You Never Know What You Might Find In Your Own Yard....

I live on a 20 acre farm property in northern Alberta, Canada that was homesteaded in 1930. I practice my detecting technique in the yard. 

I've found a number of cool items including WW2 RAF buttons, some jewelry, and several coins (1929-1961).

I recently purchased a 17 inch coil for my CTX, and I took it for a test spin in the yard a few days ago, despite the cold weather.

I hit a 12.46 (silver quarter) target at 9 inches about 50 feet from my front door, next to an old spruce tree. Out popped a well used 1938 quarter. 

I'll take a Depression Era silver any day.....

My property used to be a farm too, but ive only found a couple pennies, the oldest 1941, I hold out hope that if there are pennies there might be dimes or quarters but no luck so far, lots of junk and iron

 

I did find a cap gun maybe circa 1950s, so that was cool

Great find as it is mostly silver for sure and worth more than a quarter today.

Wow, that's awesome! Finding stuff like RAF buttons, jewelry, and old coins in your yard must be so cool. And getting a silver quarter from 1938—what a find! Yard detecting sounds like a fun hobby, especially on a farm that's been around for so long.
