  1. Lol I now have another bucket list coin... one of those high hitting war nickels!!
  2. Good job Dan!! I hunted the parks and still do. Got another silver out of one yesterday but permissions are where I've had my best luck. I reckon I'm just like you in regards to the way you feel about the Equinox. I honestly can't see myself swinging anything else that's available right now. I think I will try the two tone setup you're using. Nice post, Tom
  3. GB, These were I would say 4" + or - some. I haven't dug any 7" lately but have with the six in the past and with recovery set on 7. I don't know if it's good or bad but the coppers and nickels I soak in coconut oil. I didn't have any olive oil which I know some guys use. It seems to be ok but if you've got a crusty coin there's no fixing it. Thanks, Tom
  4. No date buff, 1915d buffalo and an 1886 Indian. These coins came from a place I call the "black hole". It's been hunted to death. It's also the first place I took my 800 to. I'm giving these coins to the 6"coil especially the Indian. Hunted in pk1, sensitivity 21, iron volume 1, second segment 15 rest left at 25. Recovery set at 7, ran in auto trac. I think the 6"coil is killer?!!
  5. GB, hope one gets under your coil soon. My settings in this yard were pk1 factory defaults and the coins seemed to be in that 5" + - range in this yard. HH, Tom
  6. Hey Andy, I was the guy that wasn't sure about getting the 6"coil because the stock coil separated so well and sure you'll find targets with both coils.... but you might find one with the six that the 11 might miss or you might find one with the stock coil that the six might miss. There's a lot of things to consider when choosing which one to hunt with but they most certainly compliment each other very well. I'm very happy with the addition of the six but I still use the stock when it's' called for. Good luck and HH, Tom
  7. I got to hit a yard for a little while this morning. Yep, I'm going back. ?
  8. I have a friend who has detected for years. I was at his house a while back and he was showing me the stuff he had saved. He said he was tired of looking at it and asked what I'd give him for it. I ended up buying it from him. I have finds that I'll give to the kids or grandkids someday but I probably do have a lot of stuff that I would sell..... hmmm... maybe.. lol. Steve, if my wife would ever happen to read your post I'm pretty sure she would start planning a vacation for us right away. ?
  9. Sorry to hear Dan. Hope things turn around with this one.
  10. Yep, I agree 100% and hopefully they will get it worked out soon. I'm getting ready to turn 62 and I certainly have my moments... lol. Here's hoping a bucket lister gets under your coil my friend. Good luck!! ?
  11. No sir, Sinclair I wasn't trying to imply that at all and I'm sorry if you took it that way. I simply remember to shut off the user profile when I'm done with it before shutting down the machine. It's become just a normal routine for me and I don't have any problems. Thus my statement about the owners manual if it would have said ALWAYS turn off the user profile setting before turning the machine off we wouldn't be here right now. Thanks for your info about minelab working on a fix but until then I'll just keep doing what I'm doing. Like I said it's just habit for me now to shut it off. Good luck and HH!! Tom
  12. I've used mine enough that it's just become second nature for me to shut off the user profile when I'm done with it. Honestly any program you have set up once you're familiar with the Equinox can be set back up very quickly if you forget to get out of your user profile. I do understand for the new users and guys that don't get to hunt as much it can be a little frustrating. Good to know they're working on a fix. Might be easier to just change the owner's manual. lol
  13. He got to test out the Equinox. Sounds like he got to test the 6"coil too. I'll see if I can find the video. Thanks
  14. Andy, I won't know until I use it more but I did dig three coins that were right at 7" give or take a little depending on which one and they hit great. I live in sw mo. and I know depth is just relativeto to the soil conditions. I'm very happy with it.
  15. Five wheaties and silver the second time out among with some other finds. The quarter and a couple of the wheats were right on that 7" mark and hit great!! I just put a couple of the smaller targets in the pic to show that it will find the small stuff.
  16. I cleaned it some more and writing appeared on the bottom for superior camp conduct C.C.C. 1934 presented by the army and navy journal. Civilian conservation Corp started in 1933 and ended in 42.
  17. That's what I was wondering myself. It has a lot of detail...I just at this point don't have a clue. Lol
  18. No, I thought it was a rivet but after I cleaned it I'm not sure exactly what it was used for??
  19. Hunted an iron infested yard this morning that has been hunted a lot. I was very impressed with the 6" coil. I hunted in pk1, 5 tones, recovery set at 7, all metal with the iron volume turned to 1, sensitivity 21. I started swinging slow but after a bit I found I could just swing it and when I heard a good sound just zero in and if it was repeatable good I'd dig. There is a difference between repeatable and good repeatable....I think that's why guys dig way too many rusty nails. I used to be one of them. Lol Only one time out with the 6" but right now I'm very happy with it.
  20. Good luck Buzzard I hope you get ya some nice nuggets. I mostly yard hunt but have always wanted to go prospecting.
