Hi All I just sent Jim a email telling that so many want to know how he's doing.I have his mailing address but wanted to check if it was okay to give it out. Some of you may have it already but I needed too if it was still good. The last time I'd heard from Jim was New Years. I'll post again when I hear from him. Chuck

I too have the XP Deus with a 11" coil but am waiting on the other coil. I think the smaller coil will be more in line for nugget hunting. I wish I had the 9" coil but the dealer talk me out of it. He had both but in his opinion the 11" was a lots better coil. The 11" is great for coin hunting but I just don't pick up the Deus as often as I do the MX Sport. Chuck.

The New Garrett Is Finally Coming!
Ridge Runner replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in Garrett Metal Detectors
Here we go again with another tease. First Minelab and now Garrett with a every little show but here we are hanging on like our life depended on it. Will someone pass the chap stick.I needed it bad when Minelab says maybe May or June before we see the GM 1000. We had a name for girls in school that done the same Garrett just did. Who knows Garrett may be out before we ever see GM1000. Here my Birthday is in May and that's depressing enough but I'm having to wait on two detectors too. I'm willing to bypass the age factor. Gold Monster 1000 Not To Be In April
Ridge Runner replied to Ridge Runner's topic in Minelab Metal Detectors
Funny you're the second person in the last two day that has said Patience Grasshopper. I say to you Grasshopper has been.haha Well more or less. Chuck -
Chris G. on the Outback Forum said he got a email from Minelab and they told him that the US won't see GM 1000 maybe the end of May if not June. This no Joke and I don't know how many ways you can spell crap but this is crap. I don't think Chris would be saying if this wasn't true. To Minelab A lot of us have put their money down for a while and I'd like to hear the why. Chuck

I Like My First Review On The Gold Monster 1000
Ridge Runner replied to Ridge Runner's topic in Minelab Metal Detectors
For all here that posted. I must say I was a little miss leading but I didn't have one negative word to say about the GM 1000. The only negative thing I will say is I Don't Have It Yet. The only trouble I see in the future is no one will ever believe a word I say. Just remember I do have a wife. To Minelab You won't ever read a better review I gave on a detector I've never seen. Best to all Here Chuck -
I Like My First Review On The Gold Monster 1000
Ridge Runner replied to Ridge Runner's topic in Minelab Metal Detectors
Well guys you hit the nail on the head. I wish all of you a Happy April Fools Day. It's a 11 hundred mile drive for me to get to Rich Hill. I don't have a claim on Rich Hill but I wish I did. I've yet to see anything that looks like a GM 1000. The only thing I said was true is I do have a wife but we didn't plan on going to dinner. Sorry guys I just couldn't help myself. Chuck -
I said I was going to give a review on the Gold Monster 1000. Well the first thing this morning here it was from Rob's Detectors and I guess because I've been blowing so hard about it he sent it over night. Just after putting it together and checking to be sure it worked I was in my van headed for Rich Hill being I have a claim on the east side. In no time I found my first nugget at about little less than half gram. It came in so loud even without the headphones that came with it. My next target was even smaller than the first. I drop it on my scales but it was so small I didn't get a reading of the weight. I didn't have much time to hunt so back in my van and home I went. My wife and had plan to go out for dinner but I will get back with everyone when can. The only thing I'll say right now is if you got a Gold Bug 2 give it to someone you don't like and do it quick before the price drops out the bottom on it. Chuck

Fred When I seen the word Stetson I said to my self Fred is wanting to look cool not being cool. Way back when I bale hay and then it was a hand feed baler. What I had on my head was straw hat but one you would have seen Ma & Pa Kettle had on their heads. You could dip that hat in water and put it back on your head with the joy of being O so cool for awhile. You know things or getting bad when you have to take your detector with you to buy a hat. The Best out there nugget hunting Fred. Chuck

What I got now I don't see why I'd need to put out more than 800 to 1500 for a coin detector. Oh don't get me wrong I like my detector to ID whatever it is correct but if it don't I'll know when I bring it to life. Two moons ago my Eagle 2 said this coin was down 9 1/2" and the guy with me his detector couldn't see it. I dug it up and it had ID the coin correct. The coin was at the bottom of a small hill and dirt had wash off the top and that is the only reason it was that deep. The coin wasn't even old. Just about all the old coins I've found that date back to the early 1800 was not deep at all. On a gold detector I'm not sure just how much I'm willing to spend on one. I've had the 17000 GP Extreme 3500 4500 2300 and now got the Gold Monster 1000 on the way. I guess you could say I'm advancing to the rear. I didn't list other detector but just the ones from Minelab. I'd have to be living in gold country are the gold fever would have to hit me harder than it has already. If I did live in gold country I'd had the GPZ long ago even at a dollar less than 10. If I was rich I'd drive a dozier around Rich Hill and cut about 6" off the top as I drove around. In this way I wouldn't need that high dollar detector. I too could charge off the dozier off my tax saying I'm clearing ground for BLM. Chuck

JP On GPZ 19 Compared To GPZ 14 - With Video!
Ridge Runner replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in Minelab Metal Detectors
Steve & JP Thanks you Steve for posting it and JP for making the video. Everyday we turn around the GPZ with the 19" coil is making history. For all the other detectors I could have had a GPZ but for me it's not so much cost but the weight. Oh well my Birthday is coming up in May and I'm sure my wife will get it for me.ha Chuck -
Africa And The Gold Monster 1000
Ridge Runner replied to Ridge Runner's topic in Minelab Metal Detectors
Well today I have to eat my words. I never get the IMCJ magazine before the first of the month but today I get it two days before. This has never happen before but here it is early. Oh I looked from one end to the other and only thing I found was a ad by Rob's Detectors showing it He was the only Minelab Dealer who said or shown anything on the Gold Monster 1000 I guess I'll just have to wait but it's weight that broke the wagon down. Africa And The Gold Monster 1000
Ridge Runner replied to Ridge Runner's topic in Minelab Metal Detectors
Chris ICMJ is the only magazine I know of that comes out at the the first day of the month it's intended for. Just maybe the ICMJ may be the first magazine that has a word on the Gold Monster 1000. One thing about it we won't have to wait long because this Saturday is the first day of April. I don't know how many on here get the ICMJ on here but if you into gold in any way you need get this magazine. You can get a copy each month just about any way you want. I like to get the mag. in the mail on paper because I do a lot of reading in my office.ha Chuck -
220lb (100kg) Gold Coin Stolen

Tesoro Mojave For Nugget Detecting
Ridge Runner replied to Rob Allison's topic in Compass, D-Tex, Tesoro, Etc.
Tesoro is a detector I've yet to own and I really can't say why. I've gone more for the detector that has a readout and I don't think they offer that on any of their detectors. Like said I know zero about Tesoro. other than they have a life time warranty. Bryan what you posted on the Mojave sounds great for a low cost detector. Chuck -
How Low Will They Go ?
Ridge Runner replied to Ridge Runner's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
Strick You can't have too many detectors. You need some to hunt with but you need others to hold up the walls in your home. It's like a friend says and he loves guns. If he buys a gun he may never shoot it but he's got one and he can sit enjoy just looking at it. I'd say I'm the same way about detectors. The Best Chuck -

How Low Will They Go ?
Ridge Runner replied to Ridge Runner's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
Well said Tom. So what do you see in the future for what White's may have to offer in the way of High Tech ? It hadn't been long you yourself wanted someone to test a detector and if can say what was that all about ? You can correct me if I'm wrong but I'd say that White's are on the short end of the stick when it comes to nugget detectors. The TDI SL is a good detector for the money but like my SPP without all the bells that ding like the SL it too will find gold for the money it cost. So many of us would be willing to spend the money on a American made detector if you can bring the level of detecting up some. I think everybody and their brother can make a coin detector but as we see that don't hold true when it comes to a nugget detector. There is still lots of gold to be found in my life time and yours plus many more life times. It has to do with rain and if your detector can detect deeper than the one before you. Don't hold back on the price of a nugget detector but give us that high tech edge we need in the field to find gold. Oh for what it's worthy Tom I still love my MX Sport. Chuck -
You Nugget Hunt Alone Or With A Friend
Ridge Runner replied to Ridge Runner's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
MXT When I'm alone I worry the whole time when I get back if I still got everything. It's like people years ago nobody lock their home and most didn't even know where the key was but that's not the case anymore. It's not just what they will take but the harm some will do to you. Chuck
