  2. Thank you for the input, fortunately for me all my detecting is on dirt appreciate it
  3. Just started delving into Reese's book and really enjoying the read a lot of knowledge packed into a great book, and well worth the price Thanks Reese
  4. is it worth purchasing the 11x7 DD Axiom coil since I already have the 11x7 Mono coil I do like the Iron Check on the Axiom which can only be accessed while running the 13x11 DD but I sure do not want to run that 13x11 coil all the time just to be able to access the Iron Check on the Axiom, so this is one of the reasons I am thinking about purchasing the 11x7 DD are there other advantages of the 11x7 DD Axiom coil that I am over looking, I know DD coils handles EMI and mineralized ground better, but are there other things I should consider that the 11x7 DD can do better than the 11x7 Mono, just picking peoples minds trying to figure out what I want to do will the 11x7 DD coil see deeper than the 11x7 Mono coil ??? these are question I keep going round and round in my mind so any insight would be great Also thought about waiting for Detec to get off their Butts with after market coils for the Axiom but not sure I want to wait that long, and is there any word on the after market coils from Detec on after market coils any recommendations on this would be greatly appreciated Thanks to all that read and reply
  5. Seen that I am going to get one of those also but I also want to put a screen protector on the screen of my Axiom before I put the cover over the head unit think I will get some of that coating and try it on one of my Legends first then if it works put it on the Axiom screen
  6. Yes sir Like i said this is an all new learning experience for me, and one of the big problems is trying to get the VLF mentality out of my big fat head, LOL
  7. thinking about trying this stuff on my phone and maybe my new Axiom, plus a slip on cover for the Axiom has anyone ever tried anything like this on a detector screen before https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0C9LGCC8H/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A1YCN99H7TYRNH&psc=1
  8. Hi Steve performed another test in a different area GB numbers were 49 and 25 this time I paid close attention to the GB numbers, this was with the 11x7 Mono decided to try some of the settings you suggested in one or two of your threads with my threshold at -6 and sens at 4, this test had a different outcome where the 11x7 ran very quiet, it was a different area in my yard so based on that I am thinking it was just the area I was in, this Axiom is a new learning curve for me performed a factory reset my settings were slow, fine, GB 49 and 25, threshold at-6 sens at 4 and it ran great with the 11-7 mono so I know it is not a defective or faulty coil, again I believe it was just the area I was doing my initial familiarizing test with the Axiom, with the 11x7 and the settings I had set it actually spanked my two little test nuggets
  9. already changed back to the 11x7 Mono and going to do the factory reset, you sound like me in the fact I perform a factory reset every time I go out with all my detectors and then set things up to the ground I am currently going to detect, it does not hurt anything and it only takes a few seconds to do it,good thing my memory is still good because I have some settings that are specific to the site, that I input back into my Legend, plus it helps that I keep a little log book in my pocket and jot down what settings I used each time I go out and detect. Thank you for your suggestions though greatly appreciated
  10. My name is Don Smith thank you for letting me know how you and Garrett determined yours was a defective 11x7 mono, going to give it one more shot then I guess I will call Garrett
  11. I am going to give it another shot with the 11x7 mono again before I say it is a bad coil, where I tested it all detectors struggle so I need to get out away from where I started just to make sure it was not the ground or the way I had the Axiom set up or what not enough time on the axiom to say its a bad coil or anything else, thats the one thing I like about having threads and post to read gives me things to try, all I will say is the 13x11 DD had no issues of running stable it quieted rite down with very little effort on my part, I am going to try the 11x7 again tomorrow and play with the settings using some that was suggested on a few of the post and threads @oregon72 how did you finally determine it was in fact a bad coil, on your Axiom, is there something I should look for or watch for ???
  12. As the header reads picked up an Axiom played around a bit on my 1.6 acres started out with the 11x7 Mono and could not get it to run stable at all, no power lines above ground or below close to where I was playing, cell phone was not in my pocket, no metal in my shoes or in my pockets set up my threshold to where it was barely heard, set the tones to my liking Ground Balanced, performed frequency shift did both the GB and frequency shift several times, tried lowering the sensitivity, sensitivity at 1 and 2 nothing would smooth it out, tried switching from slow, medium and fast, also tried going fine, normal, large, and salt with the 11x7 Mono, nothing helped can not recall what my Ground balance numbers were with the 11x7 Mono I switched coils to the 13x11 DD and went back through adjusted the sensitivity to 2- 3 was even able to push it up to 5 before it was getting a little to sparky, it ran smooth as silk at a setting of 2 and 3 on the sensitivity, and even 4 on the sens was usable but I kept it around 2-3 my yard has a extreme amount of magnetite and heavy salt content which is what I believe was giving the 11x7 mono fits, this is my theory anyways, swung over two small test nuggets that I have thanks to Reese Townes, have not weighed either but they are tinny with the 11x7 mono I could not hear those two little nuggets other than a couple little chirps here and there, because of all the ground noise I was getting, but with the 13x11 DD those two little nuggets were very audible and could be heard very well with the rise in the threshold two little bloop, bloops the 13x11 DD throws the balance of the Axiom off quite a bit though but the weight is manageable, I am going to go ahead and pick up a 11x7 DD, just to get the balance back and have when situations occur that the 11x7 mono does not work or cannot be used for a first high end PI I am pretty happy with my purchase and I got a pretty good deal on it, it will take some learning like any other detector but I will get there I have been reading all the threads and post that pertain to the Axiom, and appreciate every ones post about the Axiom especially Mr Steve H as it helps with the learning curve of the Axiom I did swing over an area in my yard with the 13x11 DD and got a booming Woo Woo hit, that I will dig up in the future as I have to take it easy because my back is a bit jacked rite now in fact I ended up in the hospital last Saturday because of a messed up disc in my right lower back, but I am looking forward to my new adventure with the Axiom
  13. I am a member of the Rutus group, if I see anything I will let you know
  14. Nice recovery, looking forward to receiving your book tomorrow
  15. Is there anyone that still repairs whites detectors if needed, that's my issue with both the ones I found with whites no longer in business, in my mind the value just is no longer there even though one is still new in the box and one has only been ran for about an hour 600-700 might be a good deal but not 800 or 900, they are only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for them at this point, and not being able to get them warrantied if something is wrong rite out of the box that is pretty huge in my mind
  16. I have found a new in box Whites TDI that a dealer has, (I know whites is out of business) but what would the Value of a new in box TDI SL Camo version be, this dealer actually has two one brand new in box and one that was put together and tested for about an hour so what would either of them be worth
  17. Yeah that one went over my head LOL, had to re read your reply before I realized what you meant LOL
  18. Even though these scam adds are easy to spot on most of them, the only sure way to know you are not going to get scammed is too purchase in person from someone you trust or purchase from a legitimate dealer, I browse the sale adds on all the sites like Craigslist and offer up but that is all I do, I live by if it sounds to good to be true it most generally is a scam and buyer beware, it is the only safe way that exist anymore, price alone should tell someone that add is a SCAM but there are some gullible people out there these days, and please do not take what I am saying that I am calling you Gullible phrunt I am not, just saying there are some that are gullible
  19. Yes sir I have received those emails like you describe I just delete them and move on
  20. Thats the unfortunate part Chuck, there is a sucker born every day, there is also a CTX3030 listed by someone else for cheap and a Garrett ATX for like $300 and something LOL, price on all these alone should be enough to tell people they are SCAMS, the sad part is all those adds are probably linked together by the same persons
  21. Also look at the date the dude signed up to sale on Offer up, just recent Sept 23 of this year (BIG RED FLAG)
  22. Good Luck I am still waiting for a reply back with the serial number LOL
  23. Man oh Man there is sure a lot of scams going on, on places like offer up and Craigslist these days here is just one on Offer Up and there are three more but this one is the worst I sent a message and ask for the serial number like I am an interested buyer https://offerup.com/item/detail/527912ed-4b01-3607-a0ea-5055398cad19?q=metal+detector
  24. 25. I sure hope the Accupoint is not as big as the Pulse Dive or as heavy, but that photo sure looks like it is going to be as big, The pulse dive you could use as a club to defend yourself with
