Mike I think one of the batteries was around 45 volts to push the tubes but I just don't remember what the other was. Steve I think had one too and maybe he can fill in the void I can't. I do know it was a company that put kits out back then called Heath Kits. They had all kind of electronics you could get in a kit. I got one from Houston Texas that put out kits too.It was less than worthless. I was running around to Army surplus stores looking for detectors and I did find them. The trouble was they couldn't get me the batteries to run it. Chuck

For years it no such thing as a pin pointer and even when they came out I didn't have one and didn't think I needed one. Now I wouldn't leave home without it. Hard to teach a old dog new tricks. Chuck

Like I said on another post the length is not the factor but just to show proof. I have a Id card with my picture on it plus two letters form my commander at the time to my mother. I've used it over and over again with no questions from Minelab. I plan to take that same 15 % on my Equinox when I order one. Chuck

For a number of years I knew I was the first to hunt that ground I was on. You with a detector in your hand was a oddity. Everybody who came around wanted to know what you were doing. Some showed interest and others thought you had fell out of your tree. When I first started out I don't think I never when by a weekend not out there swinging my detector and anytime I could during the week. So many ask about the cost of a detector. The main thing I'd tell them you may have to buy the first one but with the money you find will pay for the next one. They too ask how much one could find a year. My answer was if you get out and hunt you can find 6 hundred to a thousand a year. At one time I did keep up with how much I found but not anymore. The first store bought detector was a White's BFO and it had three tubes in it. It sounded like a motor boat until you got over a coin and then it kick into high gear with the sound you heard. Then you had to dig everything but I do believe I found more rings then. To step back in the past has been all good for me. Chuck

Many moons ago I could take the heat 8 hours or more coin hunting. Today is a different story being older and yet so tender. I sit around taking a trip down memory lane on these hot days that hit around a 100. I love nugget hunting but coin hunting has paid off over and over again for me. I started out back in 65 when everything was coming up silver. To find a silver half dollar was a common thing and a silver dollar now and then. I've found lots of coins but yet to find a gold one. Don't get me wrong I'd love to find one and I'd eat humble pie if I could but my world is not depending on it.Oh that silver coming out of the ground after a hundred years is beyond words. I've had this luck lots of times over the years and I hope see some more of the same. Like said It's Not Over Until It's Over. So when in heat get in the shade! Chuck

Will somebody tell me when you see a demo on a new detector they swing it around like like you had a wild cat by the tail? They always find old coins in large amounts and in sandy ground where it's easy digging.( On this I'm just telling you ) I'm not sure but I think it's called a sales pitch! The Big D says To Present or advertise especially in a high- pressure way. I must say Garrett is not the only one that use this. Chuck

Rick My Nokta gold plus didn't work new out of the box. My MX Sport had wrong program and plastic cover on face had to be replaced. Now my Gold Monster 1000 is falsing on both coils and repair center has it now. It has always been said everything comes in three's. Here I am got my three bad hings behind me. So now I want the first one out the door. When you at the bottom it's only one way and that is up. Look up in the sky it's a bird,it's a plane no it's Chuck. Chuck

Fred Right now your CTX is worth a lot but later not so much. Maybe fifty cents on the dollar down the road. I don't know why every new detector comes out with a hola hoop for a coil. I know on a show and tell a large coil will get more depth. The trouble is that big coil gets more trash under it at the same time. Fred if they would just call us before they make a move we could keep them on a straight and narrow path. Chuck

Hi Dean I know the term marketing on auto and Iphones. When you see one or the other on TV that product is being put together at that time. So you telling me that Minelab has both Equinox ready to ship out soon ? I'm on TV and I'm selling High Speed Muffler Bearings and if you buy one I'll give you one free. Now all you have to do is just pay for the one and shipping for both. This is what I call true marketing. I don't care what you do with your High Speed Muffler Bearings but I've got them now. I for one don't like to be tease by any detector company. If I got something to sale it's now not next week or next year. In my opinion you Minelab if you got a new product don't come out and tell us how great it is but nothing to sale. Why can't you wait until all the testing has been done and you got more than the one in your hand ? Just look at how many would have been sold if you had any at this outing to sale. The only thing you can tell us you don't know when we can have one. Minelab the thing is you're not the only detector company that's done this. Minelab I think you always made a great product. Over time I've had five different nugget detectors made by Minelab and three coin detectors I know for sure. Now here you got me waiting like I did on the Gold Monster 1000. I'd put my money down long before it came out but I was will to wait. Here I am again like a dog wagging his tail wanting you to throw me a bone but in this case it's a hot new coin detector that someday may come out. I've got to admit by what you have to say about this new detector it's going to be the cats meow. I see it got a gold mode for nugget hunting and if it's hot as they say the Gold Monster 1000 just maybe I can't need both. For what it's worth if I didn't like your product I wouldn't say a thing. Ringmoney You're not going to know the sex until it's born( brother or sister). More has been said about this detector than any before it. I don't think we had this much talk on the 7000 when it came out. I believe it was the cost that put most of us in shock. Then the ones that did buy one hasn't regretted it.

A question was ask where is the batteries. I think you will find them in the backside of the handle like on the Go_Find. Chuck PS I played the video over and over again to hear just what was said about charging the batteries. I keep hearing about a USB plug to charge the battery. I hope they have it fixed so if you forgot to you can put in a regular pack of batteries. I guess only time will tell. I wonder too who may had their hot little hands on this detector in the US before now.

I put my money down for the Gold Monster long before it came on the market. This detector has all of what we want and more but I think I'll stand fast and let all of you buy first. The Gm 1000 I've had for a long time didn't work for me when I got to gold country for the first time. Right now I'd like to know where can I get that shaft that's on the Equinox ? I'd love to put it on my 1000. The good thing with the Equinox I don't have to travel just out my back door to test it. Like the TV show the price is right. Looking forward about hearing more on the Equinox and I hope all is good. Chuck

Jen I don't know what it is but I got to have one. Like the kid that would eat anything I'll buy just about anything. I've got a friend in Ok. and he too will buy just about anything.So if I don't like it he'll buy it. This guy was at a outing and put a gold nugget in his mouth he had won but without thinking down it went. Later they called him up unknowning until they said to follow him around if they wanted a gold nugget. The Best Chuck

My question would be is this detector something we can have now or a tease that's coming next year sometime are another. It could be another dollar 2.69 low end detector for the kid in us to have being we can't afford more. I'm really want a detector that's so hot that instead it falsing when it hits a blade of grass it burns it off. Also you can't hunt at night because it shine so bright being so hot you can't see where your going. One more thing I want in this detector is you can't hunt alone because of the great depth it has . What I'm talking about is someone have to hold your feet to get to the bottom of the hole. Price I'll leave open so I've got something to bitch about.Some of us wouldn't be happy if you hung us with a new rope. Chuck

Well it looks as of it has all we want. Range and depth but the only thing missing is a digging arm. So many saying what they want in this new detector and other new toys. Here all I want is a new body just 20 years younger and maybe a 7000. The 7000 wouldn't make look any better but I'd die with a smile on my face. Like a friend on guns and he says it the joy of having one. Hope all do get what they want in the Equinox. Chuck

Steve to ease the pain I ask for a loaner of a 7000 but I'm sure you know the answer to that one.haha Chuck PS I came out on top with the MX and I'm sure Minelab won't let me down. When you got people like White's and Minelab they were here yesterday today plus many more tomorrows you can't go wrong. I called the companies people because that's what makes it what it is.

I know all of you couldn't make it through the day without knowing this. The meaning of Equinox is when day and night are the same length. Now all is calm in the world. Chuck

The odd thing is some GM 1000 work great out of the box. Then others have trouble with the small coil. But then you have people like me and a few others have trouble with both coils. It would be interesting to know if Minelab has more than one plant where GM 1000 comes together. Then too if Minelab had to buy their electronics from another company that could of been substandard without knowing it. This wouldn't be the first time a top name company got the shaft unknowing what they were buying was substandard. How many of you have sent your GM 1000 in to Minelab ? Chuck

I find it hard to get too excited when I have one Minelab in the hospital and not knowing if it's going to make it. They being Minelab tell me they will let me know on what's happening to my Gold Monster 1000 as it goes along. I don't do facebook but I'm sure before the day is out we can find it right here posted on Steve's forum. Who am I kidding I get excited over any new detector coming on the market. I should have been born rich instead of so good looking. That way I could of bought all the new detectors that come out. Chuck

My wife has a Equinox made by Chevrolet. Now when Minelab comes out with this new detector by the same name I'll tell her it's not fair I want one too. I won't let her know the one I want is a detector. What she paid for it ( we I ) could buy the 7000 , new Equinox made by Minelab and have money left over. Oh well that's life. Steve I've had the best of both worlds but I do like the internally run cable the most. Now if they being Minelab would make it where I could hookup a after market coil that would make it outstanding. I've yet to get a call from anyone on what I like until your post.
