  1. personally I have not seen one video yet that I feel would give us any idea of what the V80 is capable of or what the audio actually sounds like or anything yet and we may not since they are not being shipped to the U.S for sale, the Q35 is coming to the U.S but personally I am no more interested in the Q35 then I am the new Xterra Pro or new Simplex Ultra the two detectors that I would love to see come to the U.S the V80 and the new Rutus Versa we here in the U.S may never see either of those two detectors which is sad if you think about it
  2. Ok received my Lingo's and they work great with plenty of volume and the two little LLs show up by the Bluetooth Icon on the Legend screen, boom mike not an issue it swings back out of the way so you do not even know it is there finally my search for some Bone conduction Headphones is over
  3. I wear hearing aids so earbuds and other things are out of the question and I hate wearing over the ear headphones so I have been using the Avantree Torus neckband speaker system which I love by the way, but I was out playing around with my Legend today in the lite rain no Less and decided to try something with my Legend and my hearing aids which I have tried the same thing before but it never worked, my hearing aids are Bluetooth capable so they will connect to my Cell Phone,Lap Top or anything else that is Bluetooth capable I attempted to connect my hearing aids a few months ago to my Legend, which they connected up fine in fact they connected very quickly unlike some of the other earbuds and different devices I have tried, the problem was I could never get any tones coming through my hearing aids from the Legend at that time, I can listen to music through my hearing aids and videos while on my PCs, but never could get sound (Tones) from the Legend, but that changed today I got to thinking about it and realized when I listen to music from my cell phone or listen to videos on my cell or PCs, al I have to do is two quick taps on one of my hearing aids for them to switch from hearing aid mode to headphone mode, so I decided to try this while I had my Legend connected to my hearing aids and low and behold I was hearing very loud and very clear tones through my hearing aids, plus I was able to hear what was going on around me, Needless to say I let out a big Whoooooopeee and about gave my wife a heart attack LOL, there seems to no lag at all but I will have to do some further testing but man if these work it will be a game changer for people that require hearing aids like myself and want to hear the tones through their hearing aids, the hearing aids I have are not cheap but compared to some they are cheaper than others by a lot my hearing aids cost me somewhere in the neighbor hood of $1200 but that is cheap compared to most hearing aids
  4. The one downside of the Lingo's for me is they do have a boom mike that is permanently attached, but the boom mike can be swiveled out of the way so it should not be an issue at all
  5. By the specs Craig they should work as good as the Torus I would think but will let you and others know
  6. i have been using the Avantree Torus with my Legend and a few other detectors, and they have been working great, but I have been on a quest to find a set of Bone conduction headphones to use with my detectors, and I think I have finally found some also made by Avantree, these are a new product made by Avantree Link below to the Lingo's https://www.avantalk.com/collections/homepage-featured-products/products/lingo these should work for anyone wanting some Bone Conduction Headphones, I have placed an order for these so I will update after I receive them and have a chance to try them out for $49 to me they are worth a try. below is the Spec's of the Lingo's taken from Avantree's site Specifications • Bluetooth Version: 5.1 • Supported Profiles: A2DP, AVRCP, HFP and HSP • Audio Codec Support: aptX HD, aptX low latency, aptX, SBC • Operation Range: Class ‖,10m/33ft • Talk Time: 12 hours • Music Time: 10 hours • Earbud Weight: 41g
  7. If I change any settings on my detectors while detecting I re ground balance, if I move 20 feet over to another spot even if it is with in the same area I re ground balance, as Mr H said it only takes a few seconds and you have nothing to loose and may even gain.
  8. They Have a Facebook group, that is associated with a Page Mining Company does not have much about them on Facebook though
  9. I am curious also Chuck I live in Arizona and have never head of that one either
  10. My coil covers get pretty scratched up because I scrub the ground, when at all possible, its the way I was taught so I continue to scrub the ground
  11. probably a simple answer to this but What is detector tape if you do not mind me asking
  12. I use a good electrical tape to seal my coil covers on and change it ever so often when it starts looking ragged, I hate taking the coil covers off to clean the debris that accumulates between the coil and the cover, so for me its just better to seal them with electrical tape some of the coil covers are a pain in the butt to remove like on the Legend, and then some coil covers almost want to fall off
  13. Yep, not everyone ventures onto Facebook so I end up posting things to different forums also there does seem to be some confusion from some on Facebook about the differences in Threshold being utilized on the Legend, and some think a reference threshold is a true or live threshold, they do not think that they are two different types, even had one person on Facebook to tell me I was full of crap in a PM, over that post on Facebook LOL
  14. I run in gold mode 98% of the time when detecting for nuggets or coins, simply because gold mode gives me the best depth over all the other modes in my opinion, and I just like detecting in gold mode I like the threshold that the gold mode utilizes and I just feel it suits my detecting and the ground I detect on the best, yes I am probably costing myself in some ways and maybe even missing a few things, but really do not care as no one is going to hit every target out there anyways, there is one park in my area so I only hit it occasionally, and the areas I mainly hit here where I live, are for nuggets so Gold Mode is what I have settled in on the area I am in is a known gold and silver area so I do a lot of detecting for nuggets here, at one time Buffalo Bill Cody owned over 100 gold and silver mines in this area, and the club I am a member of, (Just recently Joined), has claims we can detect in this area so I go out and hunt for the illusive little yellow rocks and a couple of ghost towns that are in this area honestly I am swinging the Garrett 24K a lot of times with the 4x6 inch coil on it as I thoroughly enjoy using the 24K more than I do the Legend for what I do, I do carry both my Legends out with us with the 6 inch round LG15 and the 6x9 LG24 coils but very seldom do I swing it while detecting for nuggets but occasionally do
  15. as the header reads, Just Learned something about the Legend today I run in Gold mode 98% of the time, with my threshold set as low as I can get it in gold mode and still hear the faint mosquito buzz, my setting would be around 9-12 and the pitch of the threshold would be somewhere around 9-13 but it was always very hard to hear the threshold, even with the Legend volume set at 6 which is max Volume. What I learned today while playing with the settings in Gold mode is the AG (Audio Gain) acts as a secondary volume control of the threshold in gold mode, I had the threshold set at 12 and the pitch of the threshold set at 13 and increased the AG in gold mode to max which is 6, when I hit max AG the threshold in gold mode literally increased to where it was way to loud, at a max AG setting which is 6, I was able to decrease the threshold down to 3-6 and the pitch of the threshold down to as low as 4 and had no issues of now being able to hear the threshold in gold mode, i always ran my AG at 3 in gold mode prior to this discovery and never could or barely hear the threshold but adjusting the AG in gold mode to 5-6 I now can hear the threshold in gold mode at a much lower settings of the threshold, I was also able to decrease my volume level in gold mode by increasing the AG level while in gold mode and still be able to now hear the threshold I tried this while in park, field and beach modes threshold and adjusting the AG to max made no difference, increasing the AG to max, it had no affect on being able to hear the threshold or not in those three modes the threshold in Gold mode is totally different from the threshold in park, field and beach modes,in park field and beach modes the threshold being utilized in those three modes is what is called a reference threshold in Gold mode the Legend utilizes what is known as a True Threshold, and there is a huge difference in the two different types of threshold being utilized in the Legend. If you do not understand the differences in the two different types of threshold being used in the Legend you will have to look it up because it is to much to type for me with a little searching on google search you can learn the differences between the two types of threshold I hope by posting this it helps some that was struggling hearing the threshold in gold mode
  16. Agree with you, I will end up getting one eventually, as Ridge Runner stated where there is a will there is a way
  17. Well the new V80s are in the dealers in Canada now to figure out how to get one shipped to me in the U.S from Canada, most likely will not happen as I have been told by a couple of dealers in Canada that they were told by Quest to not ship any to anyone that has a delivery address in the U.S
  18. it was actually a 300 i get to typing so fast sometimes, I miss hit the wrong buttons and then don't correct what I have typed until latter on Thanks for the correction
  19. That is one big Bear and nothing to mess with true story a friend of mine went hunting somewhere in Alaska, for Grizzly, he got one but never went hunting for them again him and his guide got on one, but it took 4 rounds with a 330 Win Mag and it finally dropped 7ft from his feet, the first round that hit the Grizzly was at around 300 yards he said it stood up winded them and started towards them, and took three more rounds before it finally dropped in front of him and his guide, my friend said him and his guide had to set there for an hour trying to regain their composer
  20. The 24Ks not to shabby either, I like getting free things LOL even if it is a free 1 year of extra warranty on my 24K, do we have to do anything, oh crap I am not even sure if I filled out my or registered my 24K for its warranty when I received it LOL OH Gerry can you provide me with the receipt for when I purchased it from you, LOL
  21. Nothing has been said about it for a few months now, with the move into the new facilities it may be a while before we do hear anything, I have been checking the Nokta site every three or four days just to make sure there is nothing new, Dilek usually announces things on the Facebook groups first, so if I see anything I will post it up to make everyone aware
  22. I will tell you had I not ran a comparison of the older files and the newer files I would have never knew the file packet was larger, because in all appearances they look the same just glancing at the two
  23. As a lot of you know I have two Legends, my initial first Legend was 1.04 when I received it, it was one of the first Legends to hit the U.S shores in the very first shipment to arrive in the U.S, my second Legend was 1.05 and I purchased it to try to teach my wife how to metal detect, but she has been unable to grasp metal detecting even though when I first started she would detect with me using a AT Pro and she actually became pretty good at finding things when we would go out and detect, but now with her having severe Dementia all she can do is pretty much sit and kind of watch me detect, this post is not about my wife and her medical issues, but just a little background building up to what those with a earlier Legend needs to ponder upon. My first Legend, I use and used as a tester unit prior to installing any of the updates in my second Legend unit, again my first Legend was a 1.04 version and the second one was a 1.05 version, my 1.04 version Legend I used to test all three of the Beta Test versions, my second legend I had updated all the way to 1.09 and tested and compared all the Beta test versions to the 1.09 Beta test version 2 was the only Beta test version I had seen problems with initially beta test versions 1 and 3 I seen no issues at all in my Legend that I ran the Beta test on, The Beta test version 3 that particular Legend ran better than ever on, so when 1.11 was released I installed it on my Legend that I had done all the testing with and compared it again to my Legend that had 1.09 installed on it, (Something Was Off) with my test Legend it was no where close to the same as what I was seeing in Beta test version 3, tones sounded like crap, depth was no where close to my Legend that was running 1.09 and when I state the depth was off I am not talking a little bit it was way off, target IDs were all over the place with my test Legend, I also could not use the LG24 coil on my test Legend because it was so unstable, it was a little better with the stock coil but still not correct on that particular Legend, I ended up reverting that test Legend back to 1.09, and everything seemed to be back to normal tones were clean TIDs were more stable and and I was able to use the LG24 coil on that Legend now as well as the stock coil, so I have had my test Legend running 1.09 for a while now, my second Legend which was 1.05 and updated to 1.09 I decided to do yet another test using my second Legend as the test unit I updated it to 1.11 and everything ran fine with that particular Legend, (I thought what the Hell) LOL I was able to run the LG24 coil and every coil I have for the Legend ran great, TIDs were stable, tones sounded completely normal depth was great everything was great with that particular Legend running 1.11, my thoughts were I will just run one Legend with 1.11 and one with 1.09, after all 1.09 has just a few less features than 1.11 so I ran with that for a bit, (But inquisitive minds want to know)and are never settled until all things are checked and checked again LOL here is what I found Out of curiosity I went to the Nokta site to see if they had an updated download for the 1.11 and updated updater tool, in all appearances nothing had changed but I went ahead and re downloaded the software 1.11 again, here is where I discovered that the download I had on my PC was a smaller file than the files I had just downloaded, not by much but the software packet that I had just downloaded was a larger packet, so I Extracted the files from the newly downloaded software, when I do this I put them on my desk top so I do not have to search my files for them, so when I attempted to put the new updater tool on my Desk top a pop up came up and said the files already exist do I want to replace I clicked replace and let it do its thing, even though the updater tool that was already on my PC was the same v1-8-win and the new download is v1-8-win something is different I do not know if the previous download glitched and missed some of the files or if Nokta changed something in the updater tool or what, with the new download being a larger file I decided to once again install the 1.11 on my Legend that would previously not run correctly while running 1.11, all I will say is (What A Huge Difference) that legend now seems to run like what I was seeing in 1.10 Beta test version 3 tones sound clean and clear,TIDs are stable and the depth is back to what I was seeing in Beta test version 3, also the stability now seems better than ever, I also re installed the 1.11 on my second Legend even though it seemed to work ok I felt because of the Larger file packet it would be best to re install the 1.11 just to make sure, and it even seems to be running better with better depth and more stable TIDs. the point of this thread is to make any one that is having similar issues after installing 1.11 on their Legend, with lost depth, unstable target IDs, tones just not sounding quite rite, and other issues you may want to delete the files that are currently on your PC and re download and re install the 1.11 just to see if it helps because it did on both my Legends, also do not forget to perform a factory default reset if you elect to do as I have done.
