  1. Is this an effort in marketing by ML, put on FB to draw attention away from E1500 and back to big gold? Talk about a Zed plug. I traced the find back 3 months to another article, but was uncomfortable posting an Enews link.
  2. Definately caught ML knapping.. Should stir things up again, once you and others can get some field videos, assuming it performs of course. Nothing I've read so far indicates it won't though. Just waiting on your reports....lol
  3. Left field... What are the chances the E1500 has a deep gold sibling? Or programmable update? May not be ML who supersede the current deep gold detectors mentioned. The way the E1500 came outta nowhere.... lol..just say'n.
  4. Cheers, been hearing the same. I just can't find anything official that says discontinued manufacturing?
  5. So is the 5000 discontinued, and just selling new old stock!? Or just not being sold US and low production? Anyone got a definite please? Dave.
  6. Unfortunately, upgrades saw the GB readout become superfluous with the GB range and centre changing with each new upgrade. Rudimentary tracking that was being tested may have brought it back into play with the figures moving as you detected. Unfortunately this has never made it to a standard for customer release, and to my knowledge is still being worked on. I think the QED missed it's chance.
  7. A bit left field, But would ML have raised it's prices knowing this was coming, and possibly have their own budget machine for the same price range? Pure speculation, but many here have their ear to the ground.
  8. The so called "Heritage" artefacts cannot be more than 200yrs old. European sites are digging up coins and relics from prehistory.(before Christ), while Aussie mining companies are destroying the native/indigenous history of over 60000yrs! Yet this fuss is being made about trinkets dropped by convicts and miners, while exploration grants to mine large areas are being handed out to companies. Bureaucracy gone mad!! I've signed and donated!
  9. Oliver make a variety of metal free boots. While made overseas now, they originated in Ballarat Vic making boots for miners. https://www.oliver.com.au/45-series-150mm-wheat-lace-up-boot-45632 Have had mine for 2 years without a hitch. Previous boots including Keene and redback had peeling soles after just 6 mnths of boot scraping around the GT.
  10. Why would you run the Zed 19" in anything other than ultradeep? Defeats the purpose. I'm sure settings for max depth for coil size were being used on the modded 5000 (still great results) .
  11. So many decisions for a Noob to deal with. imagine if they came in different colours too.🙂 Some sort of base scale would be handy though, eg. Should pick up a 10c at 20cm out of the box for park, 50cm beach or some such and adjust from there. As I don't use it much, I find my old Quattro pre-sets find enough when out with the kids to make it enjoyable. I'm sure those more serious would want more, just as I do when gold detecting. After working my way up to the ZED it's hard to use another PI with confidence, and I'm sure VLF is the same, but harder, having no real King of VLF machines, there seems much confusion.
  12. Can't help but wonder where detectors would be, if manufacturers spent a little more time on coil quality, instead of filters to compensate. Aftermarket always seems to have an edge.
