  1. Yup, just another 7K for a 12V charger! Minelab 12V car adapter Part# 0302-0082
  2. Brandon Neice - “It's almost like the Deus and CTX got together and made a baby”!
  3. And we finally have a price. The Pro-Find 35 is $129 and Pro-Find 15 is only $99. For reference the Garrett Carrott is $127.45
  4. The Equinox 800 comes with built in high speed Bluetooth but if that is not fast enough, they include a WiStream module for even faster audio performance. The WM08 unlike the WM10 and WM12 does not have its own speaker built in, so it is half the size. The WM08 allows you to use any non-wireless headphone you wish without being tethered to the Detector. A neat idea also is including screen protectors made to fit that have labels identifying some of the on-screen control icons. In multiple languages!
  5. Must have been an error in the brochure - it has been temporarily deleted from Minelab's website. I will replace the link when it becomes available again. Edit - brochure link is back Minelab Equinox 600 / 800 Brochure
  6. Tone break would be big. Right now anyone using two tone ferrous is stuck with a factory break point that is too high, forcing some to use mono tone with a lower disc setting as a work around. I would like to see notching / discrimination run all the way to high coin also, but that’s a very minor thing compared to the tone break. Makung it where DST can really be disabled, especially while in all metal mode, would be good. In theory you can shut DST off but it does not seem to get a person back to where pre-DST machines were as far as all metal performance. I will admit to being a little disappointed. I was looking for the big next generation announcement. Instead, it looks like they are trying to breath new life into old models as a way to bridge the gap between now and whenever the new generation arrives. Which in turn makes me think we have a long wait yet before that happens. I hope I am wrong. In the meantime we have this to find out more about at least. Maybe they added wireless headphone capability. That’s an easy upgrade without actually having to improve on performance.
  7. Nobody knows yet. Lots of rumors being promoted. Anything less than an official Minelab announcement should be ignored, and even that taken with a grain of salt when it appears.
  8. Well with MX Sport at 4.23 lbs and MX7 3.56 lbs then you are looking at 0.67 lbs less on your arm, and with better balance (less nose heavy) than MX Sport. Thanks Tom!
  9. Wow, now that's a great showpiece! It was nice chatting with you Keith - hopefully for longer in warmer weather next time
  10. From the Minelab Equinox 600 / 800 Getting Started Guide * This asterisk appears throughout the guide, indicating features only available on the EQUINOX 800 model. Click for larger versions...

  12. Great to see you posting again JP, and better yet to see you getting the gold! If anyone is wondering about this comment from JP "The Super D coils really do need to be kept above saturation effect for maximum depth on the deeper pieces" here are two previous threads that address the question in detail: Minelab GPZ 7000 A Super VLF ( Saturable Soil Tips ) and Minelab White Paper - GPZ 7000 In Difficult Ground
  13. No real information yet but this was just posted to the Fisher Facebook page. The Fisher F75+ is on the way! The Fisher F75 is the company's flagship model, and so I assume this is an update with some sort of additional features, otherwise we would be looking at a different model name. Time will tell.
  14. No information yet but this was just posted on the Teknetics Facebook page. The Teknetics T2+ is on the way. The Teknetics T2 is the company's flagship model and so I would surmise this is an updated model with some sort of additional feature? If it was a truly new detector I would expect a new model name.
  15. If you look at the specs at MX7 & MX Sport Compared you will see the MX7 listed as 3.6 lbs and the MX Sport at 4.2 lbs. I only pay attention to weights with batteries installed (operational weight on arm) and I have found most manufacturer specs in catalogs and on websites to be inaccurate, and guess which way. The White's MX Sport is shown in the manual as being 4 lbs, but I weighed one with batteries installed on my postal scales and got 4.23 lbs. The MX7 is listed at 3.6 lbs in the manual and so just over a half pound lighter, but I do not know if that is accurate as I have not confirmed it personally. Based on White's figures the MX7 is 0.4 lbs lighter than an MX Sport, but I think it is more like 0.6 lbs lighter. Until somebody puts an MX7 with batteries installed on a postal scale that's the best I can offer. The bottom line is it is lighter and with the 950 coil should also be better balanced. Yeah, the MX7 is an MX Sport in a lighter weight, better balanced, less expensive package. It can be used to wading depths (keep control box and pod out of water) and so a better deal for anyone except those who actually want to submerge the detector. Since the 950 coil is buoyant (the downside of being lighter) a person would however probably want one of the epoxy filled wading coil options if that was a major part of the use. Thanks for the report. Anyone else interested can follow the link above and listen to the recording of the show. White's MX7 search coil options
  16. I noticed no degradation in the audio with the new setting options turned off. In theory if you do not engage the new settings there should be no difference. If you engage the new features, it SHOULD sound different. Are you saying the audio has changed, even if you leave the new settings off? It is not hard to roll back to the old firmware version however, and that is probably the only way to get a real answer to your question.
  17. Since the Impact has been out less than a year, and has a transferable warranty, Nokta will replace a defective coil. Never owned a MarsMD coil myself so can’t answer the main question.

  19. I appreciate that Bob. A couple people in particular advocated for this forum, and once it got set up have never posted to it. I will be more active on it personally this winter though.
  20. To be clear - I do not know when the Equinox will be available to actually have and hold. Until Minelab makes an official announcement everything else is just speculation or wishful thinking. How many detectors do you have anyway Chuck? Something tells me you will survive. Take the time like I am doing to do a little house cleaning maybe? The Deus, Tek G2, CTX and Impact all found new homes and the Gold Bug 2 is looking for one. I am down to just five models: Minelab GPZ 7000 - the big gun for big gold Minelab Gold Monster 1000 - clean up the tiny bits the GPZ misses Garrett ATX - backup for GPZ, ocean and lake detecting White’s V3i - runs my Bigfoot coil, jewelry detecting Makro Gold Racer - because I always wanted a detector like this and I feel like Makro made it for me Add the Equinox 800 to that and I am done!
