Dcraun
I found this coin on top of a hill in an area where I have found lots of relics. Both Confederate and Union items have turned up in this general area. The coin looks to be made around the mid 1800s . I would like to think it was carried by a soldier but I'll never know. The obverse side where the state, lodge# and individuals name would have been has been intentionally wiped clean the rim around the edge is still intact so I don't think it's normal wear. Maybe he was trying to hide his identity.
jim tn
Pretty nice find! Wouldn't it be grand if some of our relics could talk? Good hit! HH jim tn
JCR
That is a very unique find. At that time being a Mason could spare your life.

Valens Legacy
Nice find and I hope someone can identify it a little bit better, as I would love to see a photo os what they looked like new. Good luck on your next outing and stay safe out there.

Unfortunately the land owner keeps everything at this site
