  1. Hi, I thought the standard shaft would suit me OK until I started water hunting. There is nothing to choose from here in Australia that does not cost over $200 delivered I decided to give making one a try 1metre x 22mm OD / 20mm ID Carbon Fiber shaft $42.00 aud , 1x Pluggers Equinox shaft lower lock about $30.00 delivered , 1x 19mm poly pipe end plug $1.00 Drilled some 6mmm & 9mm holes I cut 120mm off the carbon fiber shaft and made a lead filled counterweight attachment for later on when the big coil coil comes out . I will not do Andersons or Plugger out of business but it will do me and will keep the standard 3 piece for travelling
  2. He hunts in central Queensland on the beaches. I imagine they are well used tourist beaches He and another forum member Kg (who hunts with Excalibur and mask & snorkel ) have a bit of a contest going each year to see who can get the most gold rings. They both do extremely well and not just this year...its year after year folks
  3. Got mine at BigW 2 in a pack and they were 50% off so got em for $4each...bought 2 packs
  4. The arm cuff...try adding a small spring washer & flat washer to the arm cuff bolt, I worked for me. The shaft...cant help you much if its play in the shaft sizes (manufacturing fault) good luck
  5. so is the 11" $229 a typo ? should it be 15" $229 ?? I am confused too the 11" coil came with the tector and I dont need another
  6. The water will work its way between the 2 surfaces and lift it off
  7. This what I use for a full face protector Only I remove it when water hunting Re-usable if you roll a length of masking tape into a circle around two fingers and run the sticky side over the parts to be sealed - it takes all the fluff etc off before sticking it down again....so no bubbles.
  8. Very nicely done, congratulations and may there be many more.
  9. Wow 20g of 14k is a great find congrats to you and the little rockstar
  10. My 800 is Ok on land but put it into the water and with some water inside the tube its wobbles . I have just purchased some carbon fiber tube and a Plugger shaft lock so will make up water hunting shaft when the parts arrive.
  11. Wow Mitchel you are doing great with the pirates treasure, congrats
  12. I hope Minelab USA are quick for you Never mind too much I had a Etrac for years and it was a silver magnet. The Etrac ergonomics that did not agree with me but I happily put up with it and made some memorable finds with it. Happy swinging

  17. A very clever mod Relicmaster. great for the traveller. Maybe you should be on the Minelab design team ? anyway, well done .
  18. Yeah no worries Mitchel. It must be our convict past here in OZ
  19. Good looking plate. please dont take this the wrong way, it is just a friendly suggestion ..... IMHO dont be in a habit to leave your detector in car as you are advertising what you own. Minelab stickers on cars , Minelab bags visible inside cars are good advertising for detector thieves. Over here around the Aussie goldfields many people have had cars etc broken into is its become known a detector might be inside it. cheers and happy swinging
  20. Very enjoyable, thank you Steve for the link as its not a show we get down here Looking forward to the future gold podcast
