  1. Yes 18 full sov and a 1/2 sov is 15 I have seen a couple found by Brits on Facebook also a couple of gold Guineas...a 1/3 or a 1/4 and a full. Good luck with your quest to find one Andy?
  2. That will depend upon the beach conditions Things like black sand, a shallow clay base, varying base types on a beach, weed or wave action (in the water) etc may require a GB Where I hunt I am usually OK most spots out of the water but in the water wading requires GB If you are happy then dont change it I would say ? As an experiment though, you could bury a small target deep in wet sand to see if it makes any difference between the 2 for you ?
  3. Ok, Thanks very much Chase ☺️ todays little hunt $44.50
  4. Hi, I do not use the WM08 with my Equinox800 and so I wondering can I use it with another detector ? eg. If I buy any BT Aptx LL transmitter plug that into my old Xterra - will the WM08 receive the signal OK ? Does anyone know ? thanks in advance and happy hunting ? The 800 is going great, just got back from a 3hr hunt. it just gets better and better for me and it has paid for itself plus some. When the big Nox coil comes out I may retire my Xterra but atm it has a 15" WOT on it and is good for some hunting
  5. Nice work Steve That was working Discrimination to your advantage for your specific site and targets. Any photos of your copper found ?
  6. Nice , congrats Nuke em gotta love the rich colour of 22k
  7. Hi Cliff, My 800 has overloaded a few times on black sand or on a large ferrous target before ...in Beach modes. At all times my overload symbol went away on its own after 5-10 seconds whilst I slowly swung the coil over a clean area. I think the key here might be to find a clean, mild spot away from the overload place. If you have already tried that then I am sorry, thats all I have got that might help and I wish you the best of luck getting it sorted.
  8. Nice ...thats a very pretty ring Great to see a man with detecting experience showing a newcomer the ropes.
  9. Man, the Equinox is killing it finding gold rings at the beach lately I just got off Facebook where I belong to 4 Equinox groups....its just gold after gold after gold after gold This machine is geared more towards gold (low conductors) than silver. It was made that way on purpose. Having said that, I suggest if you want silver try more than just Park 1.
  10. If you try that in Park2 you may get a better result There was a thread or video a couple of months ago about Park1 not picking up a silver coin ring on edge . I tried it and Park1 was a dud but Park2 did hit my silver coin ring (50% purity, about 7grams weight). When I experimented a bit there were some variables as to how well it hit it...things like purity of silver and size/mass of object.
  11. Awesome IMHO 5.1g gold corresponds better with the 8" and 15" depths of an 800 and 7000 5g gold is a good score, congrats Mitchel ?
  12. Foil can also give a very low reading If its a flattened piece near the surface it can drift away with the water pressure as you work the scoop
  13. Where I live at present was settled in 1836 and its super rare to find anything past 1700 My oldest find was a 1695 UK half penny I guess the grass is greener on the other side because I would love to detect somewhere older like USA or UK....maybe I will get there one day . I am very happy with what I achieved though, this hobby has been very good to me and lady luck has smiled upon me many times.?
  14. Awesome pick up You never really 100% for sure unless you dig it all ?
  15. Hi, Miners Den retail stores are having a sale on both the 600 & 800 http://www.minersden.com.au/minelab-equinox-800-multi-iq-with-11-inch-dd-smart-coil
  16. Well Mitchel you could always dolly it and pan off the gold content ? ?
  17. Hi sillllvar, That is the smallest buckle of that type that I have seen I used to relic hunt a least weekly with my CTX and ETrac and have collected a few of that type. The larger ones are harness buckles I think They all came from sites post 1830's happy hunting ?
  18. Well done, nice pick up. If an 800 sees it at 8" (or a 7000 at 15") my guess is there may be more gold inside the quartz I hope so for you ?? How bad is the mineralization at your goldfield ?
  19. You are welcome mate. ? Being English its probably 9carat Thats a pretty big gemstone too. I wonder if its Ruby ?? I noticed it has some little chips. If its valuable it may be worth getting it cleaned up and re-cut to remove the chips.? cheers
  20. Well done on some nice goodies The anchor symbol is the mark for Birmingham Assay Office, England K is the date letter Go to Birmingham Assay date letters (Google search) and match your K with the various font styles listed When you have the exact font style match it will tell you what year that was.
  21. Good hunt with a great result. Lots of good karma to you for tracking him down and returning it. ?
  22. Good stuff , thank you I heard a couple of days ago on Facebook that Minelabs Nox water headphones were available in Sweden Now the USA so hopefully Oz soon.
  23. Hi again unox, Yep it gets the thumbs up from me have used both in water and on land One final thing I forgot. I ended up sealing the holes & cuts with a smear of Superglue. It finishes off better and hopefully will prevent any fraying etc happy swinging all ?
