauns are rare thanks again for being so free on info it helps us all The days of the sun Bakers are soon to fold away my 2 centavos
  6. Thanks Steve for the info it should help a lot of people out getting started The best detector is the one you use and learn most are capable once you learn how to use it I still have a old gold bug it has its place
  7. Has anyone ever used silver wire in a coil being the most conductive metal it would be expensive could it be beneficial to even use it
  8. Everybody is on it above I figure the old timers counting color going up the draw you see we’re they stopped No more flour not enough to pay we’ll all the light stuff shuts off and some times going above the draws were the old timers stopped well the heavy’s don’t move much and it can pay well the old timers were very efficient in most places so if you see a clay layer work it and don’t bother thinking they missed much below that as one said the only pay in the draw is working is the sluff that came in in the past 100 years go above there workings most ridges were gulches as it erodes away kind of a high low high low in the erosion for millions or billions in some places as you work and put in the time you get a Sence to follow like the old timers had every day working hard for years they get a natural instinct and if you put in that time so will you It’s out there and they only thing that pays off is hard work and a lot of research Best of luck to you as ide rather be luck than smart

  13. We’ll I guess my 5000 ain’t missing much with the correct settings Modified stronger not modified ain’t missing much now we need To do A speci test like to see that no detector does it all but I’ll stick to the modes2200 and a 5000 and a gold master for the piles but I am tempted honestly to modify the 5000 ?
