  1. To answer your question yes if you set the bottle cap rejection to high, it can cost you good targets I experimented with it a little just to see at what point you start to loose good targets and for me personally I decided to leave it set to zero which is no bottle cap reject, as phrunt said the more filtering you set can cost you good targets
  2. Was offered a new in box TRX for what I think is a great price from the prices I have seen when you can find one, $112 Shipped to me from a friend in AZ he has several, also offered me their Etrac for $150, because he purchased a Nox 900 I have always wanted to try the TRX but never would pull the trigger when I would find one because everyone of them I have ever seen listed for sale the price always seemed way high to me but for $100 I am willing to give one a try since its new in box the Etrac is in really nice working condition and I am thinking of taking it also LOL I know everything is Legit so not worried there at all, if I do not like the TRX i will offer it up for sale at the same price.
  3. the X Pointer Max does give you the ability to turn off the discrimination, if you want to it can be ran with the discrimination on or off, personally I like having the Disc on
  4. Actually after purchasing my first X Pointer Max I liked it so much I ended up purchasing the 2023 model X Pointer Max with the Magic Holster, personally from using both the older version and the new version with the magic holster I like the new 2023 model even more, a few of the things I really like about the new 2023 model I can run the new version on boost sensitivity now with no or very little falsing, I also like that now I can leave it on and re holster it and the new version goes into stand by mode ready to pin point when you remove it from the holster, as far as the buttons they are still hard to push but now with the magic holster that is no longer an issue. Both versions are great pin pointers but the new 2023 model is just a little better in my opinion on a couple of things like not having to fiddle with the button to turn it on and off and now it can be ran at max sensitivity other than those two things both the old version and new 2023 version are basically the same i purchased the 2023 model from Charlene and Andy Sabisch, I can provide you with their phone number if you want to call them I believe the name of their store is https://www.treasurehuntingoutfitters.com/?fbclid=IwAR03mQol7QI3TgwIaxvRseK5dTXYaTeWreo7zASDiMkQkfLRbH-WmG09iNw they are in Pennsylvania now
  5. There is a longer middle shaft available for purchase that adds an additional 4 inches in over all length to the Legend, it is aluminum, not sure the new carbon fiber middle shaft will come in a longer version though I did add the aluminum longer middle shaft to one of my legends and it worked great https://nwdetectors.com/products/longer-middle-shaft-aluminum-simplex-simplex-whp?variant=32701888856118&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI5aGtqJCN_wIVowhlCh2mPAJqEAQYAiABEgLg3fD_BwE
  6. Lets hope so but I am not willing to make a bet on it, simply because I have talked to a few Legend users that have had to have their speakers replace a multiple times on the same machine so, if Nokta has upgraded the speakers the replacement is no better than the original speakers, I just keep knocking on wood in hopes I never have to find out, but then I keep my volume pretty low on both my Legends in an attempt to not have to send either of them in for a speaker replacement.
  7. the big difference in the LG28 (11 inch round) coil and the LG30 12x9 inch coil other than shape is the weight of the LG30. if you can find the specs of the LG30 and the LG28 (stock coil) you will see that the LG30 is quite a bit lighter than the LG28 stock coil this is just my opinion but for me personally the LG28 stock coil because of the weight of it makes the legend very toe heavy for me personally it makes the Legend uncomfortable to swing, but you can place the back up battery bank in its holding place to try and off set the toe heavy feel
  8. You are correct in everything except for the Lower shaft part all the older Legends cam with the carbon fiber lower shaft, the new Legends coming from the nokta factory will come with the new carbon fiber middle shaft, newly designed arm cuff and the new LG30 coil and also will have 1.11 already in the Legend the Older Legends come with a aluminum middle shaft, and carbon fiber Lower shaft and they all had to be updated to 1.11 or for that matter updated to any of the new versions, basically when you add the new LG30 and middle carbon fiber shaft and newly designed arm cuff and LG30 coil you will now have the completely new upgraded Legend that is already updated to 1.11
  9. That was what was confusing me with the Legend Thresholds for a while, I did not realize that in Park,Field and Beach a reference threshold was being utilized and in the Gold field mode the Legend utilized a true Threshold, it took me a bit of investigating to finally figure it out and what the differences in the two actually was, a lot of researching and reading, one of the best reads I found was posted up by someone on another site he went by Rudy, his article pretty much helped me to figure it out in the end here is that article I was referring to https://metaldetectingforum.com/index.php?threads/confused-about-threshold-vs-volume.15979/
  10. @Kctrading here is the issue in my opinion Sid should have put the Xterra Pro on 15 KHz and never changed frequencies at all as the Simplex Ultra is a single frequency 15 KHz detector,if you are going to do test do apples for apples. Sid was trying to see if he could get the Xterra pro to hit as good as the Simplex Ultra and in my opinion the Xterra pro failed because no matter what Sid did he could not get the Xterra Pro to perform as good as the Simplex Ultra. I personally have no interest in either of these detectors but lets face it if i was going to purchase one of the two based on that video, it would be the Simplex Ultra, but I still cannot stand those tones which sounds like the Aflac goose, Aflaaaaac,Aflaaaaac
  11. I already have it, in fact I liked the first one I ordered so much which was the original X Pointer max that I ended up purchasing the new 2023 model that comes with what Quest calls the Magic Holster also, which I like even more than the first one I purchased, if you do decide to order one make sure you get the 2023 model that comes with the magic Holster as it does not false as much as the original version, I can actually run the 2023 model on boost sensitivity where the original model I have to set the sensitivity to medium to high no way can I use the original set on the Boost sensitivity, both models I run the volume at 3 and they are both plenty loud enough at 3 if I take the volume to 5 they both are blaringly loud I do like both models but the 2023 X Pointer Max model is my favorite pin pointer of all I have used, just a great pin pointer all together in my opinion
  12. The only benefit I see anyone will gain purchasing the LG30 is a much lighter coil The LG28 is a good coil but I find it to make the Legend very toe heavy.
  13. first welcome onboard DP as for coil covers for Whites detectors Serious Detecting always seems to have a good selection of whites coil covers you might try them
  14. agree with you whole heartily Jeff that is the one thing I can not stand on the Simplex plus is those dying Duck tones, those tones were the first thing I would have changed on the Simplex Ultra also they sound like someone has a duck in a strangle hold and it refuses to Dye LOL
  15. here is the video where Dilek states the Simplex Ultra will not be a selectable single frequency detector if you do not wish to watch the whole video go to 23.54 in the video
  16. watched a video that was put up by Dilek about a week ago she was asked the question if the Ultra was going to be a Selectable single frequency detector and Dilek stated that it was not going to be a selectable singe frequency detector she stated that the new Simplex Ultra would in fact be a single frequency detector running 15 KHz will see if I can locate the video
  17. yep me also only difference is I already have the LG24 coil which is a great coil by the way, when I receive the upgrades I will run one of my Legends with the LG24 and the other with the LG30 and use the LG15 for when I am detecting in tighter areas the LG28 will most likely set in the closet collecting dust, as i find the LG28 just seems to throw the balance of the legend off for me
  18. Nice wright up I do have a question for you though where were you able to purchase the new upgraded Carbon middle shaft and new arm cuff, I have been keeping an eye out for the upgrades and have been unable to locate them any where, i am wanting two of the upgrade packages one with the LG30 and one just the carbon fiber mid shaft and arm cuff
  19. Welcome to DP Mike, I do recall you working with Bill Southern, again welcome on board
  20. first as phrunt said welcome to DP second I did like my original Garrett pro pointer that I purchased back in 2009 the only reason I went on a Quest (pun intended) LOL, too find a different pointer, was because of the age of my Garrett pro pointer, it started having some quirks to it so I figured it was time to start looking for something new, if it had not been for those quirks I would have probably never ended up with 4 new pin pointers, two of which are the X Pointer Max, the first two I just did not care for that much, out of the four new ones the Quest X Pointer max is the only ones I have liked thus far, and most likely will post my Fisher F Pulse and Nokta Pulse dive up for sale eventually, the F Pulse is already spoken for so that leaves me with a decision as to whether I want to part with the Pulse Dive.
  21. i purchased My X Pointer Max from Andy and Charlene Sabisch I had Charlene to verify what I was indeed going to receive was the new 2023 model which plainly states on the box the X Pointer Max comes in, (Magic Holster), you can also tell by the Holster that comes with the Pointer has a small sown on cloth tab that reads Magic Holster, the first X Pointer Max has the same exact holster but the small tab is not present on the Holster and it does not state on the box either, other than what I have stated there is no way of telling the difference, the older version looks identical to the new version you can tell if the pointer you receive is the new version by taking a small magnet and putting the magnet against the main housing, on either side of the power and settings buttons of the X Pointer max, if you do as I stated and its a new version X Pointer Max it will put the pointer in stand by the older version X Pointer max will not do this
  22. Ok that would be even better, the headphones and pulse dive with the Simplex Plus I never could get the Headphones and Pulse Dive to pair
  23. Chase if you go back and read my first reply to this thread which was the second reply to this thread rite after your reply I explain what the Magic holster does, that way I will not have to re type it all again, the new Magic holster comes with the new 2023 Model X Pointer Max Pin Pointer The info is on Quest site
