  1. It was just under the surface. I used a screwdriver to pop it out. I was in Park 1 with pretty much the factory settings. I was using 5 tones, and the sensitivity was at 20.
  2. Found this today in the grass at a Park. I was using my Equinox 800. This is the best thing that I have ever found metal detecting. It weighs 43.5 grams and is marked 18K.
  3. I had an extra Deus S-Rod and 9" X35 coil that I wasn't using, so I ordered a ORX remote to use as a traveling detector. I received the remote yesterday, so I assembled everything and took it to a local park to try it out and make sure it was working OK. I wasn't really expecting to find much but I found $4.20 in clad, a $20 bill laying on top of the ground, and a 14K white gold ring. That is the third gold ring that I have found this year with the Deus and ORX.
  4. I just bought a “TROND” brand aptx low latency receiver/transmitter for my Vanquish 540 and it seems to work really well. I got it on Amazon. Before I got the TROND, I ordered a TAOTRONICS brand and it was worthless. The coil would be a foot off the target before it would sound off. I sent it back to Amazon.
  5. I’m on here just about every day. I like to see what everyone is posting, but I very seldom post anything myself.
  6. Does the pro pack come with lower rods for both coils, or just one.
  7. You’re welcome. Now go out and find some stuff with that Compadre 😀
  8. Give me your address, and I will send you one. I have some extras.
  9. Like Phrunt said, the Equinox is not really that hard to use. When I first got my 800, I took it out put it in Park 1 did a noise cancel and started finding stuff. And I learned more as I went along. It can be as simple as you want it to be. The wireless headphones and wireless module alone are worth the price difference between the 800 and the 600.
  10. The ORX Is a new detector that XP came out with recently. It is basically a cheaper version of the Deus. It doesn’t have all of the features of the Deus and is simpler to use. It is about half the price of the Deus. Some people prefer the ORX because it is simpler. I prefer the Deus because it has some features that I like that the ORX doesn’t have.
  11. I purchased a Deus in February, and I recently purchased a ORX. Performance seems to be equal to my Equinox, but what I really like the most is the light weight of the Deus and orx. I am 75 and the Deus has really made a difference in how long I can detect without my body hurting. I still have the Equinox, but the Deus is now my favorite.
  12. Well, I have to revise my assessment of the ReSound transmitter that came with my hearing aids. The sound is great and there is no lag, however the built in rechargeable battery does not last long enough for a full day of detecting. So, it’s good for watching TV but not for metal detecting.
  13. This little transmitter came with my hearing aids and it works great with the minelab wm-08 wireless module and the XP Deus WS4 wireless puck, because they are both low latency. No lag whatsoever. The sound is great also. I tried it with my MXT Pro, but it didn't work very well because there was too much sound lag.
  14. Like Chase Goldman, I use the wiggle back method to identify bottle caps. If you have the iron volume on, right when you get to the tip of the you will get the iron tone. Almost 100% of the time it’s either a bottle cap or a rusty steel washer. It works with both the hf coils and the X35 coils. When doing the wiggle back, if you get the iron tone, turn 180 degrees and do it again. If you don’t get it again after turning 180 degrees, dig it because it may be a good target next to a piece of iron.
  15. They are out of stock, and have been for quite a while. That is one of the places that I checked. I just checked again and they are still out of stock.
  16. Good luck finding a lower rod. I have been looking for one for a while and nobody seems to have any. Tesoro must have quit making them. You might be able to get one from Adersons Shafts, but they are spendy. If you find someone who has them, please post it on here, so I can order one. I have the 8x11 coil on my Tejon, and I really like it a lot.
