Do You Know Robert L. Tatham
Ridge Runner replied to Ridge Runner's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
I think that I still have some True Treasure and Treasure World. I’m devastated that it was said that some of Long John’s stories may not be true. Him and Mel Fisher was my hero’s . I always went by Mel’s motto and that was . How many of you know it ? haha I don’t know about you but each time I go out I take a positive attitude that the day is the day I find that Treasure. I never put a size on Treasure . It’s been lots of time I’ve come home with nothing but the pleasure of out there detecting. Treasure hunting is like fishing in its not the one you found but the big one you didn’t find . ( as in got away) Chuck -
Best Time To Buy A New Detector
Ridge Runner replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
Guys I know what you say is true but with me it’s somewhat different. Anytime I have money in my pocket it’s the time for me to buy . I don’t care what time of the year it is . Chuck -
I was just wondering if you had the opportunity to test a new detector before it came on the market would you be willing to do it ? Most of the time it’s given to people you could say that their name is in lights . We have so many people that has been swinging a detector for years that are more qualified than the so call star . Let me hear your view point on this subject . If you ever have the pleasure or opportunity to do it in the pass let us hear that too . Chuck

From what it’s worth department after what was said about the word Invader I done a search. I came up with that word is used more than I got kids and grandkids. So with that said I don’t see a problem using it. I really don’t care what they name it . I just want it to smoke anything on the market now. Chuck

Equinox On The Treasure Coast
Ridge Runner replied to afreakofnature's topic in Minelab Equinox Forum
Texas has Treasure Coast and I got a map showing where you can find three different ships. I have pictures showing what was found by treasure hunters and what was found after Texas ran them off. This happen in 67 and then it was made a National Sea Shore In 68 so you can’t hunt it with a detector. I’m sure some may do it but it could be bad . Chuck -
My thinking to have a really great gold show you need to be in gold country to start with. It’s a long drive for me from San Antonio to Phoenix but I’m going to do my best to make it. It’s just a more exciting time had there than others I’ve made . Chris do you think maybe you will be there and Steve too ? I was there once before and had the pleasure of meeting you both and hope to get that opportunity again. Chuck

Steve Herschbach has anyone ever told you that you are full of bull !? Go write this on your bathroom wall that Chuck Anders said you could be . Where did you get 699 from? Chuck -
Do I know of anything coming out the doors of White’s Electronic for 2019 ? Well let’s just say that I know about as much as you do and at this point that’s nothing. It’s a fun thing to dream and I’ve long been a dreamer. We have seen MX this and MX that but is this a good enough name for what’s on the way? Just maybe White’s will like one of the names we post here and it will be attached to this unknown detector. Even I got to put my thinking cap on for this . Chuck

How Much Are You Willing To Pay For The Orx
Ridge Runner replied to Ridge Runner's topic in XP Metal Detectors
Thank you parkgt for trying to get this post back on track . I wanted this detector for lack of weight. I also wanted it because it had a gold and coin mode showing two each . It’s a video showing you if you want to coin hunt you should get the 9” round coil but if you want to nugget hunt then get the 9X5 coil . It was said we don’t pick the price and I don’t pick a over price detector either. I believe the ORX will be like the last of the three little pigs in that it will be wee wee wee all the way back to France . Chuck -

Ridge Runner replied to Ridge Runner's topic in XP Metal Detectors
Steve You’re right why in the Sam Hill am I looking at the ORX. Well you can take this and write it on the bathroom wall are anywhere you want that Chuck is not anymore. I’ve done called the Minelab dealer that I want to order another Nox 800 with the 6” coil. This makes the second Nox I’ve had within a year . I tell you now that I will not darken the door of this post ever again. Thank You Mr. Herschbach for straightening me out in my sinning ways. I have seen the light . I should you shining that things right in my eyes .haha Chuck -
Hi Jim Years ago I was big into bottle collecting. I ask you did you know when 7 up first came out it was in a brown short body long neck beer bottle? The first soda bottles had a round bottom so it couldn’t stand up and this was to keep the cork wet so it wouldn’t leak . Way back when just about every town bottle coke. The middle of the bottle was square and you had the name of the town where it was bottled. The top and the bottom was the same as you see them now. Like said just the center of it was square. like coins, bottles hold more history than you would think. Chuck

How Much Are You Willing To Pay For The Orx
Ridge Runner replied to Ridge Runner's topic in XP Metal Detectors
Right now we have a true multi frequency detector for the same price of 899.00 as the ORX. The ORX have soon of the same as the detector that I’m referring to but comes up short on two major things . One it’s not waterproof and the other is it’s not a multi frequency detector . It does have a wireless coil but a wired coil in the long run is better. Looking over the manual the ORX don’t show a depth meter. Okay us add or subtract the true value of the ORX. The ORX is not waterproof. That’s a 100 less. The ORX is not a multi frequency detector. That’s another 100 less. The ORX don’t have a depth meter. Some of the cheapest detectors have that . That I’d say 50 off for the like of. The ORX has a wireless coil but that don’t add are take away. Not waterproof 100 not a MF detector 100 No depth meter 50 That adds up with a total off their ORX of 250.00. Take 899.00 Less 250.00 649.00 is a fair price on what the ORX has to offer. I was thinking about getting it but this alone has made me think about maybe I don’t want it. Chuck -
What Coil Would You Buy With Your Orx
Ridge Runner replied to Ridge Runner's topic in XP Metal Detectors
Steve I’m not sure if I’ll buy the ORX but I know what you say I can take it to the bank and cash it in. Thanks for reply . Chuck -
Every dealer so far is showing the ORX selling for 899.00. What do you think this detector should be selling for ? Even if you can access lots of frequencies it’s still one at a time. It comes with wireless headphones and wireless coil but a chain is no stronger than its weakest link . The wireless headphones go out no big deal because you have a speaker to fall back on . That coil battery goes south or you forget to charge it,you’re down. Let’s hear from you! Chuck

I was looking over the manual on the ORX and I was wondering what’s the best coil in the field detecting. The manual shows the 9” can run in 15,30 and up to 50 kHz. The Elliptical can run in 15 , 30 but can run in 80 KHz too . I can see if you plan on nugget hunting the 80 KHz could be more favorable for you. You can see it also hits the 15 and 30 KHz say for coin hunting. The real problem between the two coils is the depth as I can see it. I feel the round 9” could be a good nugget hunter but just can’t hit 80 KHz . I don’t plan on running out tomorrow and buying the ORX . I just like your opinion and to put your thinking caps on . It really don’t make any difference how many frequencies you can access it’s still a single frequency detector . Chuck PS To get the full benefit of what this detector has to offer you need three coils.
