  1. I have a Simplex+ and am thinking seriously of thinking selling the Simplex and buying the Vanquish 440.I have nothing really negative to say about the Simplex. I have the Nox 800 and think that the TID on the Vanquish will be similar to the Nox 800 for the same targets? Am I right? With the Simplex and the Nox 800 I have two sets of numbers to remember. Don't need that.Plus I like the tones on the 800 better than the Simplex. How do the tones on the V 440 compare to the 800?Plus I like the Multi-frequency aspect of the Vanquish. Thanks for any help you can give me.
  2. You have to get up early to get the scoop first. Dilek just posted early this morning regarding the update. https://www.facebook.com/noktadetectors/ There will most likely be another update, using suggestions given by current Simplex users with current update. Some complaints by those who want to revert back a version or two. Not recommended. Also the new accessory coils will not work with any Simplex that hasn't been updated to the current version. Guess this is why the accessory coils haven't been made available yet. Who knows how far this Simplex project is going,on its way to being the perfect product? For the price this detector is getting better and better.
  3. In case you don't know about it. Nokta/Makro Simplex+ Software Update (2020.04.21) : System Software V2.77 Download : System Software V2.77 1. Mute Function has been added Press the Pinpoint Button once to mute your detector without going into settings. This will help eliminate the interference noise from pinpointers that operate at the same frequency. 2. Audio levels for wired headphones 2 sets of audio levels have been added when the device is used with wired headphones. Choose between Low (L1-L4) or High (H1-H4).
  4. Dilek has just posted an update regarding the Simplex update on Facebook, regarding the Covid-19 restrictions in Turkey. They are working hard to bring out the updates soon. https://www.facebook.com/noktadetectors
  5. Well, I have to admit I was totally wrong about accessory coils for the Simplex+. Every other new model from this company was swamped with accessory coils in short order, and I assumed it would be the same with Simplex. Nothing from Nokta/Makro and no aftermarket coils either after half a year. The difference now is so striking it makes me wonder what is up. Or have I missed something?
  6. Well, this hunt pre-dates the problems I had with the latest update, which is covered in another thread. I went to a local property that had been farmed for over 100 years. I used Park mode over a well grassed lawn opposite where the original farm house was built. The day was extremely hot, in excess of 40 Celsius and the humidity was close to 100%. Oppressive. 3 hours later and I had detected 15 pre-decimal coins. A terrific hunt by anyone’s standards. I ended up with what we call a full House. (A complete set of each coin issued during pre-decimal times.) In fact, I got equal to two of them. An added bonus was that one of the florins was a commemorative issue. The down side was that, subsequently, a neighbour of the farmer learned of my success and managed to convince the landowner to let him detect the property, trampling all over my permission. They’re out there folks. I was so impressed with the Simplex that I contacted Nokta and told them of my experience with the machine. They asked me to send a short story and photos so they could put it on their website. I did, and they did. More than that, the story and a photo was put up on Instagram and in a full page advertisement in an Aussie treasure magazine. A lot more than I signed up for. I don’t blame them really but felt I had been a little (Lot?) used. Yeah, I know, I’m sticking my head up here, too. Anyway, I have to say I am impressed that such a low cost machine can perform so well. I am impatiently waiting for the current pandemic to subside so I can get out and see just how well the latest update enhances the machine. It’s just a pity that I won’t be able to run over my original site as a comparison.
  7. Hello all! Just recieved my Simplex today from Kellyco, set it up, charged the machine and I cant get it to turn on. So I let it charge for around an hour. It just flashes the Simplex logo while charging. So I unplugged it, took it outside and hold the power button down for the 3 seconds or longer and nothing. I dont know if I'm doing something wrong or if I need to contact Kellyco. Appreciate any help you may have. Thanks.
  8. The manual that came with my Simplex shows I should have 5 Frequency Shifts on my Simplex but the detector shows only 3 . I’d like to hear from anyone on what your detector has . This has been talked about already but if just think about making a change you’re too late. Sometimes you have to push a button just right but again you could be too late because of that . I don’t know how others feel but after about the third time of having to deal with this I’m ready to set it aside. It would help if you didn’t have to cycle from the start point again. If it stayed locked at the last point until you wanted to move would be great. I’ll say Thanks ahead for your response. Chuck

  10. Hello everyone , I am new to this community and I am looking forward to share my detecting experience as I get familiar with the site. I am interested to see if others are having difficulty with the low volume on the Simplex green wireless headphones . I am older and don’t think my hearing is that bad but I really struggle to hear the sounds with these headphones. I bought the Simplex as a detector that my friends can use if I have an extra guest on a hunt . I normally use a Deus and have no trouble hearing the soft tones on deep targets . Does anyone have any info on the Simplex phone volume ?
  11. Hi all! I'm new to metal detecting, and am looking to upgrade my machine soon. I got into detecting in September, when I got my harbor freight 9 function detector. I've had a lot of fun and have made some great finds. However, with all the clad and silver I've found, I've been thinking of upgrading, that's when I started hearing about the simplex. MY first question is if I buy a simplex, how do I get the battery replaced if it ever goes bad? What about after the warranty expires? Am I correct in my understanding that it's internal and has to be replaced by nokta? Is it possible to replace the battery myself? Second, is about coils. Is it possible different coils will be available in the future? Finally, headphones. Is it possible to buy the base model now, and buy noktas wireless headphones later? I currently use some cheapy ear buds, but want to be able to upgrade later, so want to be sure and get the correct variant. Thanks
  12. Well I’m not sure but I think this is my second time out with my Simplex . I was detecting and the last time out I had blocked several ID numbers. Before I left home I’d viewed the video on doing a reset. I told myself just do that and clear all at one time. Well that worked great and away I went detecting. After pinpointing the third target I didn’t have any sound but showed the ID . I checked the volume and all other settings but couldn’t find anything wrong. I did hear the speaker crackle one time but that was it. I called the repair center and they said send it in with a note saying about the trouble I’m having. Nothing was said about the center paying shipping.. But that’s life! Chuck
  13. Hi all...new to forum as I am also new to metal detecting. Just received my Simplex, going over the settings and I noticed something that I hope other owners can help me with. In the manual it says there are 5 Frequency Shift settings, F1 thru F5. In every YouTube video I've watched, that shows the settings of the Simplex, I've seen these 5 "F" settings. But on mine I have just 3 (F1, F2 & F3). Does anyone know why mine is just showing 3? Yes I've updated the firmware and running v2.68. Note: it was also showing just 3 Frequency Shift setting options before I updated the firmware from v2.67.
  14. The detector is able to operate normally even when charging from a power bank😏. It cannot be paired with regular bt headphones😐.
  15. To revert back to factory defaults please follow the steps below: * Turn the detector on by pressing the power button. * Once the SIMPLEX+ logo appears on the screen, press and hold down the Settings and Pinpoint/Confirm button simultaneously until 3 short beeps are heard. For a hard reset in case of any unresponsiveness of the system, press and hold down for about 6 seconds.
  16. I think you would like a coil like this on your Simplex Tom. Very thin. Sweeps thru the water incredible.
  17. Iffy Signals Dec 1, 2019 - We took the Simplex and Vanquish to a 1675 permission and compared some signals throughout the day.

  20. I’m posting this to help our fellow man or woman. What we have out here is a lot of V -Want to be’s But the only place they can get them is at Shaft Sports. So you ask what can a Simplex + owner do . Well first just let them hold your Simplex and tell them they can buy it from a dealer that will be there after the sale . If they ask why holding the Simplex it makes them nervous. Be sure to tell them you got it on vibrate. Do let them know it’s waterproof too . If they want to know how many different Simplex + are they just let them down easy and tell them Dilek said just one . I myself was looking maybe to buy a V but you won’t find me at Shaft Spots buying it . At this time in my life with my Simplex + I’m not sure of the need of a V. Chuck
  21. Hello I am from France where we are lucky, cause I have received my Simplex 1 month ago. My question is : is there a wireless headphone, not from NOKTA, working for SIMPLEX ? Now, there are 5 NOKTA Headphones. Green, blue, red and black and waterproof...
  22. My Simplex arrived today, and of course its snowing and 25 degrees out. Yesterday it was 75. So I'm stuck inside for a few days and figured I might as well make the most of the situation. Air depths in all metal mode were about an inch greater than the audio in park mode. These are all air tests, it will be interesting how this unit does in real soil testing conditions. I had an EQ800 and loved it, but had to let it go in summer when my wife ran up some hefty medical bills. This unit is waterproof like the EQ, but an affordable price tag( for me). I think I will really like the expanded target readout range. That was one thing I disliked about the EQ, was the compressed VID numbers. The EQ was one heck of a performer , but I think I will have just as much fun with this unit! When it warms up I will get out and share my results , thoughts and opinions! HH. Red
