Australia had the first batch of Equinox 600 & 800's delivered yesterday. I was very lucky, I use a small local retailer and his list was not too long plus he had a couple of people not quite ready for their equinox. Totally unexpected but I got his call late yesterday. I was at the store just after he opened this morning (Saturday here) I only put my name down late December but happily scored one of the 10x 800's delivered to him from Minelab. Charging up as I type. Lets hope a good number got rolled out to fellow Aussies as we cannot have the Americans having all the fun.. Great summer weather here so no snow or ice to contend with. (just sunburn and the heat) cheers and happy swinging To all those patiently waiting, I hope time goes quick and delivery to you comes early.

Multi IQ

My wife of 34 years approves my detecting even though she doesnt like doing it herself. I happily hand over half of what I find to her and she buys whatever she likes with her half of the loot. My half goes towards a new detector or adding to my coin collection. I recently sold off some gold finds that brought a tidy sum and handed her a big wad of cash notes....she couldnt be happier

Here in Australia RRP is : 800 $1299 AUD which = $1044 US (todays exchange rates) 600 $999 AUD which is $803 US I think the price will stay where it is and eventually there will be extra incentives like extras in deals from retailer

Thanks Sinclair for enlightening us. ..... I have a couple of questions if you know, please. I presume the reason is the delay (ie. AptX low latency has less delay than plain old AptX ?? * So does the transmitter and the receiver need to be "Apt-X Low Latency" ? * Do you know if the Low Latency chip that is required is the CSR8670 - or are there other low latency chips around also ? Same as the X-Terra really, as far as I can see it looks like the same stand. It can tip fairly easily Lay the coil flat on the surface then place the back end down... is the way I do it with my X-Terra so it doesn't tip over. As RR above says, there are a few aftermarket solutions for people having issues Equinox price kept to minimum by sharing some (well proven) basic parts already manufactured for the X-Terra.

Hi Chase, Us Aussies have it made in this regard. $1 and $2 coins in general circulation can make for some rewarding hunts. My old Xterra 70 is still used by me with a 15" coil for modern coin drops and these modern finds have paid for all my machines many times over. A lot of hours were put in to get the total coinage and some early mornings / late nights. Sometimes multiple $2 and $1 coins are pinged in one drop, so you might pick up $10 or $15 in one hit if you are lucky. Our $2 coin is smaller than the $1 coin so they are very commonly lost. $2 coins can add up quickly. Us detectorists downunder hope a $5 coin comes out soon Happy swingin

Thanks Steve and I am looking forward to seeing your further testing on this. I like to use sports earbuds in the Summer. I gets pretty hot and they help in that regard. I am currently looking around for a decent pair of AptX "sports" earbuds that will be OK for a Equinox

Yes, gold hunters should like it being H freq. biased. Silver is not worth much anyway. Almost as good as BBS/FBS in saltwater . (I read that as stability. I then read from that stability can equal depth. Maybe I read too much into it ) Better recovery probably doesnt apply too much on most beach sites. I guess we will find out soon enough eh ?

Hi Chase, I cant answer all your issues but can relay to you part of some info that I was given when I asked about Multi IQ in 2017..... Multi IQ uses a different group of fundamental frequencies than FBS/BBS to generate a wide band multi frequency transmission signal that is more sensitive to High frequency targets and slightly less sensitive to Low frequency targets. Multi IQ uses the latest high speed processors and advanced digital filtering technology for much faster recovery speed than BBS/FBS technology. Multi IQ copes with saltwater and beach conditions almost as good as BBS/FBS however BBS/FBS still have an advantage for finding high conductive silver coins in all conditions.
