  1. I know of several other Gold rings that have been lost lately , as soon as the weather changes I will be down there hoovering up those Gold's. And Silver's !
  2. Over the last Month I have been doing quite a lot of detecting on my local beaches . I found not as much coinage as I used to as cashless society has well and truly kicked in . But the Gold and Silver less society is way off. My total for the last Month other than a few Euro's and other coins was £384.76p , 1 Platinum ring which I found for someone and returned to him . The picture of a ring on its own is the Platinum . 3 Gold rings 15 Silver rings 2 Tungsten rings 1 other that looks like a Tungsten but doesn't say so and a Gold looking Stainless Still ring and a junk ring . I searched for 13 times for around 5 hours . The last picture is of the finds I had today.3 August. That search was during Pride. It shows how the cashless society has ruined coin hunting . There were a lot of people about but in the gaps where people had been it was quiet mostly apart from lots of rubbish. I had £13.57p and 2 Silver rings and a 9.3g 9k Gold Signet ring . The 2 notes , the £10 note I found on the way back to the Bus stop and the £20 was from a man that paid me that for trying to find his Gold Wedding ring that I failed to find that day and still haven't found. But will try again when the beaches open up . Machines used were the "ET" E.Trac or the "EQ" or Nox.
  3. I was sent 4 new nuts but its not the nuts that are the problem . Its the actual cam itself . But its holding now I have tightened it up till the cam lugs touch. The upper rod used to slide out of the middle rod but its stopped now , mostly .
  4. Just measure the lower rod. If 21 inches , that's standard. I think there is an even shorter one ?
  5. I have bought 2 of the Tele Nox stems , a Long mans and a short stem . The middle and top stems are the same in both . Only the Lower stem is longer at 29 inches . In the picture you will see an 18 inch ruler for scale . The Long mans stem is the one I am using . I think I should have bought both as long mans . The shorter lower stem is 21 inches . Anyway I haven't had much issue with mine. Only on one of the top camlocks when tightened the middle stem kept coming loose. I now tighten till the lugs touch and that seems to hold. Though you are supposed to only tighten the nut up when the camlock is fully open , tighten up the nut then close the camlock lever . When you are out in the field or beach just take the 2 Allen keys with you . Under the position just under the top camlock I wrap a small amount of insulation tape around the stem just to show it has or hasn't moved . If it does I just adjust . I seems to last a very long time before it needs it if at all . Other than that I have had no trouble and I have used mine in rough seas , it takes the stress . As after market stems go its not a bad piece of kit . I will be visiting Oz next year , and I will be taking mine with me . That's why I bought it. The package next to the ruler it the shorter stem complete in its sleeve.
  6. I have only heard a small amount from 1 source . And sussed other things from other pictures and sites . The price and the fact its set between the Terra and the Nox makes it certain to replace the Terra . Its the same price range and the Terra being 14 years old wont sell . Its like the ET /Safari , they just dont sell now here . I bet they will go shortly . Thats another area that needs looking at and soon. I will get 1 if it does what the Terra does but in the salt too . It will take the pressure off the Nox a bit . Hope it has a 1/4 inch socket .
  7. But Minelab isn't looking to cater for people wanting a Nox or that price range. They are looking to cater for people wanting a better than starter machine and rip into the Ace 300/ 400 market I think. The Terra is old and needs replacement so I still feel that's the Vanquish is that and will be in the £300 to £550 price range . If it can mix what the Terra can do and what the Nox can do in the surf well enough , it will eat Garretts for breakfast . We'll see.
  8. I cant say , i will get source into trouble. But it has been said that Minelab wasn't bringing out another single freq machine. They said that single freqs are obsolete , to go back would make a mockery of that .
  9. That's old news . known for weeks. Hope it works in the salt wet.
  10. When younger people see and hear about the hobby , those that can get into it . Those that cant wait till they can . If ? I think that why there are so many older people in the hobby , we're all old youngsters .
  11. They are interested in Eastern Europe and Africa. I think there is a market for a long time yet. But there will be more company folds like Tesoro .
  12. I have heard or seen somewhere that Minelab have got control or something of the new Detectival here . That is where the new machine will be released i bet .
  13. Better not be just that colour . Maybe thats the 340 and the 440 and 540 are different . Bit like the Terra's .
  14. I dont think its make that is the problem , its the weight . People seem to want lightweight over capability . I have the ET and its going to be a real hard sell if i sell. Luckily mine has paid for itself so i wont make a loss . But i dont know if i will sell , its got better target info than the Nox and definitely will have than the Vanquish . But if the Vanquish runs on 2 or more freqs as multi running and has the Terra numbers / segments that will make that machine very versatile and find coins easier in trash than the Nox and working in the water will make it better than both the ET / Nox . There might be a downside or 2 but they might be manageable . As for your Quattro , you can always donate it to a museum , they "might" take it LOL . Sorry .
  15. ? . I just wonder where the Russians are getting their info ? But mine is or has been coming from a source other than online . 2 and 2 together is looking close to 4 now. Hopefully.
  16. Apart from headphones socket and number of freqs i think i know all i need to know. Its my next machine , or Minelab . Seen some info on the Australian / Relic forum and that confirms my beliefs. Prices in £ , I think around £300 to £500 give or take a bit . Looks like lots of Garrett losers i mean users will be throwing their machines down in disgust LOL
  17. I dont know where the Rusky's get their info but they were quite good last time . So i will assume they are near enough right, had other info someone else said too but wont go there . Anyway it sounds the right machine for me . Something to look forward too., hopefully.
  18. Check on the Australian / Relic hunting forum , Thread (The New Vanquish) . I have seen a number of details that have been leaked ? It may not be admitted but it is a replacement for the Terra's. I will be getting the Vanquish 540 . It will be worth it if both the freqs work together , that will be salt capable hopefully. It wont be all that basic either , a minimum X.Terra 705.
  19. I have it on good authority that the Vanquish is what I want. Yippy.
  20. I find Beach 2 in my settings the best way for the beach . I wouldn't touch Gold mode on the beach . Beach detecting is different to land , the one thing i concern myself with is "time" . The tide waits for no Man and you have to get in while you can. Or get wet .
  21. Its not going to be a Gold machine . The Minelab video of the man throwing his Garrett away is proof of where they are aiming their guns so to speak. This time its at Garrett lower end models like the 300 and 400 series maybe slightly higher but that is the machine. Also if anyone values their Minelab dealership they wont say anything till they are allowed . It could be curtains for anyone blabbing . Especially if their business relies on Minelab . Just like 1 or 2 relied on Tesoro till it went bust. I dont think the Vanquish is going to be for Gold prospecting , it looks like it will only have 7 and 18.75 khts freqs . I know the Terra has prospecting but 18.75 is a good freq for small hammered coins and Gold coins of Quarter Stater size not for very small Gold nuggets . I suspect a new Gold machine in late 2020 or 21 . As the GPZ shares the same stem as the CTX i suspect at the same time as the CTX replacement comes .
  22. Seems to be true for Gold machines now, maybe but relic machines aren't hardy enough for military use. And most of us soft civvies don't like the weight in our old ages LOL.
