Beginning of next year. The mechanics are in the process of being manufactured. Battery: There is no problem, the autonomy is simply 3:30 in the most powerful mode. On the worlwide version you can find the 3500 mah li ion battery cells inside the upper shaft. High temperature enclosure: This temperature is normal, and the enclosure passes all outdoor high temperature tests. This is what differentiates, it's the more sensitivity and power that the other models from other brands. Noisy coil in the salt : It is a phenomenon which was recently reached us, it is 2 detectors on the series, we study a problem on the coil shielding on these 2 models. Short shaft: The lower shaft has been lengthened. Cable connector : When we have a plastic connector it is a well known phenomenon, it is not a problem. The other brands use a plastic connector and have the same phenomenon. I am currently evaluating the metal connector with integrated shielding to differentiate us from the competition, these connectors are very expensive and nobody uses them in the market because of the price. If these connectors pass the seawater resistance test, they can be used for the worlwide version.

Here is the stability video of the impulse AQ in 36 PSU (sea surface salinity). Here it's just the searchcoil going into a puddle with dynamic sweep, but it gives you an idea of the behavior. Here we were at 7 us delay but I do not recommend. I recommend 11.5us in the water and a sensitivity of 4 maximum. (3 is good) Sensitivity is not linear. Between 4 and the max you may only gain 15% but you will lose all the statibility. You can see that the ATS stabilizes well, it recalibrates very quickly. If you do not get this result there is potentially a problem with the searchcoil.

Finally Struck Gold!
ALEXANDRE TARTAR replied to cudamark's topic in First Texas - Bounty Hunter, Fisher & Teknetics
Here are some videos. It should be noted that everything depends on the nature of the metal of the hairpin or the iron nail, its depth, its angle etc ... We hear the double 'wooo wooo' on the hairpin and on the iron nail. Here is the best sound you will get, when the target is deeper the experience will allow you to recognize the target. -
Finally Struck Gold!

It reminds me of Le_Jag's story from last year. Rommel's "asparagus" (2nd world war) appeared on one of the French beaches, denis was warned a little late of this phenomenon. 6 prospectors equipped with Minelab were present for a week before his arrival with the IMPULSE AQ. They were still there when Denis started to detect. It was an unbelievable shame when the IMPULSE AQ beat the MINELABs. We are talking here about 10 against 1 gold jewels found for the Minelabs and at 1 prospector against 6. I think it's a good example, An article was written in the French magazine "Monnaies et detection" This is what you can expect when you know your equipment well and also know the research areas well. -
Finally Struck Gold!
ALEXANDRE TARTAR replied to cudamark's topic in First Texas - Bounty Hunter, Fisher & Teknetics
Switching from VLFs to PIs is often difficult. You come here from another world. The Impulse AQ is extremely sensitive and powerful compared to an Equinox or Excalibur. The IMPULSE AQ can even relegate them to the rank of toys in certain situations. It will already take you several months to tame the beast if you know the PIs well, and it will take you even longer if you only know the VLFs. You may lose a little time at the start but you will certainly find a lot of gold more in a year of detection. (if your goal is to find more gold). Otherwise there is no point in continuing with the IMPULSE AQ as much as using a Minelab. But that would be a shame, because you leave the possibility that other prospectors will detect before you on the static areas and not leave much at reasonable depth for a Minelab. We can help you get what you want. 1st For each situation a specific use and settings (wet sand, underwater, magnetic ground, ....) We need to ask you several questions. (sorry) What types of soil do you want to detect? What kind of soil did you start on? In which detection mode do you want to detect? What is your swing speed? Too often we see prospector using VLFs sweeping too quickly. Not that the IMPULSE AQ isn't fast on the contrary, but it will lose precious inches and the smallest sounds (the most interesting) Regarding the battery, I advise you to charge it the day before your outing at the latest and not to leave it plugged into the detector while waiting. The high capacity NIMH discharges quickly in the air, here the IMPULSE AQ needs the smallest mAh of power available. Here is a setting that I recommend on wet sand to begin with (non-volcanic and not underwater). MODE: ALL METAL OR MUTE VOLUME: 7 SENSITIVITY: 3 ATS: 9 REJECT: 8 * PULSE DELAY: 10 or more If the small gold targets sounded like a huge target, its because it was close to the surface. For a powerful device this is what usually happens. In extremely polluted areas some prospectors only dig on small sounds, because they believe that the others could not be forgotten by the VLFs and are therefore trash. In ALL METAL mode, to confirm and obtain quality and recognizable sound signals, simply raise the searchcoil to the limit of detection to hear the double beeps, it is also necessary to cross the swing. A hairpin will not sound the same in both directions. You should know that even with the settings of the IMPULSE AQ at 25%, the IMPULSE AQ will always be more powerful and sensitive than a Minelab. So you should not try to optimize the settings directly when starting with this new detector. -
AQ Day 2
ALEXANDRE TARTAR replied to cudamark's topic in First Texas - Bounty Hunter, Fisher & Teknetics
It's not Le_Jag (denis) It's another person whose name is Denis but who doesn't spelt the same way --> Denys He lives in Reunion, and uses BBS. He is not used to PI detectors. So he picked up all the targets during 7 days (3 hours per day) The Jag certainly wouldn't have had as much iron junk... -
I believe that Le_Jag on one of the last IMPULSE AQ V2 prototype, the pulse delay is at 5.5 µs on wet sand but it will be necessary to ask him, I do not remember. (I believe that at 6µs it is very stable.) We can improve between 3 and 4 inches for the 18k 2.5grs rings with the new experimental IMPULSE AQ systems. But with Le_Jag we came to the conclusion that we can no longer dig, gaining numbers of holes vs finds is not in our favor.

This is a very good question and I see what you are thinking ... For the gold nuggets reseach with an AQ: In heavy magnetite, the TONE mode and MUTE mode will not work. It does not mask enough. I prefer to talk about cutting or masking magnetic ground rather than talking about balance. You would not be able to easily obtain a ground balance as on the TDI for the search for gold nuggets with the AQ. It's depends of the ATS setting ... Only the volcanic mode can mask correctly this type of ground, but you will hardly find the point of equilibrium because in general you will be well beyond this point when the ground is masked) Much of the very gold nuggets is therefore eliminated due to the attenuation of the signal caused by strong masking. On the wet sand: At the beach when there are concentrations of magnetic sand the detector will sound like an iron nail at this place, so it will make a low pitch in TONE mode. If the sand is made up of different layers that undulate in depth, the bass sound will vary continuously. In Mute mode, the magnetic sand layers are masked (but not balanced, we are not on the point of equilibrium we are well beyond when the ground is masked) This does not prevent finding the gold jewelry. If it's too strong, we must used the VOLCANIC SAND mode. And again, this does not prevent finding the gold jewelry. You will reduce the depth due to the attenuation of the signal caused by strong masking. But we must not forget that for all the other detectors it is a zero inch detection!

If the MUTE mode is sufficient to cut this type of sand, it is preferable to use it, because it will increase the depth of detection. If it is not sufficient as steve says, you must switch to VOLCANIC SAND MODE, if you have arrived in this mode it means that no other detector will work. In this case, a 20 grs gold signet ring put on the sand will make no sound with a VLF or BBS. I'm desperately trying to find the videos!

Wireless Transmitter For Impulse
ALEXANDRE TARTAR replied to Tmox's topic in First Texas - Bounty Hunter, Fisher & Teknetics
You're right and yet this is where it is most powerful! And where he shows his full potential ... -
No problem, these are phenomena that only appear part of the year on a few hundred kilometers of beach in ours country. No detector works, it's like trying to detect on an iron plate, in ALL METAL mode the detectors sound everywhere and in discrimination mode the detectors make a permanent sound cutoff. IMPULSE project started from a bet with a friend that it would be impossible to detect through this sand with a new metal detector model.

The impulse AQ is not performed by bluetooth if you use an external module. It is affected by bluetooth only if the engineering puts and a module in the enclosure All detectors are affected by bluetooth if the module is in the enclosure, only many detectors are not sensitive enough to see it.
