  1. I do at the beach while on vacation. The XS can really drain the battery pack. On land I hunt mostly iron infested colonial permissions now. Not a good choice for that. But I cleaned out quite a few old Delaware schools with the Sovereign. BBS was a Bonafide game changer.
  2. In a long detecting life, you will find large quantities of everything. My partners knew what I found, and my X went to nursing school thanks to some of it. My grandkid's will enjoy what is left. Hell, I even went to the closet and grabbed my Garrett ADS 4. It filled up a small museum. Nice.
  3. Part on my hell for over 40 years when I head 50 miles north.
  4. I still use the SE emulator to play around with settings. It's fun. One key feature is to never noise cancel in auto. I set mine manually to 11 which lowers the frequency to around 13khz. making it a little hotter on high conductors.
  5. The aftermarket coils seem for me to be the only way to go. Probably only used the Pro coil a few times. Mine SE was the Pro model.
  6. I owned all the Explorer's but found using aftermarket coils was the way to go for me.
  7. Nothing like my Explorer se to properly ID trash and find silver coins in a very trashy area. Don't have to dig it all to find out what you've found. Long live FBS Technology with a small Sunray coil. Nice.
  8. Too much of a good think is not always a good thing. It's great to update but at the risk of making a great machine complicated for some. But if this is The Flagship, so be it.
  9. On one of my old (1820} permissions. Say no to Mercury Dimes.
  10. The 60 happens every time when the coil is placed flat on the ground with my Legend. I also noticed a slight delay when the signal has been processed. Maybe it's me being Ancient. 😂
  11. The number 60 will appear if you place your coil flat on the ground. This could be the cause of an issue stating the Legend, when you scrub the ground has problems detecting objects but when you provide an air gap it may pick up the object. AKA, when using the deep mode must have an air gap to work properly. The D2 also must have an air gap using the relic program. Please try this and let me know if your Legend reads 60 when you place the coil flat on the ground. Just a thought. Thanks
  12. Trying to make customers happy is certainly not an easy thing to do. Kudos Dilek.
  13. Not unusual. A very early lesson to learn. Go back and find some crap. Maybe she would not be so interested. You spent money for your equipment, gas to get there and some snacks. Whatever you decide I can respect what you did. Keep that Reale in your pocket. Good luck.
  14. Filled up a museum with my old 4900.Having tested hundreds of detectors from around the world in the last 53+ years that's too tough to call.
  15. Disc. pattern on six, 2 tone, set tone one to the lowest setting and tone 2 the highest. Beach program, dry beach. Now I hunt colonial relics and coins in mineralized soil. If I was a park hunter this set up really breaks up on rusty bottle caps. Signals pop. Fun and simple to try. Just a heads up on the ferro check feature. I have dug both ferrous and nonferrous in the same hole when the meter shows both.
  16. I say no. "YOU THE OPERATOR" did not find the target while using a Legend. Too many factors involved in making that statement. Genius.
  17. With social media being the way companies must advertise now they will have to pick carefully whose hands they put a detector into. Besides us old guys don't know what we are talking about. I think a half century +3 equals 53 you tube hits. Hope your well Steve.
  18. Relic Hunting in the iron has presented no issues. Maybe Nokta can make a "Hypersonic Legend" for the jittery guy. Oh my!
  19. Lynchburg, Mechanicsville or Manassas? All folks I have known for up to 40+ years.
