  1. HardPack Here In San Antonio Tx. it has already been over a 100. I went out to hunt the other day starting at 86 and stop after it hit over 90. Chuck
  2. HAHAHA You got me. Next time I'll look when not sure. Oh well before I couldn't spell it and now I R one. All is well being I went back to correct. Thanks Chuck
  3. Swifty When this GM 1000 gets in the hot little hands of people that make videos it's no telling what we'll be seeing. What detector ever been used for nugget hunting will be tested against the Gold Monster 1000. Not no much to see what's better but to put the Gold Monster in it's place. I myself let it stand alone. It don't have to prove it better than others because I just want to enjoy what it can do. Chuck
  4. I'm sure all have seen a faucet drip. Well as we get nearer to the big day for the Gold Monster 1000 to show it's face it's like that faucet. With time that faucet will drip more and at the same time we hear a little more on the GM 1000. To fix the faucet is replace it. Nothing will fix the GM 1000 even when it out because we'll want to know more. For the guys don't have one it will be the videos they'll have to see to get to the final of buy are not to buy. I've had one on order and you can't it. I just put my faith in Minelab knowing they make a great product. Chuck
  5. Chris Ben Well you can say you came home with the bacon in the form of gold nuggets. They all look like keepers. Just think how many times you've been out and came home with nothing but a pile of trash. The best to you on your next time out. Chuck
  6. Thanks Steve for posting Mr. Hoagland review and a well written one. I hung on every word he had to say about the Gold Monster 1000. I'd say he didn't C12 H22 O11 coat it. Chuck
  7. Steve Thank You. I guess a little of something is better than nothing. I could blow up the picture and hang it on the wall. What happen to the saying a picture is worth a thousand words but this one says nothing. Oh well thanks again. I think the guys at Minelab have all put super glue on their lips. Chuck
  8. Steve I do believe what you said it would work for shallow water hunting and add a snorkel you won't need more. I would run the Scuba in front of me to run off any stingrays that may come your way. Chuck.
  9. When I went to that Treasure Show this past weekend I had my hot little hands on the Scuba Tector. What I could tell it s well made but didn't get to test it. I'd told myself I was coming home with one but the wireless won out. When I go to something like that show I only take so much money in the way of cash. That is the only control I have on buying things. Oh not over with it yet and I know where the dealer is. I don't see the Scuba Tector much of a pinpointer. For small nuggets detecting is out and like Steve said the big ones is no trouble seeing. Just maybe a beach hunt it could work for you but my TRX works for me . You ask why I'd want one and the answer to that is I don't have one. When do I need to have a reason other than what I said. If you don't think like me you may need to make a appointment so we can talk about your thinking.haha
  10. Yesterday I connected the new wireless headphones to my MX Sport but nothing sounded right. You move the detector around it made all kind of noise and the sound coming through the headphones was bad too. I disconnected the the wireless but the detector done the same. It showed the battery level was good but I put new ones anyway. Then what was said on EMI may be my problem. So outside with the MXS I go and now not one oddball sound came out of it. What I was in was a small room that I play around with my junk. I have a light, fan and a small TV not over three feet away. With the electrical field around me I should light up too. Chuck
  11. I've had what you call a 5.3 coil on my Eagle 2 for over 25 years and loved it. That what I wanted in the first place but at the time it had to be the Detech 7 " or nothing. I do like the coil as said on other post. I'm not sure if I'll buy it now being the 7 is doing what I wanted in the beginning. I don't see me putting out money to buy the 13 when the coils I got now from White's fill my needs. Chuck
  12. Steve Just maybe the reason for it not being tight on what you said. To all you other guys that was asking. Yes it is all about the nut standing behind the detector. Anyone who will get out on a cold day detecting has got to have a nut loose. But don't we love it. When I find a nugget are a coin I just get so warm inside. If I was to die then it would take the Mortician three days to get the smile off my face. Chuck
  13. Hey Chris I may be screw up but I can screw down a nut. haha The threads looked to be good and I had no trouble tightening the nut. Had the threads been bad it would been going back. Thanks for your reply. Chuck
  14. The coil has a nut that the wire to it goes through. The nut holds the wire in place and seals off from any dirt or water getting into the coil. It's not too short but had never been screwed down tight. Like said it had maybe one turn on the nut. I'm sure like it was dirt and water could get into it. In no way am I bad mouth Detech but just saying check your coil over good. You could get the same problem from any coil company. I hope this clears this up for all. Chuck
  15. I myself when I get something new like a coil for one of my detectors I think all is well. Well my thinking has just been shot down. I've had this 7 inch coil from Detech not too long but never really checked it over but I won't do that again. What I found was the nut at the coil didn't have maybe but one turn on it. I know that this could come from any coil company and I was lucky that it hadn't gotten wet. I do find that the Detech 7" coil works great on my MX Sport and I don't regret buying it. This is just to let you know when you think you know everything you really don't. Chuck
  16. Thanks for the video. Like you I'm waiting on the other coil that should be out soon. I'm sure if we give it time we will be seeing more videos on the new HF coils. Chuck
  17. He who walks in silence carries a big stick. Chuck PS what has to do with anything NOTHING
  18. Mike C Who knows I may have shot myself in the foot by buying the Deteknix but I don't last 6 hrs. anymore myself. Like said I plan on using it on both the MX Sport and the Gold Monster 1000. I do have other detectors it will work on but only time will tell if I like or not. The trouble is if you put a kid in a candy store he has to come home with something. I was looking at the Deteknix Scuba Tector but don't have all the equipment now to put it to work. I must say it looks great and with all the videos it can do the job it was made for. What I've said just reflect only my opinion and that's about half true and half bull. Chuck
  19. Well I got back late today from that Treasure Show and nobody knows anything. The Dealers from Garrett said they only know what we all seen on that short video. It was a lot of Dealers for Minelab but nothing was known on the GM 1000. Now something I haven't heard on here and one of the guys from Minelab said that a new CTX is coming out and the price was being lowered on what will become the old CTX. Has anyone on here heard of that being true ? I did walk out the door with a Deteknix wireless headphones. I first was going to get the Garretts but this Dealer said for the money and costing less he liked the Deteknix better. You can go with the 1/8 jack and a adapter to go from 1/8 to 1/4. I started with the 1/4 jack and that will work with my MX Sport also with the adapter will work for the GM 1000.. Chuck
  20. That Deteknix Scuba Tector is another that hasn't been out long. So many new toys but just so much money to spend. Going to a Treasure Show this Saturday and hope to see some of what we've been hearing about. Chuck.
  21. Yesterday here I got my June issue of Lost Treasure and yet not at the end of April. I went from page to page but couldn't find a word about the Gold Monster 1000. Minelab I've got to hand it to you not one word is getting out unless you want it to. I just hope you Minelab don't tell me it isn't a Gold Monster 1000. By saying late April Fools joke Chuck.. I couldn't say I didn't have it coming after the one I pulled. Chuck
  22. That is a great find. i have found many coins in early 18 hundreds but never step back into the 17 hundreds. I'm still looking for my first gold coin too. Lucky Dog Lucky Dog Chuck
  23. Hey All I did hear back from Jim and he sounds okay. He let me know that in Jan 2018 he'll turn 88 and he called me a kid at 76. He talk about a 8th Edition on one of his books. I know Rob and some others sell Jim's prospecting books But I just don't keep up what is the latest. I sure Jim is not without pain and trouble as like all as we get older but that's life. I guess the best is go to a forum where he has posted and send him a PM to let him know you care for his well being. Chuck.
