  1. CCadrin. Your results sound just just like mine. Just wasn’t sure about the ExCal in pinpoint in the water. I also enjoy a threshold for that is what I’m accustomed to over many years and it isn’t as chattery as the Nox
  2. It sure does! And when the cover fills with water and sand particles it's even heavier.
  3. Nice story and great looking nuggets! Love the chevron gold. Only been to NV once to hunt and luck had it that I found 4 nuggets on the first day I got there. What did I find over the next 2 days...nothing. LOL Would like to go back again!
  4. You dug plenty of targets. The odds of hitting a gold ring are certainly in your favor.
  5. Thanks for sharing that information. I had a 15 inch WOT coil hardwired onto an older Excal once and was quite happy with it. I hunted around Daytona Beach in the wet sand and it went pretty deep. I do agree that the Nox finds really small targets in the wet sand including small gold chains. Nothing too deep with the chains, maybe several inches but I'm more than pleased with that.
  6. I've used marine epoxy on coils with great success. My only question is... Does using marine epoxy void the warranty? Unless I heard it directly from FT or Rick, I would not use it.
  7. Alexandre...I thoroughly enjoyed watching the video. It is always interesting to see actual digs with nice finds. Plus... any bits of information about the AQ will help in the use of my "very soon to receive AQ Limited". Thanks for showing those great looking coat of arms rings! Beautiful gold!
  8. Yes.. there are so many variables. I dig it all, no black sand, Gulf of Mexico salinity water, definitely looking for gold but will dig any remotely possible signal. In rough breaking surf the Excalibur is superior in signal stability and all around has a more robust feel. In the water the Nox will pick up smaller bits of aluminum trash near the surface but I can’t definitely say if one is deeper than the other on coin size or gold objects. In wet sand I prefer the Nox maxed out.
  9. And to be a little more specific... I can run my Excal. in pinpoint mode with a sensitivity around 9 in the saltwater. I can run the Equinox around 20 sensitivity and recovery speed around 3. Any thoughts on which one punches deeper on a coin or ring size object? Thanks!
  10. Nice going on the rings Joe! I like your AQ setup. The short power cable is a nice improvement. Maybe you could make and sell a few of those for anyone purchasing a battery from you.
  11. Nice pile of gold! Those chunkies add up fast. Congrats!
  12. Nice going Cliff. At least you know what's hiding in the dry sand. Looks like you had quite the workout!
  13. Thanks for the nice report and to hear your happy with the AQ. I’m sure the gold is close by. The news is good!
  14. Glad that method it worked out. Sounds pretty easy. I was hoping for maybe an original Atocha or S.S.Central America coin or ? Congrats though on a great looking ring!
  15. A long time ago I was cleaning a small silver chain. Forgot about constantly checking the electrolysis process. Needless to say...no more chain.
  16. I would use electrolysis. Just keep an eye on it, so you don't go too long. Here is a silver I cleaned a few months ago. I don't usually clean any of it, but this one stirred my imagination. Just used a small battery charger.
  17. The original Gold Bug. My first gold machine. There are 50 nuggets shown in this picture with the largest a 5+ ounce piece. I think I bought it from a dealership called Clevenger. Those were some fun days.
  18. I used to subscribe to the CMJ for years and read everything from cover to cover. A wealth of information in those pages.
  19. That sounds good to me. I would rather have a gold magnet than a silver magnet for my hunting situations.
  20. Excellent test you did phrunt! That puts a lot of the mystery about EMI and the new update to sleep.
  21. Nice going Joe! It sure cleaned up nicely too. Looks like the AQ is waking up the deep ones.
