The phone app is the way to go for settings, now I've got a pinpointer with a phone app using anything else seems primitive, going to something like the F-Pulse where settings are an insane combination of things that is very hard to remember unless you change settings often is a massive step backwards.

Having a settings app also allows a lot of settings to be on the pinpointer you wouldn't even consider with button press/hold down combinations.

With how dirty my pinpointer gets the screen option doesn't seem the best of idea but maybe it works well, won't know without trying it, the phone apps still better, I think, and there is always still the option of doing main settings the old-fashioned way if you don't have your phone with you.

With many of my sites, the ground is 1 step away from being mud. My detector, gloves, digger, and pinpointer are covered in it. No way I'll be able to use the screen in those sites.

The screen is nice to have, but having a screen and a phone app would be ideal. Does anyone know anything about making phone apps? I'm thinking a phone app for a pinpointer would be very basic coding that would be child's play for an app developer.

The pinpointer software itself would have to have the code to support the commands coming from Bluetooth, so you couldn't just make a phone app for the new Nokta pointer even though it supports Bluetooth.

Ya, the pinpointer itself would have to be modified, and it's too late for that. With so many devices conveniently being controlled by an app now, I would have thought that it be a no brainer feature for all new higher end pinpointers.

Maybe Nokta already has the controller built into the pinpointer, and a few months down the road...Surprise!, here's a phone app for you! I'm sure that's wishful thinking, but then again, the new Score detectors are "surprise" x10.

On other venues, there seems to be confusion as to whether the Score models are SMF (like the Legend, Nox, D2, Manti, etc), or MF like the X-Terra Pro.

In everything I've read and saw from Dilek when she referred to the Legend, Dilek used the term SMF. In the video, Dilek and the U.S. rep, refer to the Score models as MF. I'm thinking that's pretty conclusive evidence that the Score models are MF, just like the X-Terra Pro.

No, they are SMF. There are 3 Multi Frequency options as well as a single 15 kHz on both versions!

Thanks for the confirmation on that Dilek.

I was told by from what I thought was a very reputable source, that the Score 1 only had 1 SMF mode, and no SF mode, To have you confirm what they actually have is helpful.
