I can’t say that I’ve noticed any at least so far. I’d check those two screws in back of the armrest. If they were loose ( as some have complained and some have had fall out even) perhaps flexure could result. Some have noticed flexibility in diving use and a special lower rod is supposed to be made especially for diving, but as you say you notice it in the handle. Anyway, I myself haven’t noticed this.

Those are finds most only dream of making. I have 5 hours use on my coil and 2 of 3 bars showing.

If I’m not getting much by way of non ferrous targets, I go for the good sounding irons. I’ve got them hanging everywhere in my hangout. I don’t spent a lot of time on preserving irons as my quick method works just fine. They’re usually preserved within a day or two except for horseshoes and axe heads - they tend to sit a while.

Finally had a day where the ground wasn’t frozen so I went to a creekside homesite I’ve hit so hard I have rarely of late found anything of interest but in past years found numerous large cents and relics. I have the 11” coil. I started in general program but switched to sensitive, not altering any settings. I am highly impressed with the speed and sensitivity of this program. I think I will use one familiar program and one new to me one each time out as I get used to the Deus II. I was impressed by when I had a decent signal, it was usually a decent find, not junk. I dug numerous lead shot beads. I dug some iron signals in order to try to differentiate between small and large because I really appreciate iron relics. Today I found several including the iron horse and the ankh. ( by the way does anybody know what purpose these served? I’ve found several over the years but this one is the nicest example I’ve ever seen. My best find by far was the 1853 holed trime which was found at a depth of 6” in a very polluted area. Very impressive with an 11” coil. It was a strong 79 signal. This is my first trime. Or I found a trime for the first time, lol. I left more than impressed with the Deus II’s ability to bring life back to old cherished sites and am very optimistic for this detecting season. I also left less upset by the lack of 9” coil. The irons were photographed after wire brush and coating with modge podge.

I am enjoying your test postings very much. I wonder if in addition to testing Park, you can test it in open fields using deep HC and relic modes in the near future.

What are you’re observations on separation and pinpointing ( using cross and drawback methods, with 11” coil. as compared to the 9” on the Orx? This weekend there will be no problem with frozen ground and will be my first opportunity to dig multiple targets and different programs using the Deus II.

How is something magnetic or permanent not being detected by the coil messing with signal?

While charging the light is steady on( but there is a faint blink I notice but for most part it’s steady on- never off while still charging. When fully charged, it goes to blink- 4 seconds on 4 seconds off 4 on 4 off forever when in charged standby status. When the detector is turned on, there is a different blink regiment I never paid attention to what it is.

By the time I get my 9” coil I’ll be comfortable using the 11”. I will be favoring sites that could benefit from the bigger coil. With my Orx I rarely took the 11” coil, but this year I plan on doing more fields and scouting woods for presently unknown homesites which the 11” will cover more ground, increasing chance of success.

Couldn’t they drive to France and pick one up? Just a hop skip thru the English Channel tunnel.

I tried once taping the xp clip handles to jaws of small pliers which made it easier to squeeze the clip on. The xp clip would be ok if there was more leverage.

5x10 works great in the woods but where signals are sparse the footprint isn’t as good as the 9” even thought the elliptical is 10” in length I’m of the opinion that the 9” is the happy medium between coverage, maneuvering, getting around obstacles . If you’re in wide open spaces the 11” is the happy medium.

I decided to embrace my D2/11” and ready to go as I’m expecting weather to allow at least once/ week use. I don’t feel like I have to buy a second coil because I ordered the 11” coil shortly after ordering the 9” version but before getting an 11” version sooner became an option. Of course I would have preferred the other order (9” first) but I’m not stressing about it anymore. I’m just anxious to get out there and get in some swing time on the Deus II. The less I think about the 9” coil, the sooner I’ll get it.

Here are pictures of mine. Note 4 small zip ties. The hinge still allows WS6 to fold. Use a soft hat if you want them to fold up. You won’t regret it once you try it.

I couldn’t agree more about the superiority of the Deus II for woods hunting. I have only been out once with the 2, but many times with the Deus Lite and Orx. I would much rather have the 9” coil ( and will soon I hope) but even with the 11” coil it’s great in the woods. I want them to add a small elliptical but the 9” is best when roaming the woods. Much of the woods I hunt are similar to what NCtoad has. Dense with hills and ravines. Fallen trees are everywhere so a light detector is essential. By the way, I very much like the WS6 but I zip tied them to a cap so they stay put.

I couldn’t find the BP 240 for sale anywhere in the U.S. I use 2 different backpacks- a multi tennis racket bag which perfectly holds the Deus II with a short shovel pouch in outside back and I added pockets inside for accessories. The outside ball pockets hold pinpointer and gloves etc. i also bought an XP backpack 280 which holds a ton of gear and this one is for bigger excursions or trips where I want extra gear and supplies. Even loaded, it’s very comfortable to wear. The tennis bag holds just the essentials and is very light- ideal for quick detecting outings.

Mi6 works better with the Deus ii than it seemed to with the Orx. I was experiencing somewhat of a lag when going from pinpointer mode to detect mode. There seems to be less lag returning to detect mode on the D2. I did have some buzzy static that went away when I turned it off and on again. The Mi6 in pitch mode is my favorite of any pinpointer I’ve ever used.

Well they do vibrate- just saying.

I contacted XP on the subject of 9” coils alone and am waiting for reply. I’m sure I’ll get on but may not like what I hear. It’s hard to understand any good reason for this problem to persist. Maybe they’ll decide to fix it.

Glad you like the deus2 after taking it for a spin. Ground!s been frozen, but today should be the day. Yesterday I ran it in my yard running through programs and settings. For first real use I’m going to hit a spent colonial spot in the woods where it’s been many moons since I pulled out any non- ferrous so it’ll be a good test. I do appreciate all the menu tutorials bc im a deer in headlights when presented with any new electronic equip.

Dealer gave me the option to return the 11” one if I don’t use it, for a 9” one when he gets one. I thought about it and decided it’s too much trouble and I want to try it out ( this weekend is possible). Until the 9” comes I’ll use the 11 and adjust my detecting style to it. I have been assured I’ll be one of the first to get one of the 9’s. I do really hope it’s by April.

Everything except custom programs stored on the remote do not store on the WS6. You have to install them directly on the WS6. Also there is no graphics like XY and horseshoe obviously.
